About the game:
God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the God of War series, and is set to be released for Windows on September 19, 2024. It is the ninth installment in the series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Scandinavia and features series protagonist, Kratos, and his now teenage son, Atreus. Concluding the Norse era of the series, the game covers Ragnarök, the eschatological event which is central to Norse mythology and was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Aesir god Baldur.

I know people hate the 3rd wheeling portion but the fact that Atreus has never seen the opposite sex in his age range had me interested. At the end of the day he is still a kid who will have mundane things going on. I liked it. A bit long but I liked to see a kid be a kid.
Ye but the reason people hate it is because it just drags on for so long. The first time you play through the game it's fine but with new game plus it's just so boring
@@user-wk9pz1gc5t I do agree it can be boring in a new play through but id take quality of story telling and narrative over replay ability any day, When knowing where to go and what to do this section won’t take anymore than a hour my friend.

PRO TIP >> UPGRADE ARMOR >> In Ragnarok, you don't have to worry about finding BETTER armor. Beacuse every piece of armor you find (or buy) can be upgraded to max level 9. So if you get something you really like, you can just keep upgrading it until max level 9. (And some special armor can be upgraded beyond level 9).
The biggest difference between armor sets is the PERKS they provide. Different sets of armor will grant different bonuses in combat. (Like realm shift, or poison attacks, or increased rage/strength, or increased healing, or increased ice damage or resistance to fire, etc)
Because of these different combat perks, some types of armor work MUCH BETTER than others against certain enemies/bosses. So you might want to keep an extra set of (upgraded) armor handy, for tough situations.
all armor can be upgraded up to level 10 in New Game+

All seriousness, this is a thematic element and shift that is very rarely touched on if at all in gaming media. We get to see the WHOLE 😩 arc of Boy.

Ironwood definitely was my least favorite part of Ragnarok, but I will admit that it was cool to see another part of Jotunheim that wasn’t the rocky, desert mountains from 2018.

PRO TIP >> TRANSMOGRIFY ARMOR >> Once you upgrade armor to level 9, you can change "the look" of that piece of armor to adopt "the look" of a different piece of armor. So if you like the way one piece of armor looks.. but you prefer the stats and perks of a different piece of armor... you can have the best of BOTH worlds. Just some advice. Take it or leave it.
there is a set of armour in every realm, they are specifically designed to fit the theme of that realm
A lot of dialog is triggered by location so if you're in the middle of a conversation and run ahead you can cut it off early.
Don’t let your dislike of Ironwood to affect the rest of the game. It’s been a while since you posted GOW. 😢
Low energy Mati being a third wheel in Iron Wood is sad. Little teenagers and their little problems. Mati I think it might be too much trying to do both the Elden Ring DLC and GoW:R, you really looked just exhausted. Take care of yourself, when you enjoy the game it's really infectious and fun to watch.
Unless you're doing it off camera you really should look to buying more stuff from the skill tree. Especially Atreaus. Makes the sections where you play as him more fun

I like being able to explore jotunheim and meeting angrboda. I don’t HATE this section but it does feel a little too drawn out.

After watching last video I finally bought elden ring(cause it was on sale) and going into it with a sekiro brain was *PAINFUL* . Oh boy, Margit really kicked my ass. Probably spent 2 hours on him or something so this is gonna be a wonderful experience xD

The level may get boring, but implications do not. In myth, Angrboda is Loki’s giant lover, and had 3 cursed children. We have met 2 and the last doesn’t seem to be around. It’s curious to see where the writers will take the story down the line with this fact

Obviously we all know Jörmungandr, also Fenrir, I assume you only meant those 2 but you’re forgetting Hraesvelger (aka Hel) the giant bird from Helheim.

Not quite true: Fenrir is his wolf, child by technically. Same with Jormungandr whom he ‘birthed’ with Angrboda, another technically. The bird in Helheim is no technically and shares no relation with either of them. There’s still room to work with, especially since the bird is looking to retire.
52:00 Actually there ARE certain parts of the game when you can pet your wolves while playing as Atreus in midgard. But I can't say much without spoiling the story for you

The dialogue was overlapping all over this episode because this is a small area and each corner prompts Atreues to ask a question. And as you're walking all over the place triggering each corner they overlap. In my playthough that happened just a couple of times as I tend to stop and listen.
PS. Atreus best move hands down is the rope which he launches at his enemies. Goat move tbh.

completely unrelated to the vídeo but man i just gotta say it, im around 40 hours into elden ring dlc, still got some to do but its an absolute masterpiece, elden ring might just become my favorite fromsoft game after finishing it
I do like the Ironwood section but I don’t think it would have much replay value on subsequent playthroughs

Very interesting to hear your opinion about this part, I was pretty excited to see your reaction on it, but is okay, I can understand this is not for everyone's taste. I personally really liked it, it was pretty long but to me it didn't feel that long, It was definetly a break from all of the blood of GOW, but that doesn't necessarily has to be bad. I love how I get to see animals and bound with them when I play as Atreus, so maybe that's why I have loved this part so much. Anyways, without really spoilering, you're fine, keep playing. Ragnarok is my 2nd most favorite game of all times.
Glad you enjoyed but I would say 90%+ players did not enjoy this part or most of Atreus sections.

@matiasgago Ironwood is slow game play wise but very important from a story and lore point of view. Most gamers simply play the series just to get views and the story is an afterthought. This Ironwood section maybe slow but it explains alot and in all the many playthroughs ive seen only 1 single person picked up on the ramifications of it. I have high hopes you would be number 2 Mati. Dont let me down come Ragnorok. Its so frustrating when most reactors completely miss what was in front of them when everything is explained.

Just a reminder that Kratos has overcome fate itself in the past, The prophecies never worked on him so hope the best and go on with the play through.Thor's sons were destined to See through the Ragnarok but Kratos killed them, Defying fate. so anything can happen you know..

I love every second of this game, I don't understand why people don't like Ironwood
They are racist mostly.
Mostly cause it's boring as fuck.
To me it feels dragged out, could have split this in 2 parts and it will be way more enjoyable
MOST of the “critique” of this section of the game is just people being racist fucks, because Santa Monica had the audacity to add a black girl to their game.
Angrboda is a pretty interesting character, and the level and pacing are similar to other parts in the game.
Yet, people only harp on THIS section as being “the worst”, because they saw black characters and completely lost it.
And no, I’m not exaggerating. There are numerous instances of people, including youtubers (among others) that have review bombed this part, citing Angrboda’s race specifically as a major reason why they didn’t like it.

sorry i've had to dodge your elden ring DLC vids ( i didn't prepare and my only save was on ng+4 for 100%ing the base game so i've been playing through a fresh save 😂) but i'm here front n center for the gow continuation, i'll get round to the others soon tho, appreciate you putting all this work in
21:18 Mati they've already killed him 4 times throughout the entire series and at the start of this game, and he's been to multiple underworlds at least 4 or 5 times already, so it's pretty clear they aren't scared to kill Kratos or send him to Hel. The question should be if he dies again will he stay dead this time?
Just did a new game plus+ play-through on GMGOW and for this part to constantly recieve so much hate, it really didnt bother me. Actually enjoyed it more this time bc i was able to catch the little details i missed on my 1st playthrough
