Beretta takes a M9 and upgrades to the steel trigger and new trigger spring. Also improved D hammer spring. also gen3 locking block kit and no safety, only decocker. All safety levers are steel. The recoil rod is steel and magazine release is steel. Also different grips. why? Marine Combat Veteran and World Class competitive shooter, Ernest Landon discussed what simple but effective modifications he would make to the standard Military M9 pistol to make what is already a combat proven weapon into a high performance shooting machine. And Beretta is about to release this model. cost about $800, and street price of about $700.
I just bought a Langdon M9 used but mint condition for $550. The slide is silky smooth and has a better trigger the the new M9A3. I say this because I compared them side by side. Awesome pistol!

By the way, you could have replaced the safety with beretta's G-decock only lever and that will only decock and no safe.
Yep, both of my are in actual M9/92F spec. Both of my are below S/N 3000, with one of them being below #70 :) I don't like the radiused cut back strap on some of the 'Special Edition' guns as you already mentioned, it just looks wrong.
+KAChan (Ian) I've seen people sold their M9SE with non radiused backstrap as they prefer the 92FS frames better with their grip. Btw, if you are going further for an M9 clone, cdnnsports sells M9 hammers without a "C" below assembly numbers.
I like my Taurus PT92FS. Taurus put the Safety on the frame. They didn't address the front Sight tho. I wouldn't mind having the option to put Tritium Night sights on it. Berretta M9A3 in Desert tan is awful tempting but expensive. The Girsan knockoff is cool but same situation with the front sight👍🏾😎☯️

I bought a commercial m9 and swapped out poly parts. Same gun minus the couple extra markings.swapped hammer too. Still cheaper then the one you bought
my beretta fs is the best but they havent fazed em out completely its still around im not a fan of the beretta APX the original design is the best as a former jarhead i can tell you the sig p320 is good except if you drop it it might go off but ive never dropped a sidearm ever but beretta rules
