That was amazing to see some of what goes on behind the closed gates. And 2 guards having a cigarette before duty. Hopefully today will be quite for them all on duty in the cold and snow. Must be extremely difficult walking in those boots and the snow. Plus dangerous for horses and guards..for everyone..😊

Thank you Alex. Ex hubs was Army and did Buck H Guard duty. People who see the guys and gals "outside" generally have no idea how much sheer graft goes on. Its much more than a full time career, its a lifestyle. Very proud of our Troops.

Each boot weighs 5lbs (2.5kg) with very movement in the ankle. Mine are solid. 😉

They only wear the high boots when riding or on dress duty, the rest of the time they wear normal Army-type boots I think.
