@Daniel Williamson yep pretty spot on. Not sure why the sequel got so much hate. I think it did great in the fact that unlike completely losing your humanity like Seth did, it was great turnaround to see the monster regain their humanity
3:52 The fact that Martin knows the sacrifice he would have to make in order to regain his humanity, shows how his humanity is still intact at this point. By the time his father got to this conclusion, Seth had lost his moral center and rationality. That also might be the reason why Stathis decided to help him by offering them both his Jeep. Well, that, and also he's the last remaining part of Veronica still alive.
True, but there's a big difference between Seth and Martin. Seth was mutated at the genetic level as much as the fly that was fused with him. Seth's human side became aware of the Insects mentality instincts that basically corrupted his mentality, on the other hand Martin was born as a mutant, his fly side is what he is, there is no mentality that takes him away from what he was, because it is what he is. Martin is born as a half fly half human, so only his body morphs, the moment he changes, his natural instincts and understanding of his body makes him act. That is the sole reason he can tell the difference between people and even a dog and at the end he can gesture to Beth to activate the Telepods, because his mind is still him, Martin. Seth's mutation affected his mind, because of the mind of the Fly that was fused with him was also alive within and each was melding, conjoining into two personalities with one body that had both genes. Think of it as Milk or Chocolate, each is their own, but then when you mix them in a cup, which one is dominant? the Milk or the Chocolate? Now Martin is like a Milk Chocolate bar, born of both, unable to be really separated unless with technology.

Stathis also hated Seth. He couldn't accept the fact that himself and Ronnie weren't together anymore and that Ronnie was with another man. That's why he accused Seth of stealing her from him and for causing her death. Yes, he did Ronnie pregnant with Martin, but Ronnie died from cardiac arrest and most likely birth complications. Stathis was cruel to Martin simply cos he's the son of the man who stole Ronnie from him, got her pregnant, caused her death and took his hand and foot from him. It's Martin's fault he is what he is. He's been lied to and held prisoner in a corporate facility and they wanted to exploit him so Bartok could rule the world and discover the secret of creating more mutants like him. Martin's insect side drove him to furious anger and seek violent vengeance upon Bartok and his employees. Seth Brundle was a lonely man who was trying to create something he believed who would change the world and revolutionize travel. But stathis being cruel to Martin jus cause of who he is is jus wrong... an also, stathis got something real wrong here. Brundle didn't "steal" his girl. as they wernt together. They were for a while. She broke up with him. She was free. You cant "Steal" a Girl if the Girl isn't with a guy in the 1st place. so yeah. do feel sorry for him for all hes been through. But stathis is still a Arrogant Prick.
It was a senseless terrible accident when he got fused with the fly and his human and insect sides were in conflict and it was consuming him. Stathis was armed with a loaded shotgun and Seth was defending himself. At least, Stathis did the right thing and gave Martin and Beth his car. Still, not fair for him to say that Seth stole Ronnie. He and Ronnie weren't together and had broken up when Ronnie met Seth.
Well said. At least the Movie had a Happy Ending. as Martin an his Girlfriend will now have a happy life an Bartok suffers for his crimes. Kinda ironic. Bartok became an suffers by the very thing he wanted to control.
@@seanmager1168 You know. I know a lot of people on YT hates my videos and may or may not like me and thinks I am a idiot and a dickhead and constantly give me crap when they respond to my comments on other videos. Thank you for your comment and saying it was well-said. I have Asperger syndrome. I am actually an intelligent person and I try to make the best videos I can for RUclips. I only have one camera and the quality isn't perfect and it's the best I can do. I like The Fly 2. The only thing I didn't like about it was the dog. It's horrible when an animal gets abused and suffers. I don't think it's a great movie or a classic like the 1986 film but it's still a good movie. It's not Martin's fault he is a mutant fly creature. It wasn't my choice to have Aspergers. I can't help being the way I am.
Daniel Williamson... Let me tell you something Bro. Fuck those Assholes! Your jus a dude having some fun an yer Real nice. I also have Asperger's an I have Tourette's too. I am also smart. I don't have an IQ of 300 like Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon does, But I aint a Moron. an let me tell ya this Dude, the 1ns who are insulting you for no damn Good reason, they are the Idiots an dickheads. as they cant see yer jus a regular nice guy having some fun. Some people on the internet believe jus cause they are far away an behind a screen an stuff they can say whatever they want an get away with it. Like they can call people like you an me who have learning disabilities the R-word. Or they can call African people the N-word or Jewish people the K-word. Some people on the internet are jus FUCKED UP. Well ignore an screw em... An sometimes they jus say Crazy Bullshit to get attention. Like ive also received uncalled for Bullshit from cruel pathetic mindless fucked up morons... If it helps, Remember this, the old saying, "Sticks an stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" These guys on the internet hurting you cant hurt you if you jus ignore their Bullshit Bro. XD. Also, I like making new Friends on the Internet. I have a Deviantart site an a facebook page an I LOVE Talking about Movies an anime an other stuff. If yer interested in chatting with me, Ill ALL For it dude.

He kinda sounds like Snape
Why the gray hair and beard? Only four years went by, or three
@@Mayo11-i5t Stathis may have been 40 - 50 years of age.
@@danielwilliamson6180 still pretty fast for his hair and beard switch to gray
@@Mayo11-i5t 5 years. John Getz was only 42 when The Fly 2 was in production.
@@danielwilliamson6180 too young for gray hair in my opinion, but between 86 and 89 it's a 3 year gap, either way I guess it's just makeup and they wanted to make him look like a rusty old man
Stathis. Veronica's ex boyfriend.
Also Martin's future attempted father
His beard looks more fake as the make up from brundel Boy 😅
John Getz shaved off his beard after production on The Fly was completed.
@@danielwilliamson6180 i know, but his Looks so Fake sorry I can't overlook it 😉
@@Morris1581 Maybe he didn't have time to grow one for the movie.
