did anyone notice he removed the oil sending unit and connection and didn't reconnect the unit .. this means the computer will send a check engine code.. because there's no pressure the computer not picking up...
Yes i see it , I guess glowshift forget to mention it, option to use oil pressure tee to npt adapter, one for OEM oil sending unit and other for oil pressure sensor to the gauge, I install mine with adapter with two ports as i mention above, but some car wont give CEL when removed oil sending unit and i have no idea, please correct me if i am wrong.
You can connect the wires of up to 4 gauges together and run them each to one expandable circuit. All red wires - expandable circuit 1 All yellow wires - expandable circuit 2 All orange wires - expandable circuit 3 All black wires - reliable grounding source
Just replaced my old Glow Shift oil pressure & water temp gauges with the updated models, much easier to install now and all appear to be working correctly
i want to grab one for my 1990 eclipse GSX my OEM pressure gauge is pretty stupid and i’d rather have accurate readings. the sensor is located low near the oil filter so running the wire and keeping it clean looking will be interesting to overcome lol
Ive seen multiple video's about installing different gauges, what do you need if you want to install 3 gauge's, is there like some kind of hub to connect all the things too?
What did brass connectors did you use to move the sensor to where you needed it? My mishimoto sandwich plate is just a hair too close to the engine block to install my sensor, so I need something to push it out a bit. Struggling to find what I need
You can connect them all together so you're only running one single wire to the fuse box. Connect all the reds together, all the yellows together, all the oranges together, and all the blacks together.
I have a 05 infinity G35 coupe I was needing help the owner Before put glow shift gauges in the car But only the battery voltage one works and not the oil pressure gauge or water temp gauge
No. We would recommend one of our adapters that allow you to install both sensor to one location. Contact our customer support directly and we'll be able to get you hooked up with what you need.
So unlike the old model gauge you don't have a ground wire on the sensor harness ? This new model harness goes directly to the back of the gauge with no ground wire as I see it correct ??Should get mine tomorrow I hopeThanks
I have five gauges to install 1 oil pressure, 2 turbo boost, 3 trans temp, 4 coolant temp gauge and 5 air/ fuel gauge, I am nervous to install them because there are so many fuse adaptors that need to be installed in the fuse box I am scared there wont be enough room or just to many adaptor's
When installing more than one guage, is it ok to tie the 'red, yellow & orange' wires from say a water temp gauge and an oil pressure guage together before tapping into the fuse box?
One is a constant power so the gauge remembers your settings, one for ignition so the gauge only turns on when the vehicle is turned on, and the 3rd one is optional to enable the dimming feature when the vehicle's headlights are turned on.
Anyone that buys any gauges and has never installed it won’t be this easy especially if you are installing the gauge apillar on your apillar wires don’t reach so you gotta run extra wire also so yah have fun with this project
I will do it on my MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS BUT I have little doubt I want to install two Glow shift temperature gauge and pressure oil gauge how to do it?
By disconnecting the factory oil pressure sensor, won't you get a check engine light or have the car place itself into a limp mode or not start at all ?
@@pxndxlunx5821 it kinda did tho. They said it didn't give a check engine light. They didn't say anything about limp mode tho. But would a company sell you a product that puts your car into limp mode?
We have been running this setup in this exact car for 6 months now and have not received a check engine light or "limp mode". If you are worried about a light, you can install the sensor using an oil filter sandwich adapter.
I was curious of this as well. I always thought the factory sensor not being used would send information back to the ECU that it had no oil pressure and throw it in limp mode. Odd that this Subaru didn't 🤷♂️
Can I run 2 gauges off of the same fuse adapter setup? (Constant power wires double crimped, etc) I've got an 05 legacy so it should be similar/the same as the Subaru shown
@@GlowShift so what happens to the original oil pressure sensor? Would it not be better to use a tee piece or other adaptoor to keep the stock sensor and have the new?
Anthony330xi your gonna bring that up but not the fact that it was the wrong size butt connector for that gauge wire? Know your facts before you nitpick
not the case for all cars, some have it where the lack of oil pressure grounds the signal to the switch and so simply removing the switch would make the car thinks it has constant pressure as It can't ground the signal, I've tested this by putting the connector straight to the ground on a car and then taking it off and the light went off when I took it off the ground. it depends on the car.
You guys are amazing for using a subaru for the guide! About to do this to my own! I can’t wait
and what about the original Oil pressure sensor cable for the ECU? where does this now get the signal from?

You can ground the factory wires. If it's a single wire sensor then you just run it to a ground.
how do you run multiple gauges? wont one gauges expandable circuits in the fusebox get in the way of another gauges?
You can connect the wires of up to 4 gauges together and run them each to one expandable circuit.
All red wires - expandable circuit 1

Ive seen multiple video's about installing different gauges, what do you need if you want to install 3 gauge's, is there like some kind of hub to connect all the things too?
No hub, we would just recommend a 3 gauge wiring kit to make wiring all the gauges to power easier.
So if I want to run 3 gauges like this video can I just wire 2 of the gauges to one gauge ?
Yes the red, yellow, orange nd black wires can be connected together
Signal wires must be separate

Contact our customer support directly and they will be able to get you the correct adapter. You can call or use the live chat feature on our website.
What size fuses for the gauge? And if I run multiple gauges to one tap, would I need to up the fuse size?
We recommend connecting to a fuse 10amps or higher. You can connect up to 4 gauges to 1 single fuse without increasing the amps.
@@GlowShift thank you so much!
What should the readings usually be at idle and at moving
Your STI should idle around 20psi when fully warmed up and above 43psi when moving. Your RPM's will determine how high the pressure goes.
If you run 3 gauges can you use the same grounding location for all 3 or do each one need their own ground.
Yes, they can all use the same ground.
@KaliFornia Dashcamer Daisy chain
Nice video!
Be carful about using the location of the factory oil pressure switch a lot of cars won’t run properly if the computer can’t see oil lsi
In most cases it will only throw a check engine light which will need to be cleared.
If we have 2 gauges do we connect the wires together for the fuse tap?
Yes, you can wire up to 4 gauges to a single power source.
What to do if the fuse wires don’t reach my fuse box?
You can extend the wires. Just use wire connectors and spare 18 gauge automotive wire.
What did brass connectors did you use to move the sensor to where you needed it?
My mishimoto sandwich plate is just a hair too close to the engine block to install my sensor, so I need something to push it out a bit. Struggling to find what I need
I know this is an old video but can I connect the orange & yellow wires to a headlight switch? Constants a little difficult on my VW Vanagon!
You can but the yellow wire for constant allows the gauge to remember the color selection.
What it you don't have enought space in the fuse box area or adding multiple gauges then what, any suggestions?
You can wire multiple gauges to each individual fuse.
What if you have multiple gauges but not enough fuse locations for all of them ?
You can connect them all together so you're only running one single wire to the fuse box. Connect all the reds together, all the yellows together, all the oranges together, and all the blacks together.
@@GlowShift what gauge wire is the gauge harness I need to extend
