@@Lonzz_14 No, it's not really painful, just feels very, very uncomfortable. Like you're constantly gagging and feel like you're going to suffocate, so you have to try really hard to stay as calm as possible or else it gets worse.
@@acmarston I had a tube with a camera. The numbing sprays did nothing much. Did it hurt? Yes. As much as getting accidentally stabbed in the thigh? No; I've had both...the stabbing thing was hot blossoming pain. The procedure hurt about as much as when my foot got turned around backwards (skiing accident, binding did not release). At first, not "pain" but a feeling like it should hurt. Then as it was down my throat, more and more and it really hurt coming out. Just like when they took the ski binding off and my foot whipped back around the right way- both lower leg bones broken. That'll keep you off the dance floor a few weeks.
There are two people in my life that inspire me the most: Ayrton Senna and Niki Lauda. I give them both light years of respect, and I wish that they rest peacefully. Formula 1 will always be dangerous, but it seems the best were always taken too early. Thank you for inspiring me
When Lauda was sitting behind a steeringwheel....it was like he had his hands on LIFE IT SELF...searching for something...something bigger than him self....bigger than the sport... Respect from Norway.
This man went through a crash and all these horrible procedure and went on to almost win that same season despite his condition. He then won the whole thing the next season. He's the embodiment of determination and sheer fcking will.
And remember, he had at least three skin grafts on his head and on his face with skin taken from his thighs. So he was in terrible pain from that also.

I thought the thumbnail was photoshopped, until I watched and saw him say to the doctor to do it again (how accurate to real life that is, I don’t know). Might have to read up on this man’s life and career.
I had a procedure in which a camera had to go down my esophagus, to take images of my heart without the breastbone in the way. Had to be awake. They gave me sprays to deaden the sensation and pain. Yeah. Didn't work. Felt just like you think it felt when a 1" wide tube was crammed down me gullet. But _they didn't go all the way into my damned lungs for god's sake_ Holy shit.
