    Yeah, this was called “The wrong way to put out a fire” for a reason. It’s honestly a perfect way of looking at what Endeavor did to Touya. Endeavor sparked the fire, and instead of giving it calm and gentle water or something to put it out, he basically poured gasoline and paint thinner on it, and then proceeded to ignore the fire and let it build, not realizing that he was not only the root of the problem but also the main one making it worse.
    And by the time he did realize it, it’s all just too little too late.

    I forgot the name of the woman on the left, but she 100% nailed it!! Toya was given the golden child status, while Fuyumi and Natsuo weren't given that status at all. While Fuyumi and Natsuo did suffer from Endeavor's neglect they didn't bond with him the same way Toya did. That's why it greatly effected Toya so much because he knew the purpose as to why his parents got married.
    Overall, I'm just happy someone understood how emotional abuse works because most reactors completely missed the point.

      Agreed and it's really frustrating to see how many people simply stamp him off as a child that was born an evil psychopath and that no one else had influenced him at all when that couldn't be farther from the truth.

    Hey guys, great discussion!
    Just as a small reminder One for all has to be willingly transferred in order to pass it on, we learned this back in the Stain arc, otherwise Stain would have gotten One for all since he ingested Deku’s blood.
    But I do agree though, that it poses more of a threat to Deku the more the public knows about his power.
    Looking forward to the next reaction!

    the most heartbreaking part of the episode was seeing Toya lighting up and not being able to control the flames. I was holding up pretty well but that part really got me. Just seeing how desperate he was and the lead up to it. Endeavor's VA is so good at portraying emotion too.

    Seeing this definitely made what we knew worse cause before we knew he did this but he haven’t seen it. To be fair at least this story actually showed he did care for toya even if he did a shit job. Before we assumed he cared for literally none of them. This opens up more of the story the good the bad the ugly. I’ve seen people both manga only and anime only have the same poor mindset that what character development Endeavor has had magical vanishes. They think he can’t atone though before the abuse was actually shown believed he could. What makes it different. We see him now we knew what he was back then but now seeing it makes you rethink your hope he does better? Idiotic. If you’ve never cared from him even throughout the development that’s fine but if you started to care to then double back that’s dumb. I know that’s not everyone but I saw a lot of it when the chapter came out and I’m seeing a lot of it now when this episode aired. Like seeing this doesn’t change what we knew about Endeavor before. Now we see him with his family working on his biggest issue he’s caused. Let’s just hope to see things work out at least semi positive.

    The thing is Endeavor didn't want Touya to get hurt but Endeavor himself didn't give up on his selfish dreams. Instead of making more kids, he should've given Touya more time, sat down and talked to him like how a real father should. Maybe even taken him to a psychiatrist or something. But, no. He didn't do that. Endeavor just pushed Touya to the side and kept on having more kids.
    Like imagine a 13 year old child saying things like this to their parents - "You'll be glad that I was born" or in the manga version - "You'll realize that I wasn't a mistake"… Pathetic and depressing. This episode demonized Endeavor for me even more.

    i find it interesting that some people see this part of the story and misses the point of the "family responsability". The author did an amazing job portraing what a toxic family looks like. It is never just one member the one to blame, but all the people involved. Yes, Enji is the source of the issues, but both parents failed Toya. Even if Enji was a shitty father, Rei had all the time to actually pull out, take her kids and protect them, instead she stood there and failed them to the point that she physically attacked Shoto. Natsu and Fuyumi were kids, I can understand they feel guilty, but their responsability in this matter is mostly non-existent.

      This custody thing, is something a rational person would think, we are talking about a toxic enviroment here, so logic kinda went out the window from the start.

      Toxic family? Yes, to a degree. But shifting the blame on Rei is showing extreme bias towards Endeavor. It was not up to Rei to bear the weight of Endeavor's sins. And to say that it's everyone involved is a bit vague. I actually didn't like that part - because the kids are NOT to blame, even if they think that. Everything was Endeavor's fault. You can try and twist is, but this is how it is. Rei did not have a choice and felt obligated to do this for her parents and then to try and salvage things for her children. It's something you see in real life. "She stood there" is the classic sh!tty thing that's said about victims when they stay in abusive relationships. It's just gross to say. Please reevaluate. This was Endeavor's fault entirely. And no, I'm not excusing Rei's actions. Please bffr

    10/10 episode. The character development for this family is so good 🔥
    I smell AFO cause there has to be more on why touya became a villain. Just because his family told him he couldn't be a hero and didn't give him attention, would yell at him for using his quirk..ect is not a good reason to become a villain. That's honestly some weak shit if that makes you a villain 😂 Dabi is still looking for attention kinda pathetic tbh

    Imma be honest, I only blame Endeavor. There’s no way in hell I’m blaming his younger siblings who are kids themselves for Dabi losing his mind like that, like he literally tried to kill Shoto lol so this whole family to blame shit is ridiculous. His parents, mainly Endeavor failed him.

    • @blacknoise
      @blacknoise Год назад +16

      The point isn’t that they all share equivalent blame. Enji made the choices that set everything in motion and made decisions along the way that met the situation get worse. The point is more that Rei had her own set of things she did wrong (even if she was a victim in other ways), Touya was unstable, and yeah Fuyumi and Natsuo were avoiding Touya in the ways that mattered-though as you say they were kids, they were just reacting to their environment. Only Shouto is fully the victim of everything. Still, of course, the bulk of the blame does lie with Enji.
      This is more about the family saying “this is a family problem and we are going to get through this as a unit” because it’s the better decision. Enji’s too broken by what happened (and there’s trauma driving him, too, his own fears and pain) to tackle this alone. The family is standing together to try to handle the situation that was created within the walls of their home.

    • @marleymarsss
      @marleymarsss Год назад +14

      @@blacknoise no I’m not blaming those kids for another kid going insane from the abuse of his parent. Her sister literally was just worried about him?? How is that avoiding him? Natsu was a little boy, how could he begin to understand his trauma? I get wanting to come together as a family now to stop him but y’all putting blame on his siblings is absolutely ridiculous imo.

    • @blacknoise
      @blacknoise Год назад +12

      @@marleymarsss cool thing is, THEY are the ones claiming responsibility. I’m not putting words in their mouths here. They are claiming this issue, even if it’s just a tiny fragment. Even if they were kids. For the sake of solidarity if nothing else.
      If you read (more carefully please) what I wrote, I readily acknowledge that Natsuo and Fuyumi were just kids reacting to the environment they lived in. Obviously, their part in all this is negligible compared to the colossal failures of Enji and, secondarily, Rei. The point is that THEY are willingly claiming a stake in the struggle anyway. Just like Shouto is. They’re putting the family unit and the collective responsibility for their brother first.
