The first time we see Dabi he's outside of a beauty salon right after he got his hair dyed
I doubt he had his white hair until that point and just decided to dye it that late into his life, I think they made him stand there just to foreshadow but he had already dyed his hair before lol
If he did dye it on that scene then he must have been like :

Also, no. The first time we see him is after the stain incident and the league of villain gets fame because of him. They show people like Spinner, Toga, Dabi, etc when they talk about people who might be interested in joining the league because of Stain's morals.

It kills me that Shoto is completely innocent in this situation and here is suffering at the hands of his family again. It’s amazing he’s still so kind-hearted to be honest.

Yeah same here, but I didn't care too much. The worst spoilers are the ones that tell you the direction of entire plot.

@@WhatsIQ There's plenty of (less important) characters seen with similar abilities to existing characters, and even so the blue fire is there to distance him. There's a plethora of other reasons but it doesn't really matter, the amount of people who did and didn't know speaks for itself.
It's a MASSIVE shame that you guys were spoiled about the Dabi reveal however I'm super super glad you guys just decided to own it rather than attempt to feign a reaction to it. It would've been easy to do and we all would've bought it, but nevermind! The story moves on, there's plenty more to come. Just avoid the comments like the plague and you'll be good!

That sucks, Dabi dancing having the time of his life is literally my favorite panel of the manga. It was such a big moment of this series for me

I'm actually impressed that I was never spoiled. I remember having this thought when Dabi was first introduced I thought that there could be a relation but then we saw other Fire quirks and Dabi had been around for so long that I just kind of assumed that wasn't the case.
I figured it out because of their eyes and how he taunted Shoto in season 3.
I've seen a bunch of people speculate when Dabi's quirk was revealed in season 3, but most people kinda let it go since the show went off other tangents.
Any reason you’re not reacting to this show?
Sucks you guys got spoiled, but it wasn't much of a secret in the first place at least. I always had a suspicion Dabi might be related to the Todoroki's in season 3, and pretty much got confirmed in season 5 when Dabi and Endeavor had their chat after the Nomu attack.
This reveal was still amazing, you can really tell how much Stain has influenced Dabi.

"It's like a Luke, I'm your father moment" that's exactly what it is, Horikoshi is a big Star Wars fan, as you can tell from all the place names like Dagoba Beach, Jaku hospital, Kamino City, Tatooine Station, Wookies Shops, or even the fact AFO mask looks like Darth Vader, one of Lumillion's attacks is Phantom Menace, and Tailman costumes looks like Luke Skywalker.
If I remember correctly, the kids did some kind of white elephant game where everyone picks a random gift. Deku bought the all might keychain and Uraraka picked it 😁
And then he got uraraka’s gift, which was a thing of mochi
To be fair I dont evne think i was fully in the fandom when I got spoiled on this. I think when the reveal happened in manga it was everywhere so one visit of twitter cost me :D

The voice actors for both the subbed and dubbed version of this episode for Dabi did an AMAZING job
They did. Although if I had to choose, I'd say the Japanese version sounded more unhinged.
They were both great! And usually, I'd give the higher rating to the English dub(just my preference)but this time, the Japanese seiyuu just KILLED it with the unhinged glee! And Shoto's VA did amazing as well. They went all in for this scene!

I think everyone was guessing Dabi's secret and spoiling it even before the manga reveal. Is the worst kept secret in entertainment history. XD
Manga readers were getting so hyped up by the Secret Todoroki reveal that they basically saw Todorokis everywhere, a really popular one being Geten the ice villain from the Meta Liberation Army. Because of the hood obscuring his face, a lot of people first assumed he was secretly Natsuo Todoroki.

You guys haven't posted reactions on RUclips for this show since this episode. Idk if you're just taking a break from posting the reactions on here or what, but I think it'd be nice if you could communicate to your audience what's going on.
I have the same thought as yours. I checked their Patreon and the new episodes are there. Not sure when they'll be posting the videos here, tho..
Got the Dabi reveal spoiled to me weeks before this episode was released and it sucks man 😅
Toya inherited a power fire quirk from his father. But he also had a body that was resistant to cold temperatures and weak against heat because of his mother. As the temperature of flames increases, it's colour changes. For example, Shoto's fire has a temperature of around 700-800 degrees in Season 2. But Dabi/Toya's highest known heat level is 2,000 degrees.
So Dabi looks like he does due to a combination of the accident on the mountain with his dad and just the nature of his quirk. His flame burns so hot and strong that he damages himself if he goes to long or too hard. Couple that with him probably losing most of his skin in the accident so the skin grafts don't take and just burn so they basically staple this... leathered skin on him and call it a day. At least that is how I explained it to myself given the info we have learned so far in the show, I'm sure we'll get more details soon :)
Its also because he got the quirk factor for ice and a more powerful fire qurik. So the more he uses his quirk the more damage he gets as a result because his body has the quirk factor of ice not fire making him the worst possible combination.

Dabi supposedly perishing as a kid is likely what drove Endeavor further into the darkness. If that didn't happen then maybe his life could have turned around and he could have eventually become a good father.
As someone who started reading the manga specifically cause I kept getting spoiled only to find out that information on the newest chapter gets leaked four to five days before its official release.....yea. It's absolutely impossible to avoid spoilers. This fandom has no sense of boundaries, I swear.
In case you're reading this in the future, I'm curious: before you got spoiled, did you suspect this twist at all or was it a surprise?
People who read manga's always spoils people's fun. If you can't wait on what's going to happen next, then it's fine to read the manga, but don't be a jerk and spoil it for those who prefer to watch the anime

Did you forget? Endeavor can use blue fire too. Remember? He used it to incinerate the big muscle Nomu’s head in season 2

To be fair, people predicted this years before it was revealed in the manga. It was rather obvious to many. In fact, people were stating it as fact even before the manga revealed that Toya even existed.
It's the trope that most writers/directors fail with, giving enough details so that any reveal has the right impact but not giving enough away to spoil it. Think the Tobi/Obito reveal, I saw people stating that years before it was actually revealed. I think with the only prominent fire quirk users in the beginning of the series being Todorokis, it was an easy leap to think the same about Dabi.
That's hardly the point. It was obvious to me, too, as obvious as "Oh, if Shoto is Zuko, whoever that blue fire guy is is Azula." I assumed Dabi was a Todoroki off of motifs alone. That doesn't make it any less asinine to say "Dabi is Endeavor's son" in comment sections TWO years ago to anime-only people. That's not even a conversation.
People could just have been memeing about it also your logic is just straight wack my fella.

i feel sad abt Dabi. He got the enhanced fire power which is stronger than his father but his body has the quirk factor for ice not fire from his mother. Making him the worst possible combination the more he uses his power the more he hurts himself. And to top it all of after the fire he lost most of his pain receptors making him impervious to pain to a point where he is ready to even kill himself to prove to his father. (SPOILER ALERT MANGA )Dabi was also one of the chosen ones to inherit all for ones quirk because of his hatred for heroes. He was one of the chosen one to be a vessel for all for one But he escaped from the hospital by burning it down cuz of his desire to get the acceptance from his dad eventually they left him and moved on

Welcome to the horrible people from the Internet, will always spoil and ruin things for every one. I predicted the Toya twist so it wasn't much shocking otherwise, but I think the VA's killed it, both dub and sub.
People spoiling things was there when the manga came out. Some people used spoiler titles and thumbs nails in MHA manga videos, so even if someone didn't watch those videos just having those videos come out on RUclips feed could spoil someone. God knows how many anime only watchers got spoiled two years ago when the manga was coming out.
@@Jjop017 I get spoiled all the time from assholes putting the twist or reveal in the thumbnail of something you're not supposed to know until you watch he episode. Happens all the time and I hate them for it. At least here it's just like a headshot of a character.
Being that I don’t read any manga for the anime I watch, avoiding spoilers is tricky sometimes
Admittedly, when I saw Best Jeanist I internally turned into the Grinch (Jim Carey's portrayal) when he 'slunk' to the fridge, only the fridge was Best Jeanist.
Weird, off the wall trivial note: Toga and Ochako's interlude is a great way to explain psychological noise to someone too. Ochako had no idea why Toga was asking the question, she had no idea what was going on in her head, and inadvertently answered in a way that was unrepresentative to what she would have done had she known all the details (I'm sure).
Yeah, spoiling on Todoroki was so rampant I'd be surprised if it was a shock to ANYONE at this point (at the time it came out).

10:28 blue flame is blue because it has enough oxygen to reach complete combustion and as such blue flames are hotter. Not sure if they just follow irl logic in the anime or his flames turning blue and hair white is supposed to symbolize the mix of his dad's flames with his mother's ice powers having happened at some point after he was presumed dead.
I have a toll story about dabi and mha itself I new a cosplay of shoto and I liked it but idk what she was dressing up
Tbh thats not that bad of a reveal for most people since it seems most people like me thought he was a Todoroki since S3 but what I hate is when people spoil other shows on a video unrelated
I remember picking up several signs for the dabi reveal so it was easy for me to figure out on my own, but it still sucks you guys got spoiled.
here's a spoiler-prevention tip. let's say you're just watching an opening/ending theme video of an ongoing anime series here in youtube, don't even try scrolling down and reading the comments since some people dropping heavy spoilers down there. not saying there will definitely be spoilers, just don't take that risk. I've been spoiled on other anime plot twists/reveals that way a couple times smh.
also watch out for *SOME* channels talking about manga content if you're an anime-only. you don't even have to click on them to get spoiled since their title and/or thumbnail alone could already be spoiler enough. I've blocked them afterwards but the damage has already been done.

Yeah, screw comments that spoil things like this. Luckily I avoided all spoilers so for me I was like "WHAAAAAAAAT?!!!" Since fire quirks are so common that would have been nothing to guess by, and since his are blue that seemed even less likely. Plus being told he was dead and some of his bones found, you figure that means he's really fuckin dead.
So there's no good indication but then since light novel readers spoiled it everyone acted all smug in the comments, particularly on this episode, like "but it was SO obvious though" lmao. By that logic I'm sure Hawkes is Dark Shadow's dad, etc.. etc... for all quirks that could possibly have any sort of connection.

This was spoiled for me as well which totally sucks. I always recommend for people to watch this series because of how incredible it is. I ALWAYS tell them to not read the comments though, or I tell them to watch a majority of the show and THEN start posting their reactions if they want to read the comments quicker. Because people make the most ridiculous comments sometimes that spoil stuff. On one reactor's page people were talking about characters and events that happened in the 3rd season when the reactor posted the 1st episode of the show!! I try to go through people's comments sometimes and tell people that they need to put a spoiler warning on their comments.

I said I thought Dabi was Endeavors son because he had a blue flame witch looked like ice mixed with fire, but I never said I knew he was his son, I never read the comics, I just went by what I saw on the show.

its not ice mixed with fire how will that work man. His fire quirk burns pure oxygen making it way more powerful than endeavors fire quirk also he has the quirk factor for ice so his body was basically suited for the ice quirk not fire . Because of this the more he uses the fire quirk the more he hurts his body as his body has the quirk factor which makes his overheating worse.
What happen with the intro?
People are pretty garbage and don't know how to let things unfold naturally. They want to be the ones to ruin the fun.

Although it was the "obvious" assumption that dabi is Toya, it sucks that ppl can't just keep their mouth shut. This is y I don't read manga cuz manga readers have this crazy prideful notion of always knowing what's going to happen
To be fair it was such a popular and common theory that it might as well not have been a reveal but even though people expected it it was still a good moment.

The spoiler is bad enough but it sounds like the way it happened made the situation worse. I was spoiled about this as well but it was still exciting to see it happen on screen. There was no excitement for them because they had to talk about the spoiler. People suck

Really sucks someone spoiled you guys im shocked that i avoided them but when the reveal did come i would have been more shocked if he wasnt toya just based off past meetings/events and endeavor using blue fire on the nomu back in season 1 (which i think i heard wasnt in the manga? although the manga is black and white)

I don't think Endeavor was all that bad. Sure he favored his more gifted children and let his anger and ambition get the better of him at times; but with Touya he seemed like a normal, loving father. He actually did a lot to help Touya master his quirk and wasn't pushing it when the fire was burning him. Is not Endeavor's fault that biology dealt Touya a bad hand with the no fire resistance. Obviously Touya would have felt somewhat rejected when he couldn't meet expectations, but at least Endeavor tried and invested some time into him to show he cared. No reason for Touya to turn out like he did. So many have a lot worse fathers.
Everything Dabi said is true, actuallyi him revealing the truth to society is not really wrong either.

To be fair, i think it's safe to assume many MHA viewers would have guessed or theorized that Dabi was related to Endeavor/Shoto, given their interactions in the past. Plus the way the reveal is done, the VA, everything is still great
