And people are like “sHe JuSt WaNtEd HiM tO pAy AtTeNtIoN”. Like, she could’ve yelled. And then Bakugou yelled back in retaliation. And she hit him. And then victim blaming. I have serious problems with this woman.
@@wooyeah1738 I know. I hate how people call her "cute" and "sexy" and "hot". It's just not ok. Plus even if she looks pleasing she's still a bad person.
Spoiler: Later in the manga, todoroki expresses how the way he was raised, and how a specific type of aggressive parenting is bad and harmful. Bakugo defends this however by saying that’s how he grew up, or ‘that’s how I was raised you know!’ But todoroki continues and bakugo, knowing that todoroki’s childhood was horrible due to overhearing the todoroki/izuku conversation before the sports festival, decides to not comment further by finishing with ‘is that so...’
That's also how I'm raised and wanting to hit kids are pretty normal to us 😂 but we don't hit them or anything, we just say we want to but we don'y actually hit them
holy shit i said the exact same thing when mitsuki was first introduced and everyone attacked me. i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks she is abusive.
same here, i wrote something like this under the crunchyroll clip and everyone acted like i was crazy... In my country you don't hit your child, not even once.
I haven't gotten that far but when I read that moment in a fan fiction going about Katsuki and We still have hope or something, I was absolutely shocked and infuriated. That is abusive and horrible. Most fanficitons show Mitsuki as a more non emotionaly abusive parent so I was shocked.
This is kinda long but i want to go more in deapth on the Psychology: Bakugou’s mom litteraly said that it was his fault he was captured and that he was weak, and literally right before the last episode, when Bakugou had a mental breakdown venting out everything to Deku, Bakugo exsplained that everything was his fault Allmight was like that, and that he was weak for getting captured. Based on exsperience, we tend to think what judgment put on us by our parents, to be true. And if its horrible stuff like that, especially after a tramatice event like that you are 100% going to believe it. Its the same thing as a mom telling their child, they where the reason why her husband died. If that parent keeps ingraining that into the child’s mind, they start to question their sanity; it will get even worse if that child is completely ignored by everyone else. This is exsactly what happened to Bakugo. His mom said it was his fault and that he was weak, therefore believed it. No one from class A bat an eye to acctully check if his mental health is okay, instead (if i remember) they laughed at the thought of Bakugo being scared, the teachers didnt even check to see he was mentally okay. Why didnt Bakugo go to Kirishima or any counciler? You may ask. Well: 1. He has known Deku the longest, and they used to be friends, (again based on experience) we tend vent to people who knew us in thr past but we barely connect to them now, as a means of telepathicly saying “i dont want anyone to know this but i do need to tell someone how im feeling”. 2.Based on #1, Bakugo continues to cut ties with Deku by litteraly fighting him, again because of his guarded nature. He is fighting as a way to still seem strong and to show that it wasnt his fault and that he could of beaten all of the villains with his power. The writers did amazingly well with the lead up to Bakugou’s break down, as well as accurately portraying teen mental health and the reason behind all of their actions. From Deku careing more about other people than himself, Bakugou being very guarded about himself, Toderoki’s introverted nature. All of them have their issues.
Your psychology is true he must’ve had a lifetime of trauma to tell someone to kill themself. I love how u stated it. Just like endeavor bakugou is trying to change but most ppl don’t want him to change. I’m not a bakustan but I respect his growth
@@sisam3262 the stereotype of Asian parents needs to be stopped because its just giving them an excuse to be abusive, and since its so normalized no one bats an eye or cares. Stop using that excuse and also don't say thats how you were raised and turned out fine :)
Am I the only one who noticed that when we finally got to meet Bakugou’s parents, she slapped him when he did NOTHING wrong? Honestly you could see him just sitting there calm and quiet and she smacked him over the head. It didn’t exactly sound softly either. That really didn’t sit right with me when I first saw it.
And Masaru (dad) let it happen. Even Aizawa and All Might looked uncomfortable being there, you could tell that even if it was written as a “”joke””, the in-universe characters we’re still upset.
@@raeishere0 No. The first time Mitsuki hit Katsuki (when he was being QUIET) it was to get him to pay attention. After she hit him he acted rudely but, he NEVER acted as if he saved himself. I don't know where you got that.
@@yourmajesty9589 Have you ever considered the way Bakugo acts? If he acts that way you should expect his family to as well. She didn't smack him that hard. She lightly smacked him.
The thing with Asian and South-Asian cultures is that parents automatically expect such conformity from their children it can often be abusive. But yes, I love that Bakugo’s ambition is HIS own. I cannot help but feel inspired by that. Subbed!
Hispanic parents as well! Maybe not as much as Asian or South-Asian, but dang do we have our share. 😨 lol!! I love also love Bakugo though, he's so his own person and knows what he wants and has goals. I am also super inspired by him 😍❤
Black parents as well, my mother expects so much from me and when I'm "Weak" or not up to standards I get yelled at, beaten and get everything I love taken but afterwards she claims she "Loves" me, but if she actually did she would understand why I can't meet her standards while the bar is set so high. She is homophobic, transphobic and only had me because she wanted me to give her grandkids, NOT BEING SATISFIED WITH THE FACT THAT SHE ALREADY HAS GRANDKIDS, nothing is ever enough.
@cr4zy_br4t60 I'm so sorry that you are your dealing with that. Just so you know, you're not alone. (I'm going thought something similar to your situation) you are very strong and im proud of you for being here while dealing with all of this. It's gonna be okay some day
bakugos such a sad character, i love this video. people forget that he has canon anxiety, trauma, ptsd symptoms and inferiority/superiority complex. edit : i made this comment a year ago and i don’t rlly like bnha now lmao it’s funny to see y’all’s comments.
Mitsuki and Bakugou’s relationship is like: You tell a child that they did something wrong and keep repeating it till they become successful. It’s engraved in their mind, thinking that they are either cause of someone’s death or they are weak and they’ll never get through life. It’s like the more you blame on a child, the more they believe it. If your a mother or a father, you should teach them from their wrongs in a nice and calm way, not in some aggressive teacher way. Because they’ll always think, *”Parents are right, and we are wrong. We should look up to them, to fix what we have done.”* edit: hai, how ya doin’ today? 😊
@Maddening Hustle69 So, literally repeating what his mom said about him being weak whilst having a breakdown and venting to Deku is not intentional and suspicious?
@Maddening Hustle69 Running gags like these are often reflections of toxic traits of the cultures that use them. They're not harmless tropes. The author is most likely using it to exemplify wrong behaviours. Note how All Might and Aizawa were uncomfortable when watching that.
I CAN SAY FORM EXPERIENCE THIS IS TRUE YOU CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY TIMES I SAY IM DUM WHILE CRYING CUZ PEOPLE AROUND ME PROJECTED ME AS LAZY AND DUM SO I HAVE 100% RIGHT TO SAY THIS. IS. TRUEEEEEE- i need therapy ✨
best video. ive seen people endlessly praising mitsuki saying bakugo deserves that treatment; which, as someone who has had experience with abuse, is a little hard to hear lmao. thanks for this 👍
Wait people are actually praising mitsuki? Wtf that's messed up. The very reason he's like that is because of her. I know most people who are emotionally abusive don't know they are, but praising her for her actions to bakugou is messed up. Imagine you having to deal with that ever since you were a child, you would gain the same personality. It's obvious with how Bakugou is acting with his explosive behaviour that there's something wrong with how he's been treated. It always starts with the parent and the environment you grow up in, so I wouldn't blame Bakugou for being the person he is. I get how she only wants the best for him, but they need some serious counselling
Inactive - don’t use this account as often that’s terrible! I think people who’ve never been emotionally abused can’t see it in mitsuki, but the parental dynamic between her and masaru is terrifying to me. It reminds me of my parents, and how if my mother ever tried to defend herself, my dad would condemn her and say that she was weak (which is basically what Mitsuki said about bakugo). My dad left a few months ago, so my mom and I are doing great, but I hate how my friend always compliments Mitsuki but I have to remember she’s never been emotionally abused so I have to give her the benefit of the doubt. I hope that makes sense lol
@Inactive - don’t use this account as often ikr once I came upon a bakuguo hater video in which people commented how he deserves pain and abuse. and how much they wish he was dead or a villian and stuff . it seriously pissed me off .
Yes but everyone already sees it and hates Endaever for it. Nobody sees the Abuse that Katsuki is going through. People just wrote it off as a Joke or said he deseved it. Which is not okay. No wonder Katsuki ended up being an Asshole if he gets Emotionaly and Physicaly Abused so much that it is the normal for him. I hate Bakugou's mom for treating him this way.
@@junito8423 even if it's portrayed as a joke it does explain a lot. Due to his mom's personality Bakugo clearly doesn't take any physical punishments as seriously as other kids might, and while he would give some weight to her words, odds are they aren't the type to have any deep talks like Deku has with his mom
@@darknessknows1235 I just don't think it was meant to be taken seriously. I mean after the joke was over she seemed kinda sweet while talking about him.
I would also like to say that most abuse is toned down when others are around and since misuki SLAPPED kasuki while people from outside of the family were around, imagine what it would be like behind closed doors
A big factor of emotional abuse is your abuser being nice or affectionate towards you after they committed said harmful act, leaving you to wonder if it's just you being over dramatic and forgiving them.
ngl, When he AND his mother was introduced I was very confused.confused on why Bakugo acts the way he is, mistaking affection as pity, being so aggressive, saying "THATS HOW I WAS RAISED" after talking about violence. And when Mitsuki appeared I was even more confused because of how she constantly hits him even though he didnt do anything. The first time he smacked him on the head, Bakugo was silent and doing nothing, just staring at the floor.Don't get me wrong I am asian as well and I always seem to witness abuse in my cousin's house.I found that the abuse i see in my cousins' is similar to Bakugo's: Both of them didnt do anything but were still hit anyway.I was genuinely confused on how Bakugo seemed to be "comedic relief" even after his mom called him a b**ch and weak which is the things he hates being called most.
@Eggfriend that’s in the show we are talking about the fandom. The fandom reacts and pays attention to todorokis abuse. I see bakugo as not abused tho. Maybe he wasn’t in the best environment. I think bakugo and Mitsuki act how siblings act. (Angry, strange, and act like they don’t care but secretly care about they’re sibling)
I agree. Baku's Mom is abusive and i hate her for that. And don't come with shit like "She is deciplining him". The moment you intentionally hurt your kid physically or emotional you did something abusive. Intentions don't matter. If you hurt your kid intentionally you are a piece of shit who should rot away in prison.
Also the fact that bakugou feels guilt for All might loosing his power shows something. He himself was convinced that “I was weak and that’s why I was kidnapped.” He literally says that. Also I somehow feel like his mother (unintentionally) made him only value power in himself. That’s why he is so obsessed with it.
I loved this video so much. I love Hero Academia and Bakagu's story. Also, I just enjoy listening to your voice. You are always just so poetic with your voice, so your voice is so relaxing to me lol
Honestly people seem to always hate Bakugou for being aggressive and mean but looking back on his childhood, how he was raised, and all the crap he had to go through you cant blame him too much. He's been through alot and his mom blames HIM for half of it. He has nobody, or thinks he has nobody, to talk to. So he uses aggression. Its really heartbreaking
I would say she is verbally abusive. I can’t speak for the slapping of the head because in my culture and many others that is discipline. Bakugou didn’t flinch when she went to pat his head so I guess there is nothing wrong with it. It depends on your perspective tho.
@@getnickrolld1439 i was physically abused aswell by my dad when i was 10 and i dont see violence or physical discipline as discipline if parents rely on violence because they cant teach their kid right are bad parents . There are many ways to discipline their kids without having to use violence or hurt their child. My dad beat me and i didnt learn shit the only thing i learned is to not stand up for myself and being scared for my life leaving me up till now with ptsd symptoms. This is not the way. I lost my voice. I lost to stand up for myself. I lost to have the rights to have respect! thid is just my story many people might see physicall disciplinen diffrent but i dont think it should be an option
Purple 7 I see where you are coming from and I’m sorry that such a thing happened to you. I hope that you get better one day. I can’t truly agree with you, however. I just also see the perspective as someone who comes from a culture where children get spanked or smacked a little if they are disobedient. I’m not saying it’s not wrong, it really just depends on what background you come from. Some people learn to tolerate it more and learn as a form of discipline while to others it comes off as plain violence (in this case). Not to get religious here or anything, but I wouldn’t do it to my child if I had one. I don’t have the greatest background, but I was, fortunately, raised for most of my life after the day my parents turned Christian. By that, they stuck to a more verbal approach (discipline not abuse btw). In addition, I learned from my mother who is studying to be a psychologist, that talking is much more effective than a physical approach, thus, why I would always stick to talking. But like I said it depends on the chemistry between the child and the parents and what environment they live in. However, there is a line between discipline and just plain abuse so I’m not saying anything is justified. I feel like I am just repeating myself so I’ll just end it here.
ive always had a feeling that mitsuki was abusive because the way bakugo uses anger to guard himself was really similar to me doing it, and I've got a mother kinda like mitsuki so i figured there was something else making him act that way. it really fucking sucks hes had to go through this man. it's not fun and at this point i want to give him a hug.
Thank you for making a video. I remember trying really hard to convince some of friends that watch anime that he WAS ABUSED. All they said is “Oh she didn’t hit him hard tho” “it wasn’t like that at his childhood” “Doesn’t excuse his actions” “She isn’t abusive cmon, todorokis dad IS” and it was useless because they don’t know what an abusive parent is. (I mean it’s good that they don’t but being able to see abuse is good as well.) Now I have a video to show them) I hope they’ll listen to someone who isn’t me talking about how “you are weak that’s why you were kidnapped” isn’t ok.
A bit of a Thank-You: Showing the way Bakugou acts with your own words is a good thing to hear. The music of suspense, thought, and more of emotinal ways is the way to show some information. Bakugou at a moment from this hides his true self easily. He doesn't want anyone to interfere through his problems. His attitude shows he doesn't really care for anyone, doesn't want anyone to care, and is really physical. His mother shows these ways telling him he is a threat. It's a hard time to accept kindness for him because his attitude is off his moments. Nothing really holds him back, especially when he gets it from his mother. I looked up what bad thing when you're suicidal for him, and checked he might have PTSD (POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER) and wanted to say this: the way you express his feelings and personality was perfect. Thank you.
I'd like to mention the sludge villain incident. Have you seen ANYONE asking him how he feels and if he's actually fine. No. They just praised him for holding up instead of checking for his mental well-being. Yes, Katsuki is tough and brave, but he is a fucking teenager and this is one of the topics, which bother me the most. These characters aren't young adults, they are underaged kids and one of them was kidnapped by a group of MURDERERS and nearly got killed at the age of what? 14? Yet just a few ep after it was acted like fucking nothing happend. Noone even bothered asked him if he needed mental support from a professional. This kid still suffers from the sludge incident TODAY. Have you ever noticed that Bakugo's clothes got bigger and loser after the incident or how he always makes at least a few people stand behind? Well guess who got completely constricted at the point this shit went inside his mouth and he couldn't breath and got attacked from his back - yes this explosive aggressive kid. Instead of people even bothering to care about the following traumas he might suffer he got fucking mocked and made fun of it. He could have literally DIED. Btw I'd like to mention that there is the really plausible theory, aka scientific fact that nitroglycerin makes your heart rate lower dramatically and if he's not constantly stressed out and produces a lot of adrenaline he could literally pass out. This would also explain his mothers similar behavior, as a backlash of their quirks.
Bro, I'm in love with this because you actually know what you're talking about. Because it is clear that he is abused, but most people I have met use the excuse "Oh it is not abused because it was normal in Asian cultures." That is one stereotype and not true. BUT thank you for actually knowing what you're talking about. I love Kacchan's character and I love how other people can clearly see Misuki's not so great parenting skills.
Not to get emotional or anything, but this makes me realize why I like bakugou as a character so much. I looked up to him in the past because he was confident, strong and fiery, and I wasn't like that at all. Now I realize how much we actually have in common. We've both gotten this idea in our heads from an early age that we needed to do well and succeed or else we wouldn't be worth anything. We both hate the thought of needing help because we feel like we shouldn't need it. We both blame ourselves for not being enough. Externally, though, we handle these in different ways. He hid his insecurities through being aggressive and violent, I hid mine through people-pleasing and staying quiet.
Okay, here’s my opinion. I do think that Mitsuki truly loves and cares about her son. But just like Katsuki, she doesn’t know how to properly express herself. She might be emotionally abusing him without realizing it. A lot of people say that Mitsuki hits and yells at him to put him in his place for being disrespectful towards her. But from what l seen, Katsuki inherited his mother’s anger and aggression. In the episode, she said that Katsuki was like that because of the praise. That might be half true, but as a parent, it’s her job to properly raise her child and teach him how to be a decent human being. (Sorry if my english sucks, it’s not my first language lmao-)
FINALLY! Someone who understands! I've always thought about things like this (mostly because of some experience). You also said a whole lot more that I haven't thought of, it made me cry. Here are my theories, if you're curious. I just wanna say something to all the people who hate Bakubro. No one gets angry over nothing, no one bullies for no reason. A few days ago my brother and I were talking (I'm not going into detail as this is a bit private). Basically, he had no one to talk to, he always did the wrong things. He felt as if he couldn't talk to anyone, even he and his dad weren't close. He was pretty much your stereotypical bad boy when he was around 11-13. It got me thinking about Bakubro. He doesn't seem close to his parents and even though his dad seems like a really nice person, you have to feel as if you can trust the person you're talking to, but since they aren't that close it makes it difficult. Some words can hurt him and some mean nothing at all. I think maybe that Bakubro didn't get much attention from his parents when he was younger, in the episode, they show his house it looks quite big and modern, which probably means his parents are rich, which is why he never got much attention as a kid, maybe because they were always busy. I'm not saying his parents are bad people, I'm saying that maybe they were just a bit too busy. This comes to the conclusion as to why Bakugou wants to be the number one hero. I think Bakubro wants to get his parents attention, especially his mum's. After all, she does call him a "brat", and most brats are useless. Maybe when he was a bit younger he started thinking a lot. So now he doesn't just want to prove the world wrong, he wants to prove himself wrong. When you have no one to talk to, it can make it hard to express your feelings (speaking from experience), which is why I think he tries to act all tough. Now that I'm typing all this down, it makes me want to meet Bakubro even more. What if my theories are right? Then I'd have someone who'd understand. The thing is, nothing that I know of has been confirmed, so I guess we'll just have to wait. Here's another theory. What if Bakubro bullied Deku because he actually likes him? As I said, it's hard to express feelings. What if he felt like that Deku would ruin his chances of being number one? What if he thought if he bullied Deku, he'd lose feelings for him. Because for some people their number one priority is happiness, and what if Bakubro thinks that the only way he'll be happy is by proving everyone wrong? That is just a theory of mine, but I think it makes a lot of sense, I don't care how offensive your opinion might be, so please if you have a different opinion please reply back. I want to know what everyone else thinks. After all, we're all different, so we all have different opinions and theories. I love you Bakubro. (I know he isn't real, but I like to imagine a world where I talk to him. Feel free to judge me all you want!) 🧡💚
I hate it when people call bakugo or anyone 'heartless' because everyone has a heart of gold it is if that gold is clean and shiny is when we only see how much it is worth. What I am trying to say is us humans only see what is on the outside, if you have a dirt covered piece of gold you can't see the worth of it. Only when you take care of it and clean it can you see it's true worth, and everyone is worth more then world.
I've never been able to stand Bakugo for the most part; almost everything about him was tailored to piss me off. I hate bullies, I can't stand cocky "everyone sucks but me" kind of characters, I hate when amazing powers are wasted on characters who SEEM to not have the personality God gave a pile of mud, and other triggers. When I see Bakugo I see a lot of those traits, but even I have to admit that distaste is tempered by his genuine, if self serving, desire to be a hero. Even if it's to validate his ego; one built up by everyone around him except Mitsuki for the most part, the kid still wants to be recognized as a hero. Hearing this kind of psychological breakdown of Katsuki and his further development as a character; it's taking him further and further away from characters I tolerate with clenched teeth to a character I actually enjoy.
BigBotoBoyz fr. and i hate how the fan base babies him like “awe he’s just misunderstood”. no. he’s a dick. he literally told deku to kill himself in the first episode
I may be late to this but you can also see when he is having a mental breakdown infront of deku he repeats the words his mom told him about “not being strong enough” / “too weak” or “it’s my fault” And he also says that “it keeps playing on a loop in my head”. He also takes being a hero too seriously as in he said ‘he would break himself because that is what heros do’ which makes me think he was raised with the mindset of being strong and covering up everything. He yet again also wants everyone to use all their power on him as in that he has to ‘prove’ something, like if he doesn’t wanna let anyone see him as “weak” and wants to come off as “never giving up” person. I haven’t completed the anime so I may be wrong but from what I’ve seen, I have always liked bakugou because of we all know what type of character he really is. He basically had a rough childhood and my sister who has anxiety and panic attacks said that he seems to be having them in certain scenes which most people laugh at- but I don’t wanna sound a like someone who ruins the fun and is overreacting but ehhhh
Wow lol. That’s how I was raised too. I never understood why I resonated with kacchan so maybe that’s the reason why. I have the same mentality as him tbh (but I am more tame than him. Haha.)
Honestly same. I only got comfort when I stopped crying, not when I was crying. As if it took a moment for my mom to get slapped by guilt. Same with being more tame. I was raised similarly to him but less aggressively physical, more aggressively emotionally. Us: 🤝 kin bakugo
He most likely was abused for not being good enough, so once everyone looked up to him he desired that love and praise, making him grow up to think he is above the rest.
As someone that personally dealt with a toxic parent growing up, that's how I developed traits like Bakugo...literally, I was aggressive, isolated, depressed, I bottled up all my emotions so I would react to everything in anger. I had huge insecurity issues and the only person I could rely on was myself. As I watched MHA, I realized I used to be Bakugo. Not as intense though, because at least my dad didn't hit me. I'm 23 now though, and got all my issues sorted out and made up with my dad for the most part.
This is a wonderful in-depth analysis of a character that on the surface seems one dimensional, but in actuality, is very complex. But I find that people who are quick to dismiss Katsuki as a “ troublemaker” do the same to real people. Everyone is the way they are for a reason, and until we have walked a mile in their shoes, we have no room to judge them. Does it excuse toxic behaviors? Absolutely not, but one would shun or hate someone for a leg wound, so why should we do it for a wounded heart and mind? I guess my point is, the world could stand to be a little kinder, a little more empathetic, and everything starts with us as individuals.
I’ve always related to Bakugo, and it makes me so incredibly sad when people just dismiss him as an abusive bully when he’s so much more. In just the first episode (the same he tells Deku to kill himself), he tells the other bullies to stop smoking cause it’ll ruin his reputation and go on his permanent school record, showing how serious he is about being a hero and getting into UA. Yes, he’s never apologized to Deku for hurting him and telling him to kill himself, but I totally think he will in the future. Their relationship has gotten to the point that, whether they like it or not, they trust each other with their lives, and honestly, it’s always been like that.
pomf pomf i agree i think they will become closer and bakugou will apologize, i just cannot understand why anyone could like him right now. he is literally as you said an abusive bully
Carter West Not anymore. Ever since episode one, he’s grown. He has friends who won’t take his ‘worst’ hue ll take is his half-assed nicknames. He’s gotten to the point where he’s said people’s names (kirishima mostly) and has shown respect and friendliness toward few. Hell, in the new OVA’s, he LETS Deku help him, in his own weird way.
I relate to Bakugo although not physically but I have been abused mentally and emotionally, I’ve been taking my anger out like him letting my anger rise up before I let it explode where I can’t control myself

yeah, especially with the slime villain incident; that shit must've traumatised him. What they did to him in the Sports Festival was appalling, but the fandom just overlook it because it was 'played for comedy'. It seems like people just don't care because it's Bakugou, lmao. Just imagine how different their reactions would be if it was Midoriya who they tied up in chains and muzzled. They wouldn't hesitate to jump in and screech about how their precious uwu baby doesn't deserve this, and that anybody who hates him is evil.
@@suguclipse So I'm evil- Anyways, the teachers were trying to be careful before he hurt someone, (especially Todoroki) and yes, it was really for the comedy. Plus Horikoshi confirmed that he doesn't has trauma, PTSD or any mental illnes. And actually, almost the whole fandom cares about him. °^°

No wonder I love him so much, I relate to him. My father and mother remind me so much of his parents, and I really hope he gets better. I think being away from home and in the dorms will do him good.
Not to mention but I would think as a mother who had nearly lost their child to powerful villains she would act more worried but no. Even though Bakugo is tough as hell, either she is completely confident in him or did not care, unlike Deku’s mom who gets very worried when Deku gets hurt. ALSO to blame her child after something traumatic does not sit right with me at all.
I’ve explained this to others before, and I’ve been told: “Yeah but he was older when she hit him, so it’s not abuse.” As we know and can see from this video, it has NOT just been when he was older. Also, age DOES NOT MATTER. Abuse is abuse, no matter who is the abuser, why they decided to do said abuse, or what age the victim is. It does not matter in the slightest. If you have ever endured abuse or think that you have, please speak to someone or do research on the topic(s)-Stay safe out there!
@@SlimyReiko I have yes, but you need to be able to have the thinking skills to point out these facts yourself-and I have. You should never believe something (especially on the internet) without proper knowledge and clues to support said information, and I have been able to see many clues before ever watching or tuning into other people’s depictions of it. It’s a matter of perspective and thinking-I’ve seen worrying things when it comes to Bakugou’s mental state and past upbringing in the show itself, so that’s the defining factor for me.
Me also knowing that later on she goes: “in all seriousness I care about Katsuki.. galah blah blah” *wondering how a lot of ppl forget about that part*
@@YoudonGettit How about take actual abuse seriously. Like Bakugou abusing and suicide baiting Izuku for 10 years. And not take a gag scene too seriously. It's bot like Bakugou hits Izuku and people are like "It's JuSt A GaG". Like no an abuse who abused someone for 10 years and does it again is not gag. But a scene that only happened once and played for laughs is a gag.
@@gammaphoenix5893 Abuse isn't a competition, it's a cycle. A kid acts the way he was raised. Bakugo was taught to express any emotion he feels with anger and yelling and when you look at his family it's obvious where it came from. I don't see why recognizing this very obvious pattern nullifies Deku being bullied but this video is about Bakugo.
@@YoudonGettit Where is it stated in the series. Which manga chapter? Bakugou is never abused and is stated to have the best childhood in all of class 1-A by Horikoshi himself in the data we got of all characters.
@@gammaphoenix5893 Jesus dude. Learn how to read a book and interpret it before you go in comments arguing with people because your reading comprehension hasn't grown past middle school. "Where is the exact line in the manga" is typical of people who don't think when they read... The evidence is simple : decades of human psychology and observation of Katsuki's behavior, his family and how they interact with each other. It being used as a running joke doesn't mean it's not abusive, it just means that Horikoshi uses it as a joke. Btw, abusive behavior is abusive even if othewise the kid has everything he wants and has a pretty swell childhood. Your ignorance of the topic doesn't change the facts.
I relate to his character so much that I guess I didn't realize how bad the treatment from my parents were...for a long while i thought it was normal for parents to do this to their kids. I see that's not true now
This is breaking my heart! Your facts and thoughts on this were perfect and i absolutely hate that this has been ingrained into him, that he was weak and it was his fault. I hate that the only way he can get attention is by making trouble. Hopefully it will get better as the show progresses
I've probably added like 100 views to this video by myself because my god. The rhythm combined with the amazing ass points, the voice, the background effects, the editing, the humor. Everything is just amazing and I think I'm addicted
everyone always overlooks his story, it makes me sad that his story is actually really deep and sad but most people overlook it all while paying attention to characters more like Deku. People pay attention to things like how Deku normally only cry’s from joy yet ignore that Bakugou clearly stated he was emotionally abused in many episodes. In some like the one mentioned in the video we even see it happen. I think people probably only overlook it because of the way they normally say it, like how they yell in a tone that sounds like it’s supposed to just be comedy and the faces they make while doing so. (not all episodes apply like the “Deku vs Kacchan” episodes, where he complete vented and let out more emotions) we can also tell he’s not to confident in himself, as clearly stated in multiple episodes from the anime. Most likely he covers up how he feels by putting others down (I don’t know to much about phycology but that would be my best answer)
It took an entire week without sleep to do from tip to tip, without leaving the house. Doing this actually made me realize I need to create more content I can release fast as well. BUT, I DO HAVE MORE PLANNED! Lots of Ideas and things I see this way.
Dang. This actually change my mind about Mitsuki. I still wouldn't call her a bad mom, cause a bad mom doesn't give a damn at all or put in any effort to raise their kid properly, which Mitsuki clearly has even if the way she does is very wrong. She does care about him and his goals and aspirations and likely encourages them. But you are 100 right that she is probably part of the reason Katsuki has such a Might is Right world view for so long and has difficulty expressing emotion in a way that doesn't involve his fist. I would enjoy seeing more of her to see if this is ever brought up or addressed, cause if Endeavor can be redeemed and forgiven or at the very least given a chance, I think the same can be done for Mitsuki.
This is what I've been saying for a long time. Since her intro! And when Todo called him out for trying to discipline the children in the way he wanted to, he said and I QUOTE "That's how I was raised and I turned out fine." It was undermined by a joking moment but that says a lot about who he is and how he grew up...
I see that hair petting scene between Mitsuki and Katsuki as a master petting a dog. Like.....she keeps talking AS SHE'S DOING IT! Keeps insulting him like he's not even there listening to her do it, whille he's sitting there visually being mad about being smacked over his head! She's not seeing him as a human, she's seeing him as a pet who can't understand a single thing she's saying. Like......there is something seriously wrong with her head. I feel like she's in some ways WORSE then what Endevor did to his wife and kids and either way it's really not ok.
I agree with Mitsuki being abusive, treating your child like that especially from a young age shapes a human being(I've seen it with my own eyes), I also agree with the fact that Bakugo being abused doesn't give him a free pass for how he treated the people around him though I think that Bakugo is surrounded by people who can help him learn important things and he's on a good path for the future, and one day he can virbualy tell Izuku sorry! (Spoiler alert!!) (so far he's doing pretty good on the whole being a more descent human being, especially with the whole sacrificing himself for Deku!!)
Everyone: gushing about Bakugou's mental health and stuff Me: "STOP HITTING ON HIS MOM!! YOU JUST EXPLAINED THAT HE WAS ABUSED IN SEVERAL WAYS BUY HER!"
I cannot fathom why people love his mom so much. If she is brave enough to literally slap her son in front of teachers, I can only imagine what she does when there aren't other adults. She claims the reason he is how is is because of all the pampering from people when he was younger when she literally abuses him like. She is the reason he's so awful and she doesn't even realize it
don’t forget to add how in the first few episodes he was attack by a villain, and then during the sports festival the, so-called, heroes chained him up and muzzled him as if he was a animal, dehumanizing him. don’t say “he was having a tantrum, they had to do something” they could’ve done anything else, but they decided to lock him up? in my opinion, he 100% will have PTSD from the his first villain attack but then they decide to chain him up the same way he was stuck in the villain.
I think that Mistuki thinks her son can't be raised another way. She doesn't see any other way. She calls him weak and that kidnapping was his fault, thinking that he will change after this. But he did not, the real thing that can change him is a *rival.* A rival that came out of no where and is stronger than him. Someone that challenges him to change to the better. I think Deku could fit in these rival thing. When they fight, Katsuki cries. He shows his real confusion and that he is blaming himself. "I destroyed All Might!"- that's what he said. "So what the hell I'm supposed to do?!". He doesn't know what he did wrong, blames himself for his idol's lost. I'm pretty sure that he just can't say if someone *actually cares* or is looking down to him- thanks to Mitsuki, she calls him weak but is his mother and wants the best for him. That's the problem here, he needs to change. I'm not expecting him being nice, but at least he should show more emotions than anger. And for that something must happen. He needs to understand that his feelings doesn't make him weak, that some people (like bakusquad and Deku) want to help him, not make fun of him. I belive that the creator will do good work and make Deku and Katsuki friends again, Bakugou doesn't even know how much he needs positive relationship with someone who is strong, knows him very well, cares about him and would say things that make him become a better person at the same time. We need to wait for another season. *That. Was. Long. To. Explain.*
This is exactly why I find Bakugo to be the most interesting character of the series. His psychological state is actually quite complex at first glance.
people hate bakugou for his angry personality, but like,, have you seen how he was raised? it’s no surprise he turned out angry, raised with a mom who hit and yelled at him. she told him he was weak, and it was his fault for getting kidnapped, despite the fact that he had no control over it. “-and causing so much trouble in the first place!”, congrats @mitsuki, now your son genuinely believes it was his fault he ended the number one hero’s reign. imagine carrying that guilt when you’re only 15-16? being told and believing that you just ended someone’s entire livelihood?
,,,,,,,,everytime i see someone talk about the scene where bakugou's mom hits him in the back of the head i go "oh gib slap!" bc that's what we call it in my house (it's named after the way a character lightly taps his coworkers on the back of the head) so anyway i guess im saying that scene rlly reminds me of my mother
ok but when she hit him he was literally just sitting there
listening
being quiet
And people are like “sHe JuSt WaNtEd HiM tO pAy AtTeNtIoN”. Like, she could’ve yelled.
And then Bakugou yelled back in retaliation.
And she hit him.
And then victim blaming.

Later in the manga, todoroki expresses how the way he was raised, and how a specific type of aggressive parenting is bad and harmful.

This is kinda long but i want to go more in deapth on the Psychology:
Bakugou’s mom litteraly said that it was his fault he was captured and that he was weak, and literally right before the last episode, when Bakugou had a mental breakdown venting out everything to Deku, Bakugo exsplained that everything was his fault Allmight was like that, and that he was weak for getting captured.
Well:
Bravo!
That was amazing :o

@Maddening Hustle69 having a easy childhood doesn't mean that the person isn't suffering?? Many people have different circumstances.....
Mitsuki and Bakugou’s relationship is like:
You tell a child that they did something wrong and keep repeating it till they become successful. We should look up to them, to fix what we have done.”*
edit: hai, how ya doin’ today?

A big factor of emotional abuse is your abuser being nice or affectionate towards you after they committed said harmful act, leaving you to wonder if it's just you being over dramatic and forgiving them.
I love this video so much. Most people just say “anime logic”. But no, this anime doesn’t do that. This anime doesn’t overlook anything.
ngl, When he AND his mother was introduced I was very confused.confused on why Bakugo acts the way he is, mistaking affection as pity, being so aggressive, saying "THATS HOW I WAS RAISED" after talking about violence.

I feel like I am just repeating myself so I’ll just end it here.

and it was useless because they don’t know what an abusive parent is. (I mean it’s good that they don’t but being able to see abuse is good as well.)

A bit of a Thank-You:
Showing the way Bakugou acts with your own words is a good thing to hear.
The editing and script for this video are truly Grade A, well done Amra, well done.
3:54 this frame called me psychologically abused in 7 different languages and I just wasn't ready for it
I really hope he gets better
I hate how some people justify her by saying:"She’s just disciplining him!". No. Hell no she’s not.
I want to give him a hug
Finally someone said it
Bakugou is just a bitch
BigBotoBoyz fr. and i hate how the fan base babies him like “awe he’s just misunderstood”. no. he’s a dick. he literally told deku to kill himself in the first episode
Carter West facts, I would be kind of ok with him if he was written with a reason to be a dickhead, but no. He’s just a dickhead to be a dickhead
BigBotoBoyz exactly. his mom smacking him around a lil but does not excuse his actions.
I may be late to this but you can also see when he is having a mental breakdown infront of deku he repeats the words his mom told him about “not being strong enough” / “too weak” or “it’s my fault”
And he also says that “it keeps playing on a loop in my head”.
Bro how much am I gonna relate to Katsuki-San.
This sounds like slam poetry. Beautiful.
Damn I relate to bakugo always being mad at the world feeling like it’s your fault & your not enough
I guess my point is, the world could stand to be a little kinder, a little more empathetic, and everything starts with us as individuals.
p r e e c h
Hell, in the new OVA’s, he LETS Deku help him, in his own weird way.
pomf pomf true. but i still don’t think he’s a good person. to each their own
Thank you so much for making this. I've been saying this since I read that manga scene but no one believes me!
I relate to Bakugo although not physically but I have been abused mentally and emotionally, I’ve been taking my anger out like him letting my anger rise up before I let it explode where I can’t control myself
This is a video everyone needs to see and watch
Everybody overlooks the sports festival but like--
They CHAINED AND MUZZLED a teenager to a post, ON
L I V E T E L E V I S I O N.
sHOVED A MEDAL IN HIS MOUTH
that he had EVERY RIGHT TO REFUSE,
ACTED LIKE HR DESERVED IT AND SMILED--
That shit has to be TRAUMATIZING--
yeah, especially with the slime villain incident; that shit must've traumatised him.
@@kanadechibi Hurt somebody? Lmao. all he did was take him by his collar and shout at him. He wasn't gonna hurt him in any way. Either way, it's still wring of them to chain up a sixteen year old. If they wanted to be careful, then they should've stopped at the gas, they didn't have to tie him up. And I'd be overjoyed if you could inform me where Hori says he doesn't have PTSD/trauma?
@@suguclipse I accept your opinion, but still it was for comedy. I think- Plus for me Bakugo doesn't seemed traumatized. And sorry, but I can't. Oof. It was quarantine when I read that, and now I can' t find it. ;-; (sorry for my bad english)
@@kanadechibi I respect your opinion, too. Thanks for doing the same. It's all cool, and your English isn't bad at all :)
No wonder I love him so much, I relate to him. My father and mother remind me so much of his parents, and I really hope he gets better. I think being away from home and in the dorms will do him good.
Have you guys noticed that Katsuki slowly seems to get better while he´s staying at the dorms with the others, away from his mom?
So thiiis is why I love Bakugou so much.
@DorkyDoormat ! _....Bet._
You do?! YOU FUCKIN DO?!
I’ve explained this to others before, and I’ve been told: “Yeah but he was older when she hit him, so it’s not abuse.”
As we know and can see from this video, it has NOT just been when he was older.
Also, age DOES NOT MATTER. Abuse is abuse, no matter who is the abuser, why they decided to do said abuse, or what age the victim is. It does not matter in the slightest.
If you have ever endured abuse or think that you have, please speak to someone or do research on the topic(s)-Stay safe out there!
have you even thought about where he got this info it could all be fake
@@SlimyReiko I have yes, but you need to be able to have the thinking skills to point out these facts yourself-and I have. You should never believe something (especially on the internet) without proper knowledge and clues to support said information, and I have been able to see many clues before ever watching or tuning into other people’s depictions of it. It’s a matter of perspective and thinking-I’ve seen worrying things when it comes to Bakugou’s mental state and past upbringing in the show itself, so that’s the defining factor for me.
@@zombierottt yeah your right
Me also knowing that later on she goes: “in all seriousness I care about Katsuki.. galah blah blah” *wondering how a lot of ppl forget about that part*
Tbh for me the way Kacchan was trembling after the first hit lowkey alarmed me. Such a small detail that was overlooked
Exactly !
Thank you for explaining this so now I’m going to show this to my non-believing friends that I’m right and why I love him.
I honestly think that bakugo has problems and that he covers it up that's why he is my favorite I can kinda relate
Next can you do an episode of on bakugou's Dad
And how are he tries to extinguish the flames of his dysfunctional family
everyone always overlooks his story, it makes me sad that his story is actually really deep and sad but most people overlook it all while paying attention to characters more like Deku.
I love this style of video! You should try this stuff more often!
Awesome Review!!! Also His mom was never showed to stop him from bullying other kids and all of a sudden she wants to educate him??
I literally cried watching this
Wow... You just earned yourself a new sub, my guy
amazing video! loved it
last weeks episode put kachan in another perspective for me, this was really interesting
bro, my sister will not believe me when i say bakugos behaviour makes sense. maybe she’s gonna heccin listen to me now
This is what I've been saying for a long time. Since her intro! And when Todo called him out for trying to discipline the children in the way he wanted to, he said and I QUOTE "That's how I was raised and I turned out fine." It was undermined by a joking moment but that says a lot about who he is and how he grew up...
THANK YOU!!!! I KEEP TRYING TO SAY THIS
same lol
I see that hair petting scene between Mitsuki and Katsuki as a master petting a dog. Like.....she keeps talking AS SHE'S DOING IT! Keeps insulting him like he's not even there listening to her do it, whille he's sitting there visually being mad about being smacked over his head! She's not seeing him as a human, she's seeing him as a pet who can't understand a single thing she's saying. Like......there is something seriously wrong with her head. I feel like she's in some ways WORSE then what Endevor did to his wife and kids and either way it's really not ok.
Good quality content
Plain Simple
(Love the video style)
That's how i raised too i have anger issues mom still hits me for not being good enough
Awww I misjudged you Katsuki.😕
"Like Sasuke's B R O O D Y ASS"
I was crying and then I started laughing at the same time
I agree with Mitsuki being abusive, treating your child like that especially from a young age shapes a human being(I've seen it with my own eyes), I also agree with the fact that Bakugo being abused doesn't give him a free pass for how he treated the people around him though I think that Bakugo is surrounded by people who can help him learn important things and he's on a good path for the future, and one day he can virbualy tell Izuku sorry!
(Spoiler alert!!)
(so far he's doing pretty good on the whole being a more descent human being, especially with the whole sacrificing himself for Deku!!)
you should put a spoiler alert for anime watchers.
@@suguclipse Ok, sorry if I spoiled anything for you!
@@laggers740 no, no. It's all good ^_^
@@suguclipse Glad to hear it! ^_^
go do you research gng
What really sucks is people compare his abuse to todoroki like bro it ain't a contest just agree they both need therapy and move on
Now I have more in common with Bakugo.
Lol he went from complimenting Mitsuki to that depressing stuff 😂😂😂
Everyone: gushing about Bakugou's mental health and stuff
Me: "STOP HITTING ON HIS MOM!!
In honesty, Its more sadder because mainly everyone thinks he's the bad guy of the class half the time.
When I first saw the scene I thought it was funny but after watching this I feel terrible about not understanding what made that scene wrong...
people hate bakugou for his angry personality, but like,, have you seen how he was raised? it’s no surprise he turned out angry, raised with a mom who hit and yelled at him. she told him he was weak, and it was his fault for getting kidnapped, despite the fact that he had no control over it. “-and causing so much trouble in the first place!”, congrats @mitsuki, now your son genuinely believes it was his fault he ended the number one hero’s reign. imagine carrying that guilt when you’re only 15-16? being told and believing that you just ended someone’s entire livelihood?
People need to stop using the fact shes hot headed as an excuse. Bakugou is a victim.
,,,,,,,,everytime i see someone talk about the scene where bakugou's mom hits him in the back of the head i go "oh gib slap!" bc that's what we call it in my house (it's named after the way a character lightly taps his coworkers on the back of the head)
so anyway i guess im saying that scene rlly reminds me of my mother
