How MHA Nails it's Realism!

  • Hello comrades. With My Hero Academia Season 6 half-way done, I decided to come back to this show after years of waiting and, while watching from scratch, I realized that their world and society are VERY realistic, so much so, that some of the events are almost like from a history book! From how they integrated heroes and villains, to how new industries appears to support them - everything makes sense! Like, media completely destroying UA reputation because some bad guys jumped their camp, injuring many and capturing one of the students. You can't make this stuff up, this is straight out of our own televisions and I can assure you, this is not the only similarity. Hope you find this video about MHA society interesting and informative.
    Thanks' for watching. YOU ARE AWESOME!

    Sometimes, a hero's greatest enemy isn't the villain he fights, but the people he protects. I love that the villains are aware of this too and have been using it to take down the heroes easier. villains don't need super weapons or greater power than the hero to win. they just have to make them look bad and sit back as the media tares them apart.

    This is what I love about MHA, recently picked it up again. One thing I like too is that people can have the most dumbass Quirks. It's not like everyone gets super speed and flying. Nope, some people just get horns or tape elbows. Some make it work, some don't. Or that having an electric quirk isn't just good for superhero stuff, you can be very valuable in an industrial setting too.

      this is also why i like MHA you get an array of abilities that people use in some way for everyday life or being superheroes. yet they also keep in mind that their human still. their abilities need to be trained to increase their efficiency but there are limits for them and their body. like from the grape kid's head bleeding if he pulls too many off to fast or Endevor and Tortoraki being armed by the extreme temperatures from their quirks. it made making an oc more fun with extra thought to it than the usual superhero stuff.
      it reminds me of the book Searis Xanth by piers anthony. in the series in the land of xanth every one is bone with a magcical talent. Some have super powerful one like able to morph any one you see into anything else. greater an unlimited number of undead. some have useful one like summoning magical swords or stoping/rewinding time for some ones you see by a few sec. or you have just plain magical talent but don't really have a practical use for. like putting a colored spot on the wall, or changing th color of your urin. it a fun interesting read.

  • @AxnerSaab

    I can also see this more realistic, when they use the heroes as a scapegoat.
    Oh, a super powerful hero destroyed a whole city and the heroes can't do anything about it because the person is just that strong? Blame the heroes.
    This is a spoiler warning, which will probably come in later episodes
    When Deku came back to U.A after basically getting dragged back by his classmates, after hunting villains for many weeks with barely any sleep, breaks or food, the people had basically figured out he's the person that AFO is trying to catch. He wasn't allowed at first by everyone to be able to take a break from hunting villains by the people there, and they all blame the heroes for the situation that has occurred. Not taking it into account the fact that villains are quite unpredictable, especially on a large scale. And after having relied on heroes for many years it has finally started to backfire on society, so now they're using heroes as a scapegoat to blame them to get their frustrations out.
    I also remember something similar happening in Black Clover. When the demon had appeared, the king of the clover kingdom had nobody to blame. So they used Asta as a scapegoat to put all charges on because of him being "connected" to demons. When there's nobody to put all blame on, they try to put the blame on one person or an organization. Which is the heroes in "My Hero Academia".

That means the things you can make with it are much more limited since it can’t support the weight that modern concrete with steel braces can.

Also why are heroes only in cities and why are villains dumb enough to only attack places with a lot of heroes. Why wouldnt they move their crime elsewhere?

    • @mahistv
      @mahistv  10 месяцев назад

      1. Stain changed the world quite a bit, in a way that more villains started to emerge and organize. All-might's retirement did a similar thing, except with the emphasis on more villains feeling free to do stuff.
      2. You seem to forget that A LOT of these heroes joined PLF and weren't able to fight against them. Also. Think of it as police - they are abundant to deal with disorganized criminals across the country, but when you have to fight a literal army, that's a whole other scale of the problem.

    "I recall a certain superpower getting popular around 5th century Europe and in combination with a few other things resulting in almost a millennia of negligible scientific and cultural development." [Hot take about Christianity]
    Okay, so first off, that's bullshit. There were scientific (Mostly architecture, metallurgy and some medical) and cultural (Mostly art and the aforementioned architecture) advances during this period, they just didn't fall in line with the thrust of Roman or Middle Eastern directions. Oh and *speaking* of the middle east, lets talk about Islams scientific and cultural golden age, which just so happened to coincide with Europe's Dark age and the Islamic world sacking half of the western world at the time which contributed more to Europe's Dark ages than any mini ice age and famine, oh and lets not forget the Plague which killed off roughly half of Europe at the time, that contributed too. Pretty much all Western Roman and Byzantine holdings in Africa and the Middle East along with like 80% of the Byzantine Empire itself, and almost a quarter of what is now modern day Spain were sacked, conquered and turned into slaves by the encroaching Islamic nations at the time.
    Like, most of the Crusades were retaliatory in nature because of this encroachment and many actually succeeded in keeping out Islamic influences from Europe. People demonize the Crusades without knowing a damn thing about what actually caused them or why they were carried out. It's always (Rah Crusades bad rah) Context matters, here.
    Sorry to say but that horrible take just ruined the rest of the video for me.

    • @ComotoseOnAnime
      @ComotoseOnAnime Год назад

      @@mahistv You used 'superpower' while showing off both a nun and and a C&H scene of a guy chucking a bible. How else would someone take that other than derision towards Christianity?
      Rome's fall was a catalyst for the dark ages but it wasn't a total collapse until the Byzantine empire was all but burnt to the ground that much of it's culture and technology was lost. Which had nothing to do with the Christians at that point. Which is why I point out it being a hot take. Blaming the Christians for the dark ages when it was Arab aggression at the time that really kicked things off. The mini ice age leading to a famine and the famine leading to poorer health which only exacerbated the Plague that followed only compounded that.
      I'm annoyed at the implications that it was the Christians that were the main cause of the dark ages when it was Christianity getting is guts pushed in by conquerors and natural disasters that was the real cause, otherwise the golden age would have been in the west rather than the east.
      Edit: If that wasn't the case then I apologize for being confrontational, just bothers me is all.

      @@mahistv it really doesn’t. One punch man spends multiple arcs conveying and communicating how a real world would act if there was an organisation of heroes who function under rankings and public opinions. How the heroes only really care about their ranks and the public views, how the hero association puts more thought into pandering to the richest people bc they provide the most funding for the hero association. The threats all have threat levels which add points to rankings, the highest ranking heroes are the S class and they only reached that high bc they are superhuman freaks and they in turn are the most shallow and entitled of the group who struggle to function as a team bc they are so individually strong. Whereas my hero just does basic as shit like “rich higher ups keep charity money for themselves” etc. I think a good example of opm being just plain better in every way is how metal knight makes all of the hero associations technology which he uses to manipulate and control the security and removes or destroys the careers of the HC execs he doesn’t like and only keeps the ones he can manipulate the easiest. The top execs use their security and organisation to live luxury lives. One of them kept a threat level demon monster in the association bc it could rapidly heal any injury meaning they could cut it up and cook exotic meals with it for the rich members. When it escaped they sent deliberately weak heroes to fight it so that they would die and that would cause the association to increase its threat level naturally and send stronger heroes by default just bc they didn’t want people to assume something shady was going on by increasing its threat level to demon automatically out of nowhere before anyone could fight it to know its threat level. As a result a whole group of innocent people were going to die just bc the exec didn’t want people questioning how suspicious the situation was and throw him in prison when they discover what he did. Another example is how the hero association deliberately doesn’t send heroes around areas where the police are bc they want the police to be desperate for help when they are close to being destroyed so that when they send in heroes to help they can send in a ton of higher ranking A class heroes to easily destroy the threat. When they did this they leaked the situation to the news so that they can report the situation so when the heroes easily save the police it will make the police look weak in comparison to the heroes, they did this bc they wanted to remove state interference against the association which will force the government to let the hero association do whatever it wants with it’s authority without any pesky investigations or legal consequences. Opm just does realism so much better than mha and mha does it so surface level that it’s embarrassing.
