    l think it's the same reason ppl liked the hero killer stain in the story. We just admire ppl with conviction. Bakugo always wants to win, but he doesn't like to cheat in order to succed (and that's kinda noble). And the way he gets frustrated when he lose helps to empathize with him.

      bakugo doesnt bother me ,,bakugo fans does,,,he is as close to a real bully as u can get,'
      what he has is a messed up view,,and he was praised had a high status and made sure he punched down..,, real life bullies are not like the joker or thanos or even like all for one,,
      real life bullies are people who have been praised their whole life by teachers friends or even a couch,,and beat other people down to make them selfs feel better,,or beat anyone one who doesnt fit his view

The fact that Bakugo doesn't get any sort of justification for his past actions is one of the many reasons his character is better than others. (a side note; the original comment has been rephrased a year later, though the information is still the same)
    Surprisingly, Bakugo is actually not as much of an asshole as he makes himself out to be! His self doubt and insecurities are hidden well under a cocky and jerk-like attitude. I like this because he isn't JUST a bully, he actually has a personality and character. When you see him cry, it really hits you because he never shows his self doubt. I'd also like to talk about you calling him a side character. He definitely isn't a side character, he's probably one of the most important characters under Deku/Izuku Midoriya. He's best described as an anti-hero. I can tell he's gonna be very important to the growth of both the story and the other characters. Even after leaving the fandom for the most part, my opinion still stands. While I dislike him, he's not a bad character. I can see why a lot of people like him.
    AN EDIT: might I add that I am not biased by any means, I dislike bakugo but that doesn't stop me from analyzing his character from a respectful standpoint instead of being an asshole about it and pointing out why I dislike him. He's a good character, I just find him annoying at his core.

    Why people like Bakugou:
    He’s a very complex character. He’s got more opportunities for character development than almost every other person in the show. He tries to hide his true feelings behind his anger and arrogance. Because that’s one of the things that it takes to be a hero in his eyes. Now as someone who used to HATE him and now Absolutely LOVES him. My biggest turning point was the most recent arc in season 3 of the Anime. And Kacchan & Deku’s fight. When he showed how he truly felt and a “softer” side of him. Also Him and Deku’s growing relationship, and him totally being an amazing team leader and working together with people in the manga. Ahhhh!

    It's strange, because at the beginning of the show, Bakugo came off as the typical loudmouthed, violent bully. Having gone into this show completely blind, I didn't really see anything past that, character-wise. But even in the first episode, he stood out among traditional fictional bullies. And then as the first season went on, something changed. It made you _want_ to like this cruel, relentless bully. And because of that, it made me take his side, wanting to see him become a better person.

      I dont like bakugo. Bakugou always bullied Midoriya as a kid for the reason that he was quirkless and that Bakugou was stronger than him; referring to him as "Deku," which practically mean, "anything that sucks." Bakugou goes out of his way to make Izuku's life absolutely miserable just because he can... Alright fine; this is just a standard bully character, which is fine (kind of). But that's not what bothers me; apparently there's more to their relationship as to why Bakugou hates Midoriya so much; which I think is just a ridiculous reason. One day when Bakugou fell off an edge, Midoriya (after all the teasing Bakugou put him through) comes down and asks if he's okay, and Bakugou interprets this as Midoriya looking down on him... Like really dude? Come on. All he did was to see if you were okay. It's more difficult to even misinterpret that moment as Midoriya looking down on him, but I digress. It doesn't stop there either. After finding out that Deku had a quirk during their first day at UA; Bakugou immediately felt like he was "betrayed," that Deku "lied to him all this time about being quirkless," and that he "played him all along." Okay, this is what really pisses me off because he makes himself out to be the whole victim in this situation. Let's look back at first episode of the series. Right at the beginning, Bakugou beats Deku to a pulp for standing up to a child. 10 years later in one day: Bakugou humiliates Deku in front of all his peers, threatens him, hurts him with his quirk, destroys his hero booklet and tells Deku to kill himself... and we're not even through the first 12 minutes of episode 1. Bakugou does ALL THIS, and when he finds out that Deku had a quirk, he felt like Deku betrayed him... even though he didn't. Do I REALLY have to explain why this bothers me? If you were this big of an asshole to a character that did absolutely nothing to you, then maybe you deserved to be lied to and betrayed! At the beginning of the series, Deku was exactly as Bakugou described him as; a pebble on the side of the road that posed as no threat. But even knowing this, he still had to prove to himself that he was better than Deku. Sigh* let's move on to the second reason as to why I don't like Bakugou. HE IS GOOD AT EVERYTHING! Every single thing that happens in the anime and manga where the characters are being ranked, Bakugou cracks the top 3 Every. Single. Time. He has yet to be defeated by any of his classmates in anything and being able to defeat your opponents is one thing, but how he does it is something completely different. He doesn't have to rely on any strategy to defeat his opponents because his quirk is enough to get the job done. Going back to the sports festival; during the third phase where everyone starts fighting each other, Bakugou was the only character that was able to win his fights with out using new tactics and strategies in order to win and just relying on the power of his quirk. Why I Don't Like Bakugou

      From what I've seen out of many people's top 10 characters in My Hero Academia, the majority of people would put Bakugou in the top 3 and I've seen him in the #1 spot more than a few time. People seem to really like Bakugou, but I'm not one of those people. In my top 15 academia characters, he didn't even crack the top 10 and the only reason he even made my list was because of entertainment value (he's fun to watch). But when it comes to Bakugou's personality and even how he was executed in the series; there's honestly that nothing that I like about him.
      So what is it that I don't like about Bakugou? Well there are four MAJOR reasons that contributes as to why I don't like him and one of the reasons is:
      His reasons for hating Midoriya
      Okay, so I'm gonna get right down to the point on this one.
      He's a Mary Sue
      So you're probably scratching your heads with this one. For those who don't know; a Mary Sue
      Is someone who is so perfect that they're annoying. For the people who did know what a Mary Sue is, but still don't see how Bakugou is one, let me explain. HE IS GOOD AT EVERYTHING! Every single thing that happens in the anime and manga where the characters are being ranked, Bakugou cracks the top 3 Every. Single. Time. Don't believe me? Here!
      1st place in the entrance exam
      3rd place in Aizawa's potential exam
      3rd place in the Spots Festival Marathon
      2nd place in the Human Cavalry
      1st place for the Sports Festival
      3rd place in the Final Exam
      Whether it's a test of brain or brawns, Bakugou passes everything with flying colours.
      His quirk is too OP
      He has yet to be defeated by any of his classmates in anything and being able to defeat your opponents is one thing, but how he does it is something completely different. He doesn't have to rely on any strategy to defeat his opponents because his quirk is enough to get the job done. Going back to the sports festival; during the third phase where everyone starts fighting each other, Bakugou was the only character that was able to win his fights with out using new tactics and strategies in order to win and just relying on the power of his quirk. Don't believe me...? You should always believe me by now -_-
      Bakugou vs Ochako
      Holy shit! Ochako has Bakugou cornered! There's no way he can dodge all of those!
      Oh... He just blew them all up in one blow...
      Bakugou vs Kirishima
      His quirk won't work on Kirishima! Bakugou's gonna have to come up with a different strategy in order to beat him
      Or he could just overwhelm him with explosions...
      ... Yeah I guess that works too...
      Everyone else, even Todoroki had to use their quirks in different ways in order to defeat their opponents, but Bakugou just simply waltz's in and blows the shit out of everything.
      Granted, he's not always a one trick pony; his fight with Tokoyami has to make him think outside the box, but all he really had to do was get past his dark shadow and then it was smooth sailing.
      The only character he fought that he didn't win by simply blowing the enemy up was All Might; who is literally the number 1 hero in My Hero Academia!
      His "Development"
      I used quotations here for a reason. Has Bakugou developed over the course of the series? Yes. Is the development very noticeable? No! The only thing that has really changed about Bakugou over the course of My Hero Academia is that he now respects All Might and that he considers Kirishima as a friend. Other than that, he's pretty much the same as ever. You could read one of the first chapters and then read one of the latest chapters and you won't find much of a change in character. And you know what... That's fine! A lot of characters in this series have stayed the same (though they're mostly side characters) and I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with however is that characters like Midoriya will constantly tell us that Bakugou has completely changed and that he's not the same person even though we; the reader/viewers can't see hardly any change in his personality. Bakugo. Sucks.

Yes he’s rude, but let’s not act like we haven’t all acted a bit rude in our lives. His goal is to be number one, just like most heros, but he understands that Deku might surpass him since All Might gave his powers to Deku.

      The thing is, Midoriya is only here today because of All Might (not saying he doesn't work hard, but if all might didn't give him his quirk, he kinda useless) PERIOD. Bakugo on the other hand is here today completely without the help of others/professionals. Even relying on himself, he is still currently undefeated in both the manga and anime. This just shows that Bakugo isn't the hot headed person people perceive him as. He is probably the most intelligent one in Class A. He has very good strategic thought and logical reasoning which is very rare with a arrogant and overconfident shonen character.
      That's what so unpredictable for someone who was once a bully.

    Even complex bully characters are rarely as popular as Bakugo. There is usually a very large group of fans who simply cannot overlook the bullying to actually like the character. (I tend to fall in that group myself.) I think what makes Bakugo different and allows him to be so widely liked by MHA fans is that Bakugo's victims were taken away. He dominated all his peers through intimidation when he was younger, but, at UA, his classmates aren't afraid of him. They laugh at his rude attitude, even make fun of it right to his face. Even Izuku quickly starts to get over his fear of Bakugo. So now that Bakugo isn't hurting other kids anymore, despite his best efforts, it makes it easier to appreciate him for the good qualities he does have. We can also see how much he actually hurts himself with his attitude, and we start to root for him to grow.

      Nobody likes a bully. Thats why bully characters are so hated. But also its bc in real life bullies are often insecure people suffering from a number of issues whether they be domestic, financial or medical etc thats why they bully people to make them feel lie theyre in control bc they dont have control in their personal life... in anime these insecurities are RARELY if ever fleshed out or shown so that we feel like the bully is more than just a bully, that theyre a complex human being.
      Bullies in anime are alot like disney villains, theyre just evil for the sake of being evil, no backstory, no real reason, hell theyr even drawn to look "uglier" or less aesthetically pleasing to the eye to convey that theyre disgustin people and even when they do get more exposure in a story the writers often have a hard time expressing to the audience what it was that changed them....they either have the bully keep the same personality or they have the protagonist save/defeat him/her and then they 180 their personality completely.
      Take Sai from Peach girl for example, or Neji from Naruto or Kaiba from yugioh....

    I like Bakugo cause he is more layered as a character, Deku always has worn and still wears his personality and flaws on his sleeve for everyone to see, it's not as interesting and leaves little to the imagination, his character development is more about changing how people view him from a zero to a hero, while in Bakugo's case it's the opposite, he supresses his flaws, hides them behind a wall of arrogance and anger, BUT, he strives to live up to his facade of a strong image in others eyes and doing so, even admits his own flaws yet still pushes on even harder, it makes for an interesting dynamic in the story, give's two path's for the fans to follow. You can bet your ass that as HeroAca's popularity rises even higher, there is definitely going to be demand for a side story with Bakugo as the lead and we'll see and read things more through his eyes.
    For those that do not read the manga, and still aren't convinced of Bakugo's character, hopefully season 3's climax will finally convince you.

    Ok this might be really weird but I'm going to say it anyway.
    One thing I absolutely adore about Bakugou is that when he wants something he will do anything in his power to achieve it. He has a lot of ambitions and willpower and whenever I watch him being the strong character I know he is I can't help but feel happy. In all honesty I'm pretty sure I look up to him, not for him bullying Deku and stuff, but because he is smart, strong, silly and good at what he does. I know he has his flaws, like his ego and sometimes his insecureties can get the better of him, but that makes it easier for me to identify with him on an emotional level.
    Ok so now something else that might be weird to some people. Like mentioned in the video, I remember the part in the series where Bakugou ended up placing 3rd on the exam scores, this made me realise my speculations off him being not only strong but also smart where right. I had finals not late after I watched that episode and seeing Bakugou placing 3rd had given me an epic boost! I was drivin to study more so I too could get high grades like him. I remember during the math test that I was freaking out because I messed up the schedule and thought the math test was supposed to be 3 days later than the actual day I got it on..... *facepalm* "I know I'm an idiot..". During that little freak out moment (because I litterly didn't know what to do anymore) I thought about Bakugou and how disappointed he would be at me for getting a low grade... then again I still tried my best! And felt better afterwarts :D
    PS: I messed that math test up BIG TIME! I got an 2.9.... it's a couple off weeks later and my mom still doesn't know ·_· So yeahh *rip*

I don’t wanna be dependent on other people, or feel the need to not be alone. I wanna have that feeling where I don’t need anyone else than me, you know? Bakugou gives me that feeling. Vulpik I watched a video that said that kirishima might not even care that much for Bakugo, that’s he’s only showing comradery so he can get bakugo to work with him and others. Which only strengthens your point about how no one likes bakugo. People say bakugo is a complex character. Like what?!? Bakugo has nearly everything served to him on a silver platter and acts like he’s a king, but loses his shit when he sees deku showing heroic characteristics in which he hasn’t even thought about. His mother summed up everything that happened to bakugo; he got a great quirk, people praised the fuck out of him, and now he’s learning how to be more humble because he’s not even hero material. People have such a hard on for bakugo and it baffles me how such a toxic person get so much attention. I do wish for him to change or get better but that probably won’t happen until deku smack some sense into him

    • @anastasyavie6236
      @anastasyavie6236 6 лет назад +5

      indeed, bakugou is surprisingly relatable when you remove his bully past and 24/7 anger, he is driven to succeed like everyone else, he gets angry when someone performs better than him when he already learn too, he gets karma from life that treats him bad because of his own bad behaviour, he performs in the standard that he already embodied, he feels humiliated when he gets taken lightly since he is more than that.
      In the other hand, midoriya is nice and what we supposed to be but people are not always capable on being the good guy all the time which is why people can see bit of themselves inside bakugou, deku is someone normal people look up to but bakugou is someone that normal people can see on themselves. I am not dissing deku but your comment make me realised that there are a some realistic but relatable things about bakugou's action that makes him so popular.

But as a hero he's going to be forced to change (we're always reminded that his attitude sets him back), it's inevitable, and the slow transition is what I'm excited for. • @ori-arts
    @ori-arts 6 лет назад +228

    A little note for all those people in the comments condemning fans like like Bakugou or are expressing their affection for him: Ever heard of the fact that people can change? For the better? Even if their past actions are terrible? Regardless of whether or not they can be forgiven?
    (Not to mention that some people think Bakugou was much more of a bully than he really was, his shittiest moments were when he beat up Izuku when Izuku stood up for another kid, and the middle school swandive comment. Every other time he just didn't give attention to Izuku, he didn't instigate the other classmates' behaviour towards Izuku, that was all on the classmates and teachers who chose to turn a blind eye.)
    Bakugou was a talented kid with a trash for personality as a result of the quirk centric people around him since he was a toddler. He changed from that to somebody who acknowledges his classmates strength, jumps into fights against villains, notices the mood drop of his classmates and tries to cheer them up by making them laugh, feels upset when other UA students shit talk about class 1-A, helped give some elementary school kids the time of their little lives, gave good advice to one of those kids, etc etc. And he's still changing. Regardless of whether or not he's deserving of forgiveness - which is a subjective matter - he's still changing for the better and that should be recognized.
    In case of Bakugou, Izuku could let go of his hurt and be happy that things were getting better. If you as an audience can't, that's fine. But don't be mad thinking Bakugou isn't paying for his bullcrap. He has been since he started UA, his whole worldview has been crumbling and crumbling some more until it shatters by the end if the All For One Vs. All Might arc where him and Izuku fights it out at night. That's not an easy thing to deal with. The reason you all may feel so mad is cuz it's not as satisfying as you'd expect since no one looks at him as a villain. And that's cuz he isn't.
    Another example of this is Endeavour (oh I hate this trash of society), what he did was unforgiveable, and Shoto and his mom can't forgive him, too late for that, the damage is done. But Endeavour is changing for the better and starting to see where he went wrong. And he is paying for it, because over time what he did will sink in more and the fact that no matter what he can't undo the damage and he won't be forgiven, that's gonna hurt more and more as he starts to open his eyes. But he's changing for the better.
    BnHA as a story uses these characters to portray the fact that people can do shitty things and then change and redeem themselves but that doesn't mean they must be forgiven, nobody owes them forgiveness. That's up to the victim of their abuse.
    Ugh I couldn't put it into words as well as I wanted to. In conclusion, If you don't like Bakugou, fine. If you can't forgive him for his behaviour, fine. But you don't get to pretend he didn't change for the better and he's a villain, and you don't get to condemn people for liking him and his characteristics or say they're bad people or crazy for liking a bully.
    EDIT: Another thing I'd like to add: if you go around condemning people that like Bakugou and say nothing to people that love Dabi, Toga, Overhaul, etc. or you yourself like them, then I hope you realize how much of a self-righteous hypocrite you are.
    (Look, I was having a jolly time losing my mind with happiness over season 3 episode 23, and SOMEBODY just HAD to come in and start acting like Bakugou and his fans belong in damn Tartarus. The same somebody that had Dabi as their dp. So I felt like adding that last part.
    I find Dabi hella cool btw, no hate to people that love villains, I love them too. I just cannot with hypocrites.)

      SketchySquid, saying that "there's a lot worse" is neither an excuse not an explanation. I you lunch someone in the face, it isn't okay because you could have done worse. That kind of thinking is what causes people to not face their own abuse. It is a very toxic way of thinking. I can understand (in large part thanks to this video) why people like bakugou but I don't. One could make the argument that he's a sociopath but we can at least agree that he has serious psychological issues that make him anti-social, aggressive and possibly very dangerous. He was a bully (something that can be excused but not as easily as some seem to think) and he's needlessly aggressive about everything. Personally, I find it kind of annoying to have someone yelling about wanting to kill everyone constantly. It's just not the kind of character I'm drawn to. I'm more of a Uraraka, Tokoyami and Himiko fan (all characters which are underrated imo).
      Kacchan is a great character that never fails to move the story along, however he is a terrible person.

    • @ForeverMasterless
      @ForeverMasterless 6 лет назад +16

      @SketchySquid
      Telling people to kill themselves and literally beating the shit out of other kids because you can is not "mild bullying," and no amount of self-justifying makes it acceptable. If you've done even ten percent of what he's done you have a lot to atone for. Not meaning to make people feel like shit is not an excuse for doing so. You don't live on an island, you live on a planet with seven billion other people and we all have to get along and make this shit work. People like you who treat others like stepping stones and only think of yourself are part of the problem, you only make life worse for everyone, including yourself, because selfish people are never truly happy and never truly at peace. The enlightened mind knows that kindness and generosity towards others is as important to the health of the mind as exercise is to the body. The only true way to be selfish is to be, at least somewhat, selfless.

    • @alisande_
      @alisande_ 6 лет назад +4

      Not all bullying is physical. Mental/emotional abuse is very real, and to argue otherwise is beyond stupidity as you're going against cold hard facts. You're not being a 'pussy' if you start feeling like shit because all you ever hear from your peers is negativity. If someone tells you each and every day that your art sucks, you might laugh it off at first but eventually you're gonna want to stop drawing altogether because you feel like there's no reason to try and improve since nothing you make will ever be good enough. If someone tells you daily that you should die, eventually, you might start to think that you're better off dead. Some people take criticism more harshly than others, and some people have a thicker skin for bullies. It sounds like you are one of the latter (and that's totally fine), but you CANNOT invalidate the struggles of others just because your personal experience is different. That kind of mindset is how abusers can get away with this shit in the first place. They attempt to justify their mistreatment of others by saying things like 'grow up, stop whining, deal with it, life isn't fair, etc.' and mocking them even further for expressing discomfort at things that it's clearly reasonable to be upset over. Even within the context of BNHA characters like Deku and Todoroki are survivors of both mental and physical abuse. Todoroki literally had an entire character arc where Deku helped him move forward and sever the self-imposed restraints that were holding him back. He doesn't forgive Endeavor, nor does he magically 'recover' from what happened. But he realizes he should live for himself, regardless of what Endeavor thinks. That's a surprisingly hard step to take, all things considered. Saying that it's okay to verbally abuse someone is honestly beyond awful, and that line of reasoning is exactly why bullied kids find it to hard to come forward about it in the first place because they don't want to feel like they're overreacting.

    • @Avxxy788
      @Avxxy788 6 лет назад

      I dont think i was invalidating the feelings of others i was just stating what i thought. I understand not everybody is like me but can i have my own opinions? Jfc Im not saying that what he did was right i just said i relate to Katsuki alot thats all. Also, when did i say its fucking okay to bully people? I just said that i looked at it as mild bullying because there's a lot worse and people shouldn't be such a fucking pussy. And yeah if somebody constantly hated my shit id ignore them or tell them to fuck off or deal with it physically if they wouldn't fucking stop. But over a few people hating the shit i create im not going to fucking drop everything. If you do then that means it was never as important to you as you thought it was. Bakugou is always aiming straight ahead for one goal whereas Sasukes goals changes as he goes on because of things like figuring out his brotherS true past. From what I can see in all these comments is that
    1. People that hate Bakugou are more likely to hold grudges and do not know forgiveness.
    2. People that like Bakugou relate to human flaws, can see his future potential, and have faith in him.
    Its funny because the people that like Bakugou are in fact more like Deku. While the people that hate Bakugou are almost exactly like Bakugou. Of course this can't be said for everyone, but this comment section proves it.

      Nah people that hate bakugo want him to become REAL nicer person and really feel bad about what he did to Deku and how he is currently treating others. Have you ever seen the movie A silent voice? Sort of like that. It took the bully theme and his treatment of others seriously. They just don't understand that 1. This may never happen because being mean is a part of what makes Bakugo likeable to some. Or 2. MHA does not approach it's characters on same level of realism as other shows(avatar the last airbender) so something like Bakugo truly wanting to repent for his adtitude won't happen to the end of the series or never so he stays Bakugo. Basically they are taking the story a little too seriously and mha is not suppose to be taken in the same light as Avatar the last airbender or A silent voice.

    he is an anti hero, i can't imagine how epic would be if deku or someone needs help and then bakugo enters in scene saving someone and giving it's all because that just who he is, he doesn't do it because he cares about people, he do it for his selfish reasons but if in the process he can save people it will work. hes the type of guy who get the job done.
    and also, of course is development as a character.
    from the bully who never cares about anyone to a character who understand his weakness and learn from his mistakes and using those mistakes to be a better.
    and acting as a rival of deku, they both get the best of each other.

Seeing him grow and change into being a better person is a fun journey and it’s a breath of fresh air to see a kid who’s arrogant , mean and crude want to be a hero and has such willpower and charisma . He’s a breath of fresh air to anime and he’s a breath of fresh air to MHA . He gets 1st place in japan and US popularity polls for a reason and close minded hateful people fail to see this . They fail to see and correctly analyze his character because they want to fixate on who he was at the start at the show as if people don’t evolve or grow . Honestly I think most people who hate bakugo were people who were bullied and didn’t do anything about it so they channel that hate onto bakugo and their judgement gets clouded . It’s fine to not like a character but when they act as if he’s not changing for the better or overlook all his good qualities and throw insults at people who don’t like him , it’s clear they’re just hating and they’re acting exactly like the character they themselves hate .

This tells me that Bakugou has a warm heart and a loving side of himself, he covers it up with his aggressive and prideful attitude. Which is one of the reasons why I freakin love him. Another reason why I love him and think he is the best is because I relate to him sooooo much.

    I started liking Bakugou for point 4 and 5, though I'll admit that I hated him for the first half of season 1, then started getting confused about his character after his fight against Izuku, I didn't understand him, but I still disliked him. In season 2, I started to admire him, and my hatred towards him diffused and I was neutral regarding him after finishing season 2, though I still couldn't understand him properly cuz he's the exact opposite of me in every sense, there was no common ground. I started liking Bakugou later when reading the manga. After Bakugou was taken by League Of Villains, he refused their offer, [SPOILERS] he got rescued, the big fight of this arc happened, and then he fought with Izuku putting his feelings out more openly than ever to the audience and Izuku, I started to like him then because I understood him a little bit more and I could finally see to what extent he was actually affected by anything emptionally. This was also one of the biggest triggers to his development.

    bakugo feels real. we all are familiar with rival 2nd character in shounen series. most poeple remind him of sasuke in naruto. most of early season is very similar , except bakugo development feels more real. like from someone who doesn't even remember classmate's name to actually calls uraraka by name , and finally stay with his own just (when abducted by League of Villains) . this is the reverese with sasuke, which develop brotherly development (chakra training , zabuza arc , chunin exam) which show us that sasuke is not really a jerk like early episode. but then , it came back to square one. he suddenly become a jerk (again) , and feels like hundred chapter of his character development seems wasted. in a sense , I would say bakugo is "sasuke done right" , and more interesting , like he is a one-layered personality in multi-layered personality character (admit it , in a sense , he is a one-layered bully-genius character type, but at the same time , he is a multi-layered with complexity in his character)

The author expands on the traits, rather than say making Midoriya Superman with nothing to fear, Midoriya is constantly afraid and of course he would be... any person would be. Bakugo then is being taken to his natural conclusion in either affirming his heroism or keeping him firmly in the Anti-Hero camp. Either way I can see it going both ways, and that sense of possibility is something I sorely miss in the rest of the characters: I mean... Midoriya opens the story with "this is how I became the greatest hero". Which... I mean it's the foregone conclusion but at the same time, you definitely took what little mystery there was out of Midoriya. Who is my favourite character, mind you. But anyways. While I don't "like" Bakugo, I appreciate him for his narrative contrast, and also for the fact that he's incredibly, INCREDIBLY well writeen.

      Xae Dota you are dumb mate.
      I said the writing is good.
      I just hate the characters.
      Those two don't contradict each other.
      They are responding appropriately to their lives, but they are still two of the most hated archtypes of people for me.
      I hate pathetic people and would perferr they resist instead of letting themselves get trampled.
      And I hate bullies with fake confidence, I say fake because Bakugo's confidence is founded in praise by others rather than proof of his abilities in the real world.
      And it is also fake because he is shaken simply because deku is no longer a punching bag.
      Pathetic.

      Xae Dota he only won because todoroki wasn't fighting.
      Everytime he gets rescued he cries over it.
      You want to see true confidence look at all might.
      Confidence begets calmness and acceptance of others.
      Not make you anxious and edgy.
      Stupid teen bull.

    Bakugo is an amazing character and even my favourite. I respect Midoriya's virtues but his character is definitely lacking something. Something that Bakugo has. A HELL LOT OF FLAWS.

      Yule Tide izuku is a very bland and generic protagonist...not that it's a bad thing but the point of him being perfect character wise is because he doesn't need any character development he needs power development...on the other hand bakugou needs character development not power development...which is why his character has flaws but is very talented

    • @bosmanj2683
      @bosmanj2683 6 лет назад +21

      Souvik Bose bland maybe. Generic? I dont think so atleast not in comparison to your average shonen main character

      Also, what has Bakugo done that sets him apart from people like Sasuke,Vegeta, Hiei etc? He isn't exactly breaking any new ground either imo. I would say my favorite thing about bakugo is his trash talk in the manga which is always hilarious to me. I can't really say that he is a bland character but he is generic.

    • @souvikbose8583

      BOS Man J sorry dude I disagree...izuku is actually the embodiment of almost every underdog protagonist ... infact if you read comics...you would know izuku is exactly like a child portrays a super hero....he is an all round good guy with hardly any faults characteristic wise and has an op power...like Naruto, hinata(haikyuu) , kenichi or nagisa
      the thing is you don't necessarily have to do something groundbreaking to be considered a breath of fresh air... something like changing some usual cliches can also become something unique...like in my opinion bakugou does with MHA... bakugou is by far the only shonen rival I have seen whose drive to become no.1 is more than the protagonist...apart from this he openly mocks and demeans and initially bullies the protagonist which blatently shows he is more fit to be a villain than a hero...but despite all this we learn that his dirve to become a hero outshines everything....he does feel threatened by the protagonists growing power but he doesn't runaway and joins the villain in hopes to get stronger...he stays true to his path and works harder to reach his goals... apart from all this he unlike all the rivals you have listed takes and influences people around him a lot more...sometimes even more than the protagonist...though his methods of driving and influencing those around him is a direct contrast to izuku....above all bakugou has something you don't see in shonen rivals nowadays...tons of character flaws which gives him tons of room for character development

      Souvik Bose yeah izuku does have an extremely powerful quirk but it literally rips his body apart because it doesnt fit his body. Its not like he can just access the upper limits on a whim. The thing i like about izuku is his intelligence. It feels good to have an intelligent shonen protagonists for once instead of a naruto or goku type of character. Of course there are a lot of similarities between midoriya and other shounen mc's he is not a carbon copy in my book.

    The reason I like about bakugou is because I feel like there is more to him than the angry explosive side of him. I feel like the explosiveness and anger is a mask or wall he put up because he doesn't want people to hurt him so he yells and hurts them so they don't get the chance to hurt him.
    THIS IS MY OPINION SO DON'T HATE ON ME.

    “Mix of human flaws and a righteous goal makes him more human than the average hero” really hit me. I really like the kind of shows that shows a lot of humanity int and such. It just makes it so much more relatable and deep, and that really grasps my heart.

    • @stellary98
      @stellary98 6 лет назад +52

      TheNebulaXYZ That's a good question. Probably because people like to destroy the perfect and pure image of a good-only sided protagonist

      Yes, but what kind would he be? Vengeance seeker? A world changer? Or the ever popular unstable maniac?
      And for that matter where the f*&k did maniac fancy suit suit Izuku even come from?!

      I like it because Izuku could've easily became a villain if not for all might telling him he could become a hero it's interesting to imagine him being the opposite of who he is

      Because he had actually all the makings of a villain. Of someone like Stain or maybe even Mustard if you theorize about his backstory. Bullied and oppressed because of the nature of his quirk, or in this case, his lack of one.

    Bakugou is my favorite character because he is bold, brave, skillful, hardworking, cautious, intelligent, warm-headed and self-centered. Besides that he has a quick thought like I've never seen, I fell in love with his fighting moves that are all coldly calculated. He respects his teachers and his superiors and inspires me on the other side of the screen, with each episode I like him more and more. I was like him when I was a kid ... I was amazing ... and I knew it! :D Too bad I'm not so cool anymore ):

    I have gotten bullied myself when I was younger so it might seem quite odd for him to be my favorite. I think it's because I've always been a really empathic person and even when I was being bullied I wanted understand why the bulllies did what they did. With Bakugou I get the satisfaction of knowing his reasons for his actions but also a hope of him bettering himself. I can also relate to him in some ways (anger issues, feeling the need to be the best).

      Introverts panic at the disco Yup. To be honest I can’t think of Deku as a real person. I was thinking of terrible things about my bullies growing up. Didn’t have the courage to fight back. Bakugo, is much more real and human than Deku for me. I grew up with expectations of pressure on me as that Asian kid so I get where Bakugo comes from as well.
