    We had a mattress made for ours. We have a shop that makes mattresses in our town. Exact same size but a bit taller than what comes standard in a camper and made with the firmness we wanted. So comfy!

    Thank you for this! I have the same trailer and the bed seriously IS terrible. I ordered the medium mattress topper from this company and it's so much more comfy!! We just got one of them, so we'll see how that holds up but great idea getting one of each to switch between :)

      I went to Lowe’s and I got the 48” x 24” wide added 3 inches of half-inch plywood so it really comes out to 27”. i’ll try to use the changes they didn’t work so I put the a different kind on but I still screwed it down and I rounded off the corner I just took my jigsaw and cut put a plate up there and just cover the room and then I sanded it. I’m thinking about just go ahead look to what else I can find I laid down on just like laying on 🧱 lol

I don't have a discount code because the prices are low to begin with, however if you want to use our affiliate link here it is: www.pjatr.com/t/TUJGRkxHSUJHSE1NRklCRktHS0dN

    I noticed your bed is surrounded by the walls (or window) of your camper which would hold your stack together. Would these slide around if your bed was open on 3 sides? Love the idea, and pricing mattresses is giving me stress, but the mattress that came with our new camping trailer is awful. My husband had to stay in it for a few months and there is now a dent on his side. Also , being able to switch them around sounds like a great idea since we can't try it out. Thanks for any tips on that, Our 20 year old Casita was more comfortable sleeping on the cushions with the dinette folded down. No......really.

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  3 года назад +1

      Oh, I fully agree! RV mattresses are the worst. If you stacked mattress toppers, I’d try to not have the covers on the bottom layers. Then they would grip together more. However, even with covers on, I think you’ll find they stay put. We just published our guide to the best RV mattress replacements: couchpotatocamping.com/best-rv-mattress-replacements/ I understand how the dinette cushions were comfortable. We’ve had that same experience before, too 😂

      @@CouchPotatoCamping Thanks!! Awesome information!! Also Mattress Insider makes covers. I thought about doing the Nesting and having them make a cover for my configuration and having the individual latex layers sit against each other per your suggestion. That might hold the whole thing together. I appreciate your responsiveness and wish I'd found your guide earlier before I wasted a whole afternoon on research. Very helpful!! In general Mattress Insider has a great reputation and a great website. If I don't go latex, I'm sure I'll get one from them. Reasonably priced with very good reviews.

    I bought a mattress for the house and found it very comfortable so I bought the exact same mattress for the trailer. I had back pain both nights. Why is this. Is this because there's no box spring and just a plywood board underneath?

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  3 года назад

      It could be because of the hard plywood board underneath with no give. If there is not a box spring or slatted base there isn't much give.

    • @efinden
      @efinden 3 года назад +1

      @@CouchPotatoCamping what’s underneath the plywood and storage? I was thinking of taking it all out and bolting down a bed frame to the floor and then putting a box spring on that. Would that work?

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  3 года назад

      @@efinden In an Intech Sol Horizon? No, that wouldn't work. Underneath the plywood is the plumbing system. It is different for every type of RV, so that might work with some models. But not an Intech Sol Horizon.

    I have listening to this video twice and still not sure of the name of the mattress toppers you are talking about. I have a full size coil spring mattress in 5th wheel I love but the size is off. The full is too large to even fit my hand in to make bed, the twin will be too small. I need a 49x71" and these toppers may be the answer. I am a side-sleeper with back issues. The height is 6 1/2" max as this is a steel horse trailer 5th wheel so height is set. It's called a Weekender. What is the name of these toppers, where to buy?
