Supply chain issues have cause the coir bed mat we chose to be sold out frequently. Savvy Rest has theirs back in stock and it ships within a week or so. If you see it, get it!
We have been hearing more and more about this and are thinking of getting something like that for under the mattress! Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
The campground shown in this video is the Springfield Campground (a Corp of Engineers campground) near Anderson, South Carolina. More specifically, it is site #59 located at the lake's edge. We love Corp of Engineer campgrounds as they quite often have some of the largest individual campsites and they are more often than not, locate on or next a body of water. Thank you for watching!
How did you get the mattress out of the back? haha it's so ridiculously tight in the back of the camper that adding anything to the bedding area is quite the challenge.
Hey hey! Not sure yet if we're definitely going to go for Froli or something else. I bought one from Amazon and I think it would work fine, but we cannot get it to lay down flat! Then if we try to put the mattress back in, it's a nightmare! That memory foam mattress is not easy to maneuver!
Hey, girl! Yeah, the Froli wasn't for us. I can imagine how hard it is to maneuver the memory foam mattress. We have smaller latex toppers to create one large mattress, so it's easier to move in layers. The one that doesn't lay down flat doesn't seem like a good idea!!! LOL Keep in mind, you're going to need to get underneath the bed and all that stuff to winterize, so easier layers to maneuver will be great! Off to find your channel!
It seems to be a perfect fit. So for that queen size, it come in 2 pieces? Do you mean you added another layer on top of the other? I watched many of your videos. The marble dish drier mat matches perfectly and is now in my Amazon cart. 😂 The baskets have since sold out. 🤷🏻♀️
The queen size mats do come in two pieces for easy install, etc. We had two layers of mats in ours - probably not necessary - but that’s how we did did it. Thank you for watching!!!
Thanks for your videos! I’m starting to catch up on all of them and appreciate the resource. We put a bed mat under our mattress recently for the same reason. Although, taking it out on New Years in near freezing temperatures we noticed an increase in draft coming from the space now provided. Essentially, the mattress had been acting as an insulator for the air leaks caused by gaps in the floor from hoses passing through and limited (maybe no) bottom insulation. Have you done any weatherproofing to alleviate this issue? We love our Sol Horizon, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense for the heated tanks when the occupants are frozen! 🥶
We have not done any extra weatherproofing/insulating of our Sol Horizon. We typically don't RV in the winter, though we have been in our Horizon during some colder shoulder season temps/locations. That's why we say - when asked - the Sol Horizon is really a 3 season RV, maybe a 3 1/2 season RV if you bring a small, space heater to supplement the RV's heater. Currently ours is winterized and in storage.
Yes, we've heard that from others, too. We suggest this coir bed mat at The Futon Shop: tidd.ly/3B6Re8Y It's one of the few other places that carry them right now.
We definitely would advise NOT getting a plastic protector. The plastic holds in moisture and doesn’t let the bed breathe. It could actually cause more mold.
Hi Ed! Looks like Savvy Rest won't have any coir bed mats in stock until late September or October. I did find another place to buy: www.thefutonshop.com/coirpad-coconut-coir-mattress-pad-bed-rug Hope this helps!
Thank you! I just ordered one! I recently noticed a lot moisture on the wall and head end of my mattress!
Enjoy it!! Safe travels!
Loving that sweet Sol and the beautiful park, but the tips in this are even better. Definitely looking into a Coir bed mat!
Awesome! I think it would be much needed in Florida!

That is a great solution!!! I had this issue with a latex mattress. Great to meet you!!!
Great to meet you, too!
Hi. We're looking into this now. I'm wondering how this has worked out for you since this video is 3 years old. Thanks!
We did not have any issues with this system while we owned this trailer. Thank you for watching!
After a year are the coconut husks sheading or flacking off at all?
Still solid and intact! They are holding together rather nicely!
@@CouchPotatoCamping Thanks for the info.

Thanks for a great video there I'm really interested in it so thanks again have a great day

I think I may have asked this before, but which campground is this?! Looks so great and I need to add it to my list!!

Does this make it smell better as well? Like old air cooled VWs used to smell like with their coconut fiber cushions
Amazingly, the mats don’t have a strong odor. Quite benign to be hones. Though we would’ve preferred a strong coconut smell! 😀
This is very cool. Great product. Glad to be friends. (Emilie and Tito)

Right?!?? Making the bed in this RV is a huge effort.

Awesome thank you! We are going to purchase thanks to you! Also...I noticed your bed window...did you make blackout curtains?! :-)
Yes! We did make blackout curtains!!!! Thanks for noticing. Planning on a video of how we made them soon. 😁
Which mattress did you buy?
We ended up making a DIY mattress. Here’s how we did it ruclips.net/video/E4NzEZGq_lo/видео.html
Is there any odor to this mat at all
No weird or annoying odors. One of the many reasons why we recommend it! Thank for watching!
This is a great channel!
Thank you so much :)

We’ll be renting our trailer out & I worry that there might be someone with a latex allergy…
A possibility. You could always put it in the description of your rental.
is the coir scratchy oe soft to touch?
It’s on par with a door mat in terms of its texture, but we never had any issues scratching anything nor messing up the mattress.
The Froli system is king at keeping mold away. I can’t imaging risking mold in my rig only to save a few hundred dollars, especially in humid regions.
Different strokes for different folks.
Out of stock! No indication on web site if or when it might be available.. No waiting list either,

WTH Is Natural Latex? That’s an oxymoron!
Any quick Google search will tell you what it is and why it is not an oxymoron and how it has been used around the world for centuries.
