- Comparing HTC Wildfire S against the new kid in town HTC Explorer. Both use same speed CPU, same screen, same major Android 2.3.x version and even look alike. Wildfire S offers LED flash something that HTC Explorer lacks.
If you think that's the only difference between the two smartphones you are wrong. HTC did something really cool and confusing for consumers. Let's find out.

@mattiasspiessens same CPU speed doesn't say much. The way the CPU works it's much more important than the speed itself. The HTC Explorer uses a newer CPU design, thus the improvement in overall performance despite the same speed.
@mattiasspiessens i don't think so my friend. According to the tools i used and which reported CPU ID info, the 2 CPUs are totally different. The only common characteristic they share is the 600MHz speed.
@Titanas The XPLR has ARMv7 processor, WS has ARMv6.
@melamorsa41 they're update the phones with Sense 3.0 but not sure about 3.5 in older phones. Same price is confusing. Again, if you need pics from parties at night then Wildfire is for you. If you don't care about the camera (it's not only without flash but 3megapixel too) then Explorer is for you
I like the Explorer best. It's cute! I wish it had better specs though... HTC should make a new version... Explorer 2 with better screen, front facing camera, removable battery and flash
@zohaib1482 both are great. HTC Wildfire S comes with a slower CPU and a 5 megapixel camera with flash but HTC Explorer has a faster CPU and OS but 3 megapixel camera without flash.

@Titanas I Don't know because they have the same price (here in Italy). The Explorer has the Sense 3.5, and I Don't know if the Wildfire S will Update to the Sense 3.0 (Lockscreen) and Android 2.3.5

compare fire xt and samsung galaxy ace both have same configration and hardware ace does not have front camera and battery backup is also low.and ace cost around 12000+ and Motorola fire xt 8800+ and it is also support flash and hd game like ace.just it need a custom ROM/root to boost its performance.samsung ace also have amr6 processor the mention processor is wrong on gsmana .cost difference is 3000-4000.so fire xt is best phone in this price rangce,processor.and better than explorer in price.
Different armv processsors too. Id choose explorer, newer processor. Or a w007
@arnikloes it's up to you. what you want. slower CPU with a 5 megapixel camera and flash or faster CPU and OS with 3 megapixel camera without flash?
Explorer has much better arm v7 processor, which makes him compatibile with much more games than Wildfire S, so Explorer is better if you want to play the games.

I have a HTC Explorer now, but the wifi sucks and it is a to little phone with onyl 3mega pixel camera. But i'm getting HTC Wildfire S with flash and 5 mega pixels, didn't know about wifi

Erm.. not quite a fair test. EXPLORER is sense 3.0 while WILDFIRE S is 2.1... but Wildfire S sounds and looks awesome lol :) currently using 1 dark grey Wildfire S for a month and it NEVER Fails me.
I bought explorer couple of days back, it comes with 150MB phone memory.
Can someone please reply i´ve been looking for ages now, does the explorer has a led light notification? if so where can I turn this on ? Do I need an app?

The Explorer Has SnapDragon chipset With Cortex A5 procesor, OF course !! it will be faster :)

@zohaib1482 instead of these both phones, i would recommend you to get the " sony ericsson live with walkman " its priced the same ..and has a 1ghz processor compared to the 600mhz on these devices ..and also has a front facing camera for video chat, these devices dont...plus has a very loud speaker even if u compare with high end devices
now i'm sure you must be thinking that HTC brand is more reliable compared to sony, i do agree this and very disappointed with sony but this one will amaze u!

No... you got it wrong! BOTH HTC Wildfire S and HTC Explorer has Single core 600MHZ proccessor!

Xplorer has got 90mb internal memory and Wildfire S has got 160mb wich I think srsly more important thing than anything!!!!

No you totally wrong, I'm portuguese and born in 3rd world Brazil, but who cares for what you think? You missunderstood the sentece, it's very real... people are more busy think in the next new phone they must have and don't think what misery is the life without simple things that make us happy.
