Lmao KD walking around the village looking for something but it ain’t sports
It’s cardio alright
Other countries do this as well. High-profile athletes get special accommodations because security is another factor. Basketball also has a large support staff, and we did this for some of our other sports like weightlifting and gymnastics. Great Britain, Italy, China, and some others have done this to a lesser extent. Even if someone is staying in the village, many counties brought their own AC units, mattresses, and food.
Two of which are useless unless you are extremely specific about the firmness of the mattress, or if you want to have your room cooled by a loud wasteful machine hanging on your wall instead of the normal thing
@tuurderom2017 Actually, they aren't useless when you realize that the French aren't providing A/C in the Olympic Village and the beds are made of cardboard. These athletes have been training for years, and if they are comfortable and well rested, it could affect their performance and recovery. It was up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit some days in Paris and imagine being a 290-lbs weightlifter or 7 foot basketball player on a cardboard bed. Don't get me started on the plant based diet that they are providing
@@justified004 do you sleep on your bed without a matras? Because it’s a cardboard bedframe not matras.
Furthermore the whole village is equipped with a geothermal temperature management system so the lack of ac doesn’t mean anything.
@tuurderom2017 you're missing the point. It's about comfort, and Paris has been experiencing a heat dome. The geothermal system didn't impress numerous countries, so they brought their own AC units. It was reported that Australia, the UK, Denmark, and Italy are just some to bring them beforehand. Jamaica added them after their athletes complained.
Yes, the bed is made of cardboard, not the MATTRESS, but many of these athletes aren't sleeping on a generic mattress on a cardboard bed for 2+ weeks, especially the million dollar athletes. I'm pretty sure France didn't provide Sleep Numbers. Also, it is widely reported that many athletes and teams are staying in hotels. Golfers, tennis players, basketball teams, and weightlifters are just some of them.
@@justified004 because their events are a multi hour drive from the village, you don’t expect the surfers to fly in from Tahiti just to sleep i Paris do you?
Paris right now is relatively cool for the time of year, so lucky break for the org that more people didn’t bring their own ac because of it. Though you are right that they’re clearly unimpressed by the geothermal system.
Well this year the reasons are much better like no air conditioning or access to protein rich foods. They were trying to feed a largely plant-based diet to athletes who are VERY specific about their diets for obvious reasons
Wtf are you taking about there is meat at olympic village + its made to fit athlet macro + its healthy food not like USA hormones beefs
No ac, just good climate control, how dare they
Wahh no AC, most of Europe doesn't have it and apparently they used a different method to cool.
Wahh LESS meat, the food was replaced with plant based+ vegetarian options, both of which can be high protein.
You wanna stop lying, they didn't even get rid of meat just doubled the non meat supplied, which wouldn't be a large amount to begin with
