I watched this game live right as I was about to leave work. Before I walked out the door my friend pulled me to the side and showed me what was happening. The score was tied 84 up with three minutes remaining. What was just the two of us ended up becoming a dozen guys I work with all surrounding the cafeteria tv. It was a memory I will never forget.

Most of these analysts failed to understand is that the other team already played multiple games together in many years.
USA teams is only assembled and practice 1-2 months before these games, and they still mostly dominate.
Also, the world had caught up, and that is OK.
This makes Olympics an actual competition, not just an all-star vs janitor games like those from 1992.

I think the situation is different from what the Dream or Redeem teams faced. The whole world has improved their level of play and knowledge about the game. Even the best of the NBA is not so far in front of the other national teams these days.
There are eight NBA players in the Serbian team, one is an MVP. It’s like team USA playing a solid NBA team back in the US. Serbia is no push over. The win is well deserved.

Especially since it wasn't even on the regular Olympics schedule. 2016 many didn't want to play due to the fact the rumors of bad conditions, and the Zyka virus that the team had to stay in isolation staying on a cruise ship.
The main reason why LeBron was eager to sign up since with his age the Olympics shouldn't be in his bucket list anymore after winning two gold already, is because of the team USA DIDN'T even medal in last year's Fiba.
Steph expressed his interest in playing this Olympics since 2021 since he doesn't have gold, he didn't want to play on that team because of the Covid situations.
The majority of the team was on the 2021 team except for AD who is always hurt, Halibitter and Edwards. The rest of the team consists of the 2021 team.

The truth is the talent on the All Star team is off the charts. But the talent on many other teams is off the charts too. Basketball is a game where you have off nights but to win the gold you have to be at your best. The US team took it serious and was able to win every game as expected but this shows you without one or two players stepping up they would have lost! Tatum was the 2nd best player that won Gold in Tokyo 2021. Despite being a 6th man, he was 2nd in pts, 2nd in +/-, efficiency just behind KD. Was even 1st in blocks. Tatum has length, handles and athleticism, can guard all 5 positions, his game is suited for the international game… yet he didn’t play a single minute VS Serbia. WTF!
You're using his stats from 2021 to justify why he should be playing in a game in 2024. How does that make sense? Not even the same roster. He's not the second best player on this team and he hasn't been playing like the current NBA champion either. If I was Kerr, I'd stick with LBJ, Curry and KD too. This feeling reminds me of Rugby when South Africa kept winning by 1 bloody point. It was sooo frustrating. The entire NATION was on its feet but we ended up winning which was a sigh of relief. So yeah, I understand EXACTLY how you guys feel with this one.
I think the biggest weapon all these other teams have against team USA is that they're literally their country's national team. They've been playing together for years in order to represent their homeland. And team USA being the most anticipated team have huge targets on their backs. Everyone knows about the superstars, so everyone would also know their biggest strengths and weaknesses. That's why I think the only thing keeping team USA afloat is pure talent. And that's what sets them apart for me. They've only got a few months to think how to play with each other, they've been operating with different playstyles, but despite that, at the end it just comes back to the fact that each one of the members can go off on their own if needed.

There are 64 NBA players on OTHER teams. And we arent talking about just bench and G-League players.
