Final bout was my first import as well. Picked it up at a convention sale with the game shark like device and the spring to hold down the tray mechanism. I’ll be in Japan in January and I’ll be sure to check this location out, thanks
Great finds man! Got really excited when I saw Fussa in the title. I was stationed at Yokota AB from 98 to 04 and enjoyed every minute of my time there. Remember my 1st Japanese game purchase while there was Samurai Spirits 3 for PS1 for about 800 yen. Thought I was robbing the place at that price!
Not a bad to explore inside the Hard Off shops like this, huh? Furtheremore, I can enjoy learning english while listnening to what you are saying in this video.
cracked up at 'shit, its baskin robbins... fuck the bar, imma get some ice cream!' too funny. :P pretty sweet deal on those SNK/Capcom Dreamcast fighters though. definitely need to expand my famicom collection though, I really want more of those metallic colored namco carts (I got dragonbuster just cus I thought the zelda-like gold was pretty awesome, definitely would not mind star wars next!) but man so much cool stuff! great videos as always man!
Dude, i lost my mind when i saw rum raisin on the menu! They only have it in hagen das in the states...not sure why I haven’t moved to japan yet...🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Power Stone 2 sealed, for 660Y, what the... ? Lucky one ! But I have to admit, this hobby-off is pretty awesome, was there in february 20', got some pretty nice games ofr a very good price (like the Advent Children edition of FF7 ps1 with its bonus disc for 2200Y).
Beats me. In this same spot a few years ago I picked up Capcom Vs SNK 2, Power Stone, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Biohazard 2 on DC, all for 100 yen a piece.
now i get whats all the fuss(a) about xD btw the ranma 1/2 sfc game is chougi ranbu hen..the third fighting game in the series...i own it..cart only just like yuyu final and dbz hyper dimension:P
Hey, youre around Tokyo a lot. Do you know a store that sells vintage movie posters? I looked at some places, but didnt found something good yet. Would be nice if someone could recommend a shop xd
Jim go back and get me that arkaniod 2 box set and a burgertime for famcm too nice and cheap please. some great cheap famicom games man i need to get over and have a good mooch around. 20 miles outside tokyo isnt far at all for some great stuff.
I see those KoF's on the PS2 you showed off, thankful I have them (I'd love to have Sam Sho 6's stand alone release due to the groovy boxart, but I already have it on the PS2 Anthology, and don't have to work on unlocking half the roster. But I see the prices of games, Japan is following the trend of those greedy Ebay sellers that overprice even the most common stuff. But then I see simple FC stuff like Son Son and Front Line still cheap, though to be honest, those games don't have a long lasting fun factor appeal to them, and I already have better versions of them on Taito and Capcom arcade compilations for the PS2.
Also KoF 97 on the Saturn is groovy, bought my copy from a Japanese seller living on Hawaii (and it was cheap on Ebay from this guy too, he even had a paper inside on how to unlock the extra characters in the game), the one time I bought from someone from Japan, I don't normally do that due to shipping costs, I try to buy my imports from US based sellers, but hey, he was US based 😃. However, sound quality on the version is jacked up, all the voices are higher pitched, much like KoF 96 for the Saturn (where punches sound like slaps, yup got that one too). 15:55 I spot something else I have for PS2, the Last Blade 1 and 2 compilation. Yeah it's not 100% arcade perfect (sound quality sort of took a dive with some voice muffling), but otherwise, a solid way to have both games if one doesn't own Neo Geo consoles.
I will visit Japan in 2021, February or March. Can u help me with a retro shop which sells nintendo sns, gambe boy, and nintendo 64 in Japan. Which is the best and which has lots of nintendo games, it will help me a lot. I need a location if it is possible. Thanks in advance. P.S your videos are very helpful and greetings from Albania
Dammit Jim stop flying over the japanese games when you film...most of your audience doesnt read Japanese and all you are showing us is the spines of the games...esp in the ps1 bin you passed over brave fencer musahi dq 7 and a bunch of great games and i couldnt read them
Unfortunately if I stopped to cover every single game of interest, these videos would be way too long for my liking. They're very long as it is and I'm actually thinking to start shortening them.
Beautiful selection of music. Also watching you walk there is relaxing.
Oh great I'm gonna have the Segata Sanshiro theme stuck in my head again, but awesome video man !
Seeing these stores make me miss Japan.
That boxed blue PS3 Gran Turismo system looked really nice. 👍
I love how you captured the everyday life in Tokyo. It feels like I'm there. Keep up the goodwork Jim.
Not only do i love your thrifting videos, but the production quality is improving too. Thanks for putting in the extra effort. Much enjoyed!
the Super Famicom stuff really intrigued me 😍
Loving the new intros [ks] , the chill is at 100, nice refresher , Keep it up man
Thanks for making the trip and the video. Those SNK and Sega fighters were great pickups.
Total score on the KOF 97 with the obi. Thanks for taking us down memory lane. Great video.
My pleasure. :)
That Japanese Sims box oh my gorgeous LGR would be proud after seeing it
Really glad you did this video! Planning a month long trip to Japan and really wanted to find some good places for cheap games!
Final bout was my first import as well. Picked it up at a convention sale with the game shark like device and the spring to hold down the tray mechanism. I’ll be in Japan in January and I’ll be sure to check this location out, thanks
The ASMR for retro gamers: browsing through junk bins 😁
Dang, going back to your old haunts!! I gotta do that with Yokosuka when I get back to Japan next month!!
I might join you.

When I first learned about all the recycle shops within driving distance, I used to hit them every weekend and bring home arm loads of games.
i want this taiko no tatsujin for ps2 for years... have fun... greetz from germania
Spending the first 26 mins of my bday watching this video and having cookies. Winning. Great upload as always!
Awesome! Hope you had a good one.
@@MadPanicGaming I did thanks! :)
Great stuff, Jim! If you don't mind, I'd like to see action figures and robots department of these Hobby offs at some point.
Great video, loving the chill music too
You should of got off at Hamura station, the HobbyOff is only 5 minutes away from that station compared to the 20 minute + walk from Fussa lol
I'm aware of that, I wanted to go for the walk.
One of my favorites... I remember they switched it up in the past
Loved the baseball/karate advert! That made me do a LOL. =)

Awesome episode. What is that anime scene at the end? Loved the colors on it.
Man you are missing some good Japanese games for the Ps4.
I wish I knew, it's just a clip from a collection I have.

Ooh a Kirby game in the junk bin...I would have totally grabbed that. If not a full hour of digging through the bins...how about half an hour lol?
Dang! How are those Fighters on Dreamcast so cheap!? I never come across those prices.
Beats me. In this same spot a few years ago I picked up Capcom Vs SNK 2, Power Stone, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Biohazard 2 on DC, all for 100 yen a piece.
@@MadPanicGaming Absolutely crazy!
Love the video! Please do spend more time in the junk section if you have the time. I wanted to see some of those junk PS2 games.
After watching this video, I am convinced that vintage gaming is better than Current Gen.
600 yen for that power stone 2 is an absolute steal. I've paid a LOT more than that for mine...
What's the bumper music you used in the intro of the video? it's pretty cool, upbeat & jazzy beat
It's called Arcadian and it's by Axian.
super happy=) love your hard off and book off maybe?
I need to visit this store with u man
What was the music at the beginning of the video? It reminded me of SFIII 3rd Strike but I didn't recognize it.
It's a remix of Hugo's theme from Second Impact.
@@MadPanicGaming no wonder I didn't recognize it XD 2nd Impact is my least played version of III
Just got my snacks to see this Jim Awesome for sure. 8^)
Anthony..
Much appreciated Anthony.
Some good finds ☺ ♥ 🇯🇵
Still hoping for the "1h junk bins" special ♥

Hey, youre around Tokyo a lot. Do you know a store that sells vintage movie posters? I looked at some places, but didnt found something good yet. Would be nice if someone could recommend a shop xd
There's a shop in Nakano Broadway that sells movie posters.

Jim, does Hobby/Hard Off have arcade games, like MVS? Cheers!
I see AES sometimes, but not MVS.
If you get a Japanese Wii, you can order food from it.
What was that N64 game with the GIrl and the Number 12 on it at 17:00 I couldn't make it out. it looks interesting.
Wonder Project J2 (not 12)
@@Zeebo1 Thanks! Well as I said I couldn't make it out very well. The J2 looks like a 12 from the brief glimpse we get.
Jim. Which was the last njpw show you attended
The last G1 Climax at the Budokan a couple months ago I think.
What music is used in this episode?
