Your editing skills are absolutely sick mate
Thank you! It's not so hard to edit these, but I do my best to keep them interesting.
The Sakura theme in the background had me going crazy.
Sakura really has the best music. Both her original Street Fighter Alpha 2 / Puzzle Fighter song(s) as well as this legendary song from Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha.
Thanks for taking us along. As for those "newer" PS2/3 games... the PS2 is 20 years old. The PS3 14. Damn I'm old.
Yeah, I said newer and it immediately dawned on me, these aren't really that new.
Damn... it’s true.
You guys should meet up more
We'll have to wait until her next trip to Tokyo.
I love these Game Hunting videos. Good job Jim ! Keep going.
Aww Sakura's theme from Street Fighter EX! That took me back!
Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha soundtrack is soooo damn underrated!
Another good Hard Off added to my list Jim. BTW hope xmas was good and you have had a good New Year. Keep the vids and new places coming along...
Thanks! The holidays treated me well. Hope you have a great new year too!
I thought I’d stumbled into one of Maximilian’s videos when I heard the music.
It was nice to see all the Ghibli DVDs in the showcase, I wonder if they are still as expensive as they used to be.
I've lived in Tachikawa since 2005, and I haven't even been to that Hard-Off. I usually only go to the Super Book-Off Bazaar near the station.
I love that Sakura theme
Hard to believe that it came from one of the least popular SF games
Great to see the whole trip. Great hunting 😂cheers for the video and keep on gaming 👍
INTO THE EVE OF BATTLE,,, GO FOR IT! Man that's gives me chills
The train station you were on with the covered walkways REALLY reminded me of the Benten-cho stage where you fight the Noise Tanks. You also get extra points for using the SF EX plus Alpha soundtrack. That game doesn't get enough love.
I agree. Me and my friends especially love the first game on PS1.
@@MadPanicGaming Have you played Fighting EX Layer from Arika? It has a lot of the original EX characters.
19:45 (ish), thank god for the theme song copyright claiming lol, I'm not a fan of live commentary while shopping, and I think the post commentary style you do makes these videos super enjoyable and very comfy.
I also don't really care for it, don't want people to get freaked out by the guy talking to himself.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE HOW ORGANIZED EVERYTHING IS!
This is the first video of the goddamn decade!!!!
just luke skywalker learning rey the ways of the hard off...
hell yeah bro she definitely looks 50 years old
She's such a kidder.
@@MadPanicGaming lol, how are things going out there?
Tachikawa...that's my old haunt! And that HARD OFF was the one where I sold my XBOX 360, PS2, all of their games, and multiple CDs for probably around $30 total. When I heard what I was going to get for all of that, I considered simply putting my stuff on the street with a sign saying "Free stuff. Take it. Go jiyuu ni o tori kudasai." Certainly, if I knew what I was in for, I would have tried harder on Craigslist and/or taken the lowball offer that I rejected (which would have still probably paid 5 times the price I got at HARD OFF). Well, hopefully someone could enjoy my stuff.
Staying with the in-laws in Tachikawa. Couldn't find the Saturn X-Men vs. Street Fighter in Akiba last week and figured you grabbed the last copy. Thanks for finding it again, I think I'll drive on over to this Off House/Hard Off lol
And I picked it up! Thanks again!
6:26 MAX DOODS THEME!!
this is all i could think about lmao
@@ghostdesignstv Same
Sakura Street Fighter EX3 theme but yeah you're correct
I wasn't aware he used it until I saw all of the comments on this video.
Having lived in West Tokyo, I imagine I’ve probably been to the same Hard-Off and train line.
Not a too bad range of stock and pretty decent prices, especially for some of those PS1/2 titles. Thanks for another great tour dude.
Always a pleasure.
Thanks for tour!
My pleasure. :)
Me @ 5:56
"YO DOODS!"
Cool video, great store & cool hello kitty controller
Great to see you back :)
Always great to be back.
Great video. I'll have to go hunting next time I'm in Japan
The bullshit meter is pretty high there Jim (Trying to charm destiny to go with you - I'm kidding), haha. Really loving all the music throughout the entire video my friend, great job with all the choices. Any hard off trip Jim where you can come out of it with a game for yourself is a trip worth taking advantage of.
Happy New Year Jim!
Thanks! Happy new year to you too!
Almost grabbed that Final Fight 2 from you. Love me some Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain on the PS1. Good stuff Jim.
Thanks!
Woudl really love to see metal gear games or possibly a run through for Street Fighte etc. please, thank you! Will be coming to Japan next month!
10:52 LIMITED EDITION BLACK ROCK SHOOTER THE GAME WITH WHITE ROCK SHOOTER FIGURE!!!! How much! I want it! (as soon as I get a job).
You passed by the Casio PV-1000 that is a rare system, but expensive.
Nice vid if I ever come to japan will definitely check out some of those stores p.s love the music in your vids was wondering what you used at the beginning and at the end! will be appreciated
His name is Rockman in Japan and Mega Man in US/Europe. Huh, go figure...
Am debating getting a neo geo cdz cost £370 for console only ☹️
Can you list down the tracks you used in the video... tracks sound pretty good
Wow. a IIDX ASC for 11000 yen... talk about a rare find.
Great videa as always!
Question... why are there so ‘few’ PC Engine games in the Hard Off? I understand it sold less than the Super Famicom but only by a factor of 2....
Is it because it is heavily collected?
Cheers! And happy new year!
I imagine that's why. I was just in a Surugaya today and they had a ton of PC Engine games.
The walk is fantastic love looking around at new places. You should get the WiiU to hack it! Love that old Nintendo pong machine. Can you use the Wii shopping channel music in one of your shopping trip video? ☺ ♥ 🇯🇵
I want to go to Japan so bad!!!
Very nice video. i would like to point out that someone really hurt himself in your video :) @25:11 seems like someone dove head first into stuff ...
Yeah, I wasn't paying attention at all but it looks like Destiny noticed the commotion.
Ugh I don't want to go to Japan until I'm a multi millionaire I'd buy everything
Jim that big king metal slime plush is how much, and the standard king slime at 13:42 Damn i need those, im a huge dragon quest fan.
I don't recall how much it was, but I imagine it wasn't more than $10 or $20.
Looks like Neo Geo Cd games are getting rare
A bit. Some of them are really easy to find tho. And cheap. Like Fatal Fury 3 & Samurai Spirits 2!
Yeah, it really depends on the game. Some are very easy to come by, others not so much.
Bought a PC Engine during Christmas break. What do you use to hook it up to your modern tv?
I have an HDMI converter, before that I was just using the composite cables.
20:13 Dragon Quest Monsters 1+2 ❤
1000 yen good price for KOF96 on saturn!? Oh! I found it in Book Off in the sale corner for 100 yen but didnt pick it up. I dont own a Saturn console unfortunately :/
100 yen? What kind of condition was it in?
@@MadPanicGaming Looked fine to me. It was in plastic of course so couldnt see anything inside. But theres was no stickers on it either.
Another great video. Quick question at the BOOK OFF store dothey sell books/manga in English by any chance ?
I don't believe I've ever come across any, but I suppose it's possible, if someone were to turn in some English books or comics.
$55 or so bucks for those Sailor Moon Barbie like dolls...damn. I used to have Sailor Jupiter as a kid but I totally destroyed her because I was a stupid little shit...I regret it. I didn't know they were that expensive.
It's amazing how you two ran into each other. It was almost like... Destiny
Exactly. We definitely didn't plan this weeks ahead of time. ;)
Jim and distiny! Strong 💪
Wonder twin powers, activate! Except, we are far from being twins but our powers still activate when we are together.
Wouldve gotten the Power Instinct game 🤤
If I didn't already have it. :)
More game hunting videos is A-Okay in my books Jim. 8^)
Anthony..
Right on!
@@NoelComiX You said it Noel. 8^)
Hey what’s the song playing while you’re on the train?
What did you pick up
I picked up a Super Famicom game called Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle and Destiny picked up some PC Engine and Super Famicom games, plus the Hello Kitty controller.
Just subscribed to Destiny Fomo. Didn't know about her!
I hadn't heard of her either until she shouted me out in a video and said I was one of her favorite RUclipsrs. A friendship blossomed from there.
@@MadPanicGaming A good looking gal too!
i’m new to the channel, what made you move to japan and how long have you been there ?
I first came when I was still in the military, then I returned for school and stayed for work. Altogether I've been here for about 9 years.
Also Jim....If you happen to see any good deals on Neo-Geo AES units that are labeled as "Junk", feel free to let me know. I'll be glad to Paypal you and pay for the S&H for it to be ship..I'll be also glad to give you something extra for your troubles on doing this for me bro.
Anthony..
OK, I'll keep that in mind, but Neo-Geo stuff in the junk section is exceptionally rare.
@@MadPanicGaming Thank you Jim. Yeah, certainly out of the ordinary, but will be glad to purchase and compensate you bro. 8^)
Young? I thought she was nearly 50
Love these videos! Going to Japan in summer of 2020 and I know I’ll be game hunting, but one thing I didn’t consider was the game regions. Do Japanese games play in American consoles? I know the gameboy and the switch aren’t region locked, but aren’t most consoles region locked?
Yes most consoles are region locked. The lastest consoles like PS4/Xbox One are not, but most retro consoles are region locked.
@@pirovash88 thank you... I'll keep that in mind before I go nuts buying stuff since everything I own is from the states.
@@baldybald100 I'd recommend buying Japanese consoles if you can, some are very cheap and at times more affordable than buying US games. Sega Saturn being one of those examples. JP games are far less expensive and there are plenty of titles you don't need to know Japanese to play.
Neo-Geo CD and PC Engine CD are both region free, the SNES only requires slight modification to play Super Famicom games, the Genesis too, or you could use a Game Genie. The Sega Saturn can play Japanese games if you have an Action Replay. Or, just pick up the Japanese consoles and your worries are over.
Jim do you have any interest in the new Neo Geo Arcade stick Pro? It looks pretty solid.
I played with it a bit at the Neo-Geo shop and it's pretty damn good, not sure I'll be getting one for myself or not though.
KidShoryuken Maybe wait until they release it in some new colors. Which they probably will do soon. 👍
That used to be a great Hard off for US imports, i guess a lot of military are stationed there from the airforce base.
Yeah, when I was at the air base years ago I used to hit a lot of the nearby Hard Offs.
I was going to make my own video "Retro Game Hunting in Tokyo with a HARD ON" but it's too hot for youtube.
I love your videos but I will love your vids more if you put som more pokemon stuf in it.
22:25 just peeped a _Words Worth._ Ain’t that a hentai!? Asking for a friend :P
@12:00 Damn it, now I want hotcakes
To the Waffle House!
@@MadPanicGaming I thought Americans only ate IHOP
most of the generic nintendo games like donkey kong and mario or mega man are way too expensive in the west. I cant wait to travel to japan and buy a bunch of staff xD
i would never ask my gf to "learn the ways of the hard off"!!!!
Poypoy isn't that an animation
You mean Puyo Puyo? I don't think so. They're puzzle games that were originally an offshoot of the Madou Monogatari series.
@@MadPanicGaming exactly👍
She sure is a beautiful gal.
nice girl, nice date ;)
Well, I wouldn't call it a date exactly (though we did have a nice dinner together) but she is indeed a nice girl.
