- I used FE Builder to make a gauntlet map to test gba fire emblem characters against every other class in the game. This installment features Amelia as our champion, and we can compare her performance against Roy, Lilina, Hector, Ross, Lyn, and all the future units we will test in the gauntlet.

The FE community does have a number of default opinions. Forde is seen as not great, but a lot of people think Lowen from the previous game is super great, so you kind of have to play it by ear yourself
@@jacksonhorrocks4281because Lowen is more comparable to Franz because of availability than Forde. Forde or Kyle get free XP but Franz is there from the start of the game. Kent and Sain get free XP (kinda, sorta, depends on if you play Lyn) but Lowen is there from the start of Eliwood or Hector. Forde has an odd mix of not being around that much and not generally being that great if you dump 5X's XP onto him

6:17 it makes a whole lot of sense now that the animations for the Uber Unit at the end of the Gauntlet are Amelia
VINDICATIOOON! Amelia rocks if you don't mind taking the time to train her.
I've always had a soft spot for her and make it a point to train her up, and give her the swiftsoles so she gets 7 movement as general. Seeing a speedy knight/general that can sweep through almost anything is just so fun
She's great fun! You get a very strange unit if you stick to the armour classes which is nice because it's different to your regular troops. But I do wish she came with a Hatchet type weapon.

Interestingly, the only differences between Armor Knight and trainee were:
Res +1
Mov+1
Con -4
So the only reasons for her to perform better as an armored knight are RNG, and being faster. +2 speed on iron lance, +4 on Steel Lance
And in a game where speed is one of the most important stats that's a lot.

I just find this thematically hilarious.
You've got this tiny girl that can barely lift a spear.
She then dons a huge suit of armor. Not only does it not hinder her mobility, it somehow allows her to wield her weapon much more easily.
But it grants her no extra protection, and despite being strong enough to wield her weapon much more nimbly, she can't hit any harder.

Would actually be really cool, to see which class options benefit characters more. ESPECIALLY the Trainees which end up having like, 3-4

There are two recruit classes coded into the game. You chose the post game one where they can level up higher, OR you disabled "Max Level 10" in the Character Builder/Class Builder of FEBuilder
Actually there are 3: the Base Trainee, the 'Tier 1', and 'Tier 2'. Tier 2 being what is given the term "Super Trainee" as it's technically an advanced class (with Ross and Ame getting the 15% crit boost).

What I'm surprised to find out is that people feel the need to go to the tower to train up Amelia when all I do is bodyblock an archer in either of the routes and let her poke 'em while I finish up the chapter, that's normally enough for her to promote.
Can literally farm exp for both Amelia and Tana using the trapped archer and healer positioning lol.
Alternate episode title: BaFE learns how great Amelia is.
Amelia's had an extra ten levels, to be fair.

Also Amelia did the best so far compared to Lyn who should have died in room TWO. That's crazy.

I know this might be an odd request but could it be possible for you to have Caellach in the gauntlet?
His level 12 stats are honestly lower than most of the max unprompted units you have used in the gauntlet so far and his PRF could just be Hoplon Guard.
Also, if the HP seems too unfair then maybe they could have Steel weapons instead (if that’s a concern).

Watching this revelation that Amelia can actually be pretty good is like seeing the birth of a TMP apologist in OG RE4. Everyone shits on it until they try it out. And they realize that it's actually really good but it takes a little time investment.

Prediction: I think Amelia will make it to the Fighter, then her luck will run out there.

when you start a max lv10 class at lv10 it doesn't work. make them lv9 and give 0% growths

Found your channel by mere chance, this was a pretty fun video! I'm always quite entertained by challenge GBAFE vids, looking forward to seeing more of your content.
heres a fun idea, in sacred stones through glitches, you can have any character use dark magic thanks to stone, and can even use monster spell attacks, so im thinking, if you decide to use a cleric or a priest or a troubadour as a unit in the gauntlet, you could give them evil eyes, the most basic of monster spell attacks. and see how far they can get anyway.
This was everything I hoped for lol. I don't even know who I want to see next. So many great and fun options available. I think I'd want to see an archer tackle this like Wil or Rebecca.
Marisa and Gonzalez are my favorite units from the GBA games so I'd love to see one of them!
I also wondered if you are able to recreate units from non GBA games or if that would be way too complicated.

People say don't make her a general but a max speed general is too funny for me to pass on
Amelia was the queen of Link Arena back in the day for the few who played that game mode so her performance here was expected.
My fiance and I were watching this and were discussing about how Caellach would be a good one for this. He is promoted but his stats aren't that different from Amelia's. I think it would be fair if you give him iron weapons, and to make it even more fair you could also give the enemies higher weapon rarity as well.

The apprentice units, ross, amelia and ewan are all insanely powerful units.
Ewan less so, i do like using him but everyone says that Amelia is the worst trainee which really isn't true when you compare all of them. Ewan is pretty similar potential lwise to Ross but he joins so late that training him is a challenge.
Looks like Amelia in Knight was just able to his the doublding benchmark for every single class based off how her T2 Recruit version couldn't double everything. Interesting run all around, the speedwing run was a fun idea too xD

If I remember correctly... Isn't there a necromancer class or somehing similar? Summons a weak skeleton to mainly help targeting priority. However, it sounds interesting to see that class in this gauntlet.

I'd love to see the how the "Fire Dragon" from the Blazing Blade clears the gaunlet. Surely the difference between his personal weapon, Flametongue; and his base weapon, unarmed (because he has no weapon ranks) will be vast. Perhaps in his fun run he can stand up to the fearsome child.

Please do Ewan so we get all 3 trainees rated. As a bonus, you could compare all three super trainees at 3rd rank (against promoted units gauntlet) and then rank which super trainee class is the best.
I was hoping you'd do General Amelia and the rest of her final promos... sadge... but I think that might need to be for an advance units gauntlet...
Generals usually have good bases and really good caps, the only reason most people don't like them is the mobility, which doesn't matter in this set up, still cool to see Amelia doing so well, it's actually pretty astounding.
I like to go Knight -> Great Knight with her, it gives her pretty decent con and it's funny to have fast GK who also has competent amounts of movement (and canto)

I know we gotta do Ewan next to finish the trilogy, but I wanna put a vote on Nino to further test the growth units in this space.

i'm not sure about silencer being that great for this though, unless he starts with an infinite use killing edge. It's only like 1/4 chance of a crit being a silencer proc, and without the big crit boost from killing edge that is only rarely going to happen

Have you thought about doing a reverse bracket, where it's a generic vs all the unique units in a row?
The only reason people think amelia is trash is because they rush her promotion at level 10, where her stats are not to their fullest potential. what the recruit units have taught me is that if you take your time and invest your time believing in them, they are far above any unit people would put in the S tier.
Amelia is considered trash not because of lack of potential, she is considered trash because she requires a lot of grinding to function, its not that she doesn't work, its that she takes a lot of investment to get going compared to other units you get way before her.
In this video, she gets shortcut to being the same level of other contestants so her caveats are removed.
Before turncount and time investments were considered in evaluating Fire Emblem Units, people thought Amelia was amazing, because most people just checked her capped stats.
I say that, i don't mean she is not fun to use, there is a lot of appeal in finding diamonds in the rough, but base lvl 1 Amelia is not helping your army to win the war faster.
She is still fun to train the same way people have fun training Nino.
@@mauricesteel4995 no argument here, but I don't know why people tend to brush the recruit classes like they aren't worth using AT All. When the end result tends to outshine even top tier units. It's almost baffling how fast the recruits are dismissed, isall.
Not to mention that Amelia can literally promote on join chapter poking archers and healers safely while the vanguard moves to clear boss and reinforcements. Level 1 Amy always turns out better than base Forde lol and all I did to do it was spare 10 exp from a unit not killing them outright.
For the child animation glitching out, in the item editor there is a menu that allows you to give it animations, you should give her Javelin #1 and it’ll work

I like Florina. I always give her an Angelic Robe, which makes her my best unit or close to it. I wonder if she'd be able to get past the archer, especially without the extra HP.

It's interesting to realize that the reason Amelia is considered "bad" is because she starts out so weak (compared to the enemies) that it's frustrating to train her. Once she's leveled up, her performance is just fine.
A lot of the arguments I see is that it's the amount of experience she needs that you could, on paper, give to other units. It never made that big a difference for me because I would often use her as one of my main knights/phys blockers. You don't get a lot of options so she works well for both taking and avoiding attacks. Her freaky little dodge tank/normal tank groove is what can make her a quirky boon.

I still cast my vote for both FE6 and FE7 Zephiel. No idea if FE7 Zephiel even has growths or is considered base or promoted, but whatever dumb things are fun.
...So, Amelia, a character who is 2/3 locked to lances until she fully promotes (and even one of those promotions is lance only, the super trainee)...
And if I remember right, the axe users are fairly early on in the gauntlet.
...I think Cavalier will do best, and cavalier MIGHT do pretty good as well. I don't have high hopes for Knight or Super Trainee though. Especially since Amelia's stats are likely to be pretty similar across all her possible classes, and Cavalier has the advantage of using swords and lances.
Edit: *sees Amelia's average stats at level 20* ...why do people say that Amelia isn't a good unit, again?
Also, you forget the true advatange of her being cavalier... SHE GETS A PONYTAIL!
And yeah, I never used the Speedwing on Amelia either. I mean, look at her stats. She doesn't really need it for general play.
