  • Picking up and delivering some half lego blocks for my Uncle. They are each approximately 2250 lbs. The trailer felt really stable with them loaded up, if I was traveling a further distance with them I probably would have made the request to the loader operator to re-position the 2 rear blocks more forward so they were dead center of the trailer axles, but I feel the tongue weight was perfect with the two forward blocks roughly half way between the trailer axle and the vertical portion of the goose neck.

I like to compare the 5.4l to the old inline 6 ford 300, slow, will pull literally everything but not at 90 mph, and gets a negative amount of mpg as it does it lmaoo

Put the ole truck to work 🙂👍. Nothing wrong with that! Just like you mentioned, as long as you can stop with that weight you're fine. Gas trucks are 100% capable like you said. Most trucks back in the day were gas and they built America with them

I appreciate your comment man thank you 😀 I haven't made any videos for quite some time as I need to get my computer fixed/replaced, but I owned an 06 LBZ Duramax for about a year after selling this white F350, the Duramax pulled like a train but I realistically couldn't justify the expense to fix the thing and much prefer the simplicity of a gas truck so I went back to a gas job. I've currently got a 2001 Silverado 2500hd with the big 8.1L Vortec engine & Allison Transmission and thus far I am very impressed with its capability. 😄

@@jaimegutierrez210 made it here last night, truck drove well, had to keep overdrive off during any sort of hilly areas, on flat terrain i used Overdrive as much as possible…. Most big hills were foot to the floor to stay at 50mph. Truck didn’t get hot, transmission stayed cool with a radiator transcooler bypass leading direct to a 22500 gvwr cooler (Derale 13504), (175 degrees Fahrenheit maximum). Weight distribution and a trailer anti sway bar made the drive easy, apart from lack of power i wouldnt know it was there. 8mpg average though =(. Drove from Toronto Ontario to Sydney Nova Scotia if you want to see the route.

I have a 250 5.4 Triton xl super duty with anautomatic trans. And I would select the tow option and the truck's computer (yes I said computer) would know when to shift, were to shift, what gear to stay in, it would know if a soft shift is needed..or not..my 2006 f250 knows when is being pushed or its pulling or its maintaining. It will know the torque needed to do the job .I keep my truck up, clean , and in top working condition. It's not going to put out unneeded horsepower unless its knows what to do. If you drive it like it has a carburetor, and that's what your doing....its no wonder its pulling like grandma is driving. How about letting that throttle position sensor do its job with the computer that's talking to your transmission thats talking to your drive train that's Desperately trying to adjust the valves not to mention fuel air ratio, that's trying to figure out if engine compression (engine braking) is needed when going down hill..pulling and carrying r 2 different things. When an object is in motion it tends to stay in motion. but when climbing or declining let the truck do the thinking. Your not going to hurt it by making it do something you would try to manually make a four barrel do.. oh if trailer brakes are hooked up properly the truck's computer will also know this and adjust accordingly...if all is working well, put that truck in tow and push down on that gas, i mean Accelerator, I MEAN THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR.. my 250 would pull that up or down or any which way without even sweating..,

@@RioElMystic-999 I've long since sold this old Ford truck (to my current boss coincidentally) and then owned an 06 Duramax thinking I would play in the diesel truck game, owned it a year and thought for the amount of serious towing I did that I could totally get away with using a gas truck so I sold it off and immediately bought a Silverado 2500hd with the big 8.1L Vortec and Allison Transmission and it pulls like no tomorrow. Easily my favorite truck I've owned thus far. I don't ever plan on owning another diesel truck again unless I run another business where it requires heavy towing daily.

That was 424K in km but that was on just the body/frame. The transmission was new when I originally bought the truck. Just did the engine a year ago, new springs in the back. New front end, steering box & pitman arm. Shocks. Front & rear sway bar rebuilt. 6.0L PSD trans cooler. Derale deep trans pan. XRF ball joints. HD 135 Alternator. Glowshift temp gauges. Full rebuilt front and rear axle with new 4.30 gears. Rebuilt front & rear drive shafts. And Wagner severe duty commercial brake pads. Did a LOT of upgrades to this thing lol

I mean a 5.4l will pull anything really, just mpg is the issue with it. The 5.4l isnt fast, its a slow v8 with good tq. The v10 is faster and more powerful but sucks up more gas than the 5.4l, thr 6.0(diesel) being the best of mpg and power. A 6.0l cpuld go 70 up with a 20k load on a trailer, no problem but 6.0ls are problematic if not bullet proofed
