I prefer the 1st one. I'd personally just do a pipe in place of the stock muffler and retain the stock tailpipe, keep it single exhaust. That'd be the cheapest option aside from being a hack and just cutting the muffler off and leaving it that way.

I have an 08 Ford F150 FX4 crew cab and I have them straight piped like the one in the first one. I think it sounds best. It's very very deep especially on a cold start and still has just the right amount of wah bah to it. I put a Flowmaster on it start with a single in dual out 40 series and kept the cat on it cuz I don't want no check engine lights on and it sounded just a lil louder than the stock muffler I was not impressed to say the least. So I told the guy at the muffler shop who put it on for me that if he would hack it off and straight pipe it that I would give the Flowmaster to him in return If he would just str8 pipe it out the back. I don't drive anything--but Fords and all of the ones I've had have sounded good it all just depends on what you're willing to do to it and what motor it has.dont take it the wrong way I'm not trashing flowmaster or after market mufflers the best sounding one I've had was a 92 flareside wit a 302 and a 1 in 2 out flow 40 series exhaust with no catalytic on it. It wasnt quite as baseful as the str pipe 5.4 truck I have now but definetly had more wah bah to it. if you're willing to cut the catalytic converters off I would prefer Flowmasters they sound great single in dual out one Muffler sounds gr8, but if you want to leave the cat on and not worry about no check engine light codes or emissions then straight pipes the way to go.

I have a 2008 fx4 with the 5.4 litre triton. I put speed daddy shorty headers on it. I kept the original cats. Then ran a dual in dual out super 10 flowmaster muffler. Then dual 4 inch tips on each pipe. It sounds amazing. When the weather clears up I will get a video and post it!!!
I got a 2000 expedition 5.4 with a flowmaster 40. I remember when I first got it installed it didn’t seem that loud but after a couple of weeks it really broke in and sounds much louder now than it did. I wanted to run dual exhaust but the expeditions have the gas tank on the drivers side.
My 2000 Expedition had a Flowmaster 3" cat back on it. Flowmasters are junk IMO, terrible drone and rotted from the inside. Switched over to a Magnaflow, less interior drone and no internal baffles to rot out, a true straight through design unlike the Flowmasters baffles.

Yes I agree with that, but it's to obviously loud like that. You end up hearing g not but the loud notes all the time. A perfect exhaust is where you can hear half the sound from the motor and the other half from the muffler/ pipes. You slap the cats back onto it and run that same setup your talking bout then it's just bout as good as it can get but without the cats you mine as well not even have a radio In it bc your not gonna be able to hear the music anyways. Really like your content but,,, WHO THE HELL is doing the pipe weld-up’s ? He needs some lessons on his bead work,, no way that sloppy mess would fly at our shops,, I would actually be embarrassed to send that out to a customer
You guys don’t think this is loud!???…. I don’t know what is????
Thank you so much I have been waiting for this video.
I have a 5.4 i want it to have a loud low bassy growl/rumble, i dont really want that crackling type sound..i want a consistent tone...what muffler would be best?
First one is my favorite.
I like the first sound 💯
I think the guy with the 6 inch tips was trying to over compensate for something.
Lol! I concur
Hes gotta an Alabama sticker too lol
That phaser knock lmao
#2 is my favorite by far in every single way. And i think it’s the last year they used the 2V instead of 3V, which is a huge plus.
Wait but the 3v fixed all the major issues of the 2v or am I wrong
04-10 is only 3v no 2v
@@ZackPack o4 heritage had a 2v
@CASharkHunter Absolutely not. The 3V was a horrible engine.
The 2 valve was basicly the crown Vic motor, indestructible block, in 04 they went to the 3 valve design which had alot of issues, a ticking time bomb honestlyn
At 5:07. Where did the right pupe go? Looks like it just dead stops
