I think thats also the reason we saw ryzen 5000 and not RDNA 2, with increased console orders, AMD has only so many wafers to go around and prioritized oem laptops.

      I'm looking forward to seeing reviews of the new Eluktronics laptops also. Mostly the Max 15 and 17 now that you can get it with the 5800h and 3080. Last year it was Intel exclusive but one of the best cooling performance in a fairly thin and light chassis. Also curious how the new displays stack up being that all the new 2021 laptops from Eluktronics are coming with 1440p 165Hz monitors now. The Max 15 is my top contender at the moment.

    • @TheMacco26
      @TheMacco26 3 года назад +1

      @@dracer35 Yeah, I kind of am focusing on a PCspecialist clone of the MAX-17, but those aren't coming with AMD yet. I am in the dire need to buy a new laptop so I'll barely wait the first reviews the 26th and launch an order I guess. AMD parts in XMG for example (NEO 15 and 17) aren't coming before end of March, for example. AMD might be a big bottleneck for the orders, same could apply to Eluktronics as well I guess. But if you can wait until mid April, sure, go for it (after having checked some reviews). Curious how fares the superior AMD CPU but with a bottlenecked x8 PCI vs an Intel CPU (still strong in single threaded) and 16x. I doubt meaningful changes (especially at 1440p). Big changes will be due to the RTX 30 my guess.

The thing is I need a laptop right now and have no clue about pricing and availability of the newer models. I'm inclined towards the Legion 5 refresh if it's around $1000k and isn't ridiculously out of stock within a couple of months.

    Do a video of comparing asus g14 2020 version vs 2021 version to see the new cooling and rtx 3060 upgrades and if they fixed the previous issues of the laptop. As this would tell us that how much harder are the new GPUs to cool in a thin and light chassis.

    So undecided if I need to upgrade or not my 1060 is enough but weight, size, styling, screen and battery can all definitely be improved from the red Helios

    I'm really happy with my Helios 300 2019 and i got it quite stacked with rtx 2060 i7 9th gen and 16 gb ram, for my standards that stacked. The only problem i had was, it did get quite hot, but i managed to undervolt it even more than the factory undervolt and now it's perfect, and runs everything. For me, money well spent!

    Asus tuf dash f15
    In my country the end user gets to pay +20% of the price, so a lightweight multifunctional machine for university and also gaming is pretty rare. The tuf a15 could perform better with the ryzen chips, but i like the design of f15 more

    Okay the G15 may be more popular than the G14 (2021)
    1. The G15 looks similar and is larger.
    2. G15 can go up to a 3080 and runs on AMD.
    3. (For some reason) G14 = 2020 G15 = 2021 is a logic some people may use. I can't seem to get it out of my head. Also, the fact that last year's G15 wasn't very popular doesn't help.

      Personally, if I'm spending the money for a 3080 laptop, I want a Max P design. Not a watered down Max Q. For that matter, you could get a 3070 Max P laptop that will most likely perform about the same but for less money. For example, my Eluktronics laptop with it's 2060 Max P outperforms several of the 2070 Max Q designs and is cheaper.

    I'm very interested on the Asus Strix G17 (G713) seems to be good bang for the buck, but still have to wait and see the prices in Portugal (Europe). Hopefully 2000€ would be enough for a 5900HX and RTX3070. I would like to see a 2K screen, but perhaps just on SCAR models...

    I'm scared for those new-gen Ryzen laptops.. My 3900x laptop reaches over 100-107 degrees through a Clevo chassis. Even after cleaning fans, heatsinks, pipes, new thermal paste and raised off the desk for better airflow - it still idles at 75-80c. Especially now in Sydney where its getting warmer and warmer now room temp varying between 20-30 deg c, I gotta manually set the fan to Maximum just to do anything on the laptop
