When is the review for G15 2021 coming?
Yo bro , what's up
sad state of affairs but it's the result of shooting of one's own foot ... this H35 bullshit could have waited .. how do you look launching quad cores along with your competitor's 8 core parts? .. they should have just launched full 8 core RKL and pushed this nonsense to the end of the year or something .. or maybe down a cess pit .

I can't imagine paying $1700 for a 4 core, Intel processor. You're absolutely spot on to point out that a laptop is so much more than appealing aesthetics, Dave. Great observation and recommendation.
(Asus TUF Dash f15) Got mine for $877 at Sharaf DG. It is the i5 variant with a 3050ti so no bottlenecking. Pretty decent machine tbh, but I can't imagine spending 1k on this. Even on the higher spec models it's utility and features are quite limited compared to other laptops in the same price range.

I have a razer blade with a i7 10750h (6 core) and 2070 max q I paid 1600$ for and it performed better then the laptop with a 3070, so much wasted potential
I got the Asus F17 AMD variant for £650. The thing I'm not satisfied is the 8Gig RAM, but it has an extra slot to be filled for like £30. Now, if I wanted a 16Gig RAM machine from the store, it is minimum 1000! 32 RAM is around 1600! ... Meanwhile you can buy 64 Ram for a couple of hundred.

Only the intel ones because who wants 4 core CPU in a high end laptop. It should atleast be 6 cores. AMD is giving us 8 cores and it is more powerful, efficient and runs cooler than intel cpu.
100th like
Super funny dude
Imagine if AMD has not developed Ryzen. Intel would still be selling quad cores as i7s. Wait they still are? in 2021? but how?
Intel had been selling 6 core CPUs for a while on their HEDT platform. Guess where AMD would be without intel.
Intel literally sold dual-core i7s for laptops while selling 10-core i7s on HEDT and are selling i3s in the same lineup as i7s with all four cores or an overclockable laptop i7 (with same corecount) as i9. How does any of that make sense? Right it doesn't. It's always been about deceiving customers the upgrade is worth it even if it really isn't (not saying four threads is enough in 2017 or onward).

So much respect on him. He’s one of the best tech reviewers out there.
I'll tell you my trap from experience: 50% markup for a "portable" gaming product compared to its desktop equivalent that is pretty much obsolete the day you get it because the GPU isn't upgradable and also deteriorates because you won't know the longevity of the chassis/trackpad materials used until 1+year in. So at the end of the day, you might just have an out-dated, finger oil stained item that you paid extra for the convenience of playing it in your dining room or bedroom.
I was going to get a gaming laptop but this same argument struck my mind and thank God I am now on my way to build a desktop pc.
If I had a dollar everytime I'd had to move my gaming laptop to where I need it, then I still have my gaming laptop with a high-end gaming pc
Some of us are students with limited budgets who need our single computer to be a decent gaming device for casual gaming, and also take that single computer to school and libraries. I think that is the demographic these are intended for. I certainly can not have a whole gaming setup for the one game I play + a school laptop. So I'm looking for laptops that can do a little of both.
Honestly, seems like a Steamdeck+lower-end laptop is the better combination (I'm using a Vivobook with a 3200U, but you could look for one with USB-C PD, and have just one power cable. Could also look out for where the new Ryzen 2 APU laptops end up in price).
Dude, everything in the camera is clean as frick, the dude has some nice sweater, the laptops are clean in their design, the Painting in the background is perfekt, dude how
Dave cud get it, ngl
I feel Dave's frustration. Love the honesty.
Yes I think so, because he loves intel
Even an AMD from last year cost less and performe better than Intel 4 cores !!!
That's the point, but for the thinner machines, intel is the king. Also I'm hoping to see something new with 12gen intel as the new CEO is from engineering.
@@enigma1704
Intel really needs to change many things to be in the competition again. This year and next year AMD and Apple will dominate the market if Intel doesn't fix its problem.
@@enigma1704 AMD humiliates Intel in thin and light more than they did on high performance models. It's 2021 and they're STILL stuck on 4 cores on thin laptops while AMD crammed 8 of them in just 15W (and that's not even mentioning Intel trying hard to make their benchmark look good by cranking up cTDP to 28W).
Intel are in this weird position where scaling down doesn't work (heavier 1T performance penalty), and scaling up doesn't work great either (10SF yields). So they had to create a H35 spec just to let Tiger Lake do its best...
@@bshenlow882 What should Intel do to get out of this mess?
H35 are not proper successors, of intel H mobile series, Intel will release proper H series later this year
it feels like Dave's outro music reflects his overall character and the atmosphere of the channel.
love D2D.
I bought a zephyrus m15 a few months ago and I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it. Idk if it fits into this video (it's an intel) but instead of the 1700 it retailed for I got it for 1250 because someone returned it.
Today when I walked into my economics class I saw something I dread every time I close my eyes. Someone had brought their new gaming laptop to class. The Forklift he used to bring it was still running idle at the back. I started sweating as I sat down and gazed over at the 700lb beast that was his laptop. He had already reinforced his desk with steel support beams and was in the process of finding an outlet for a power cable thicker than Amy Schumer's thigh. I start shaking. I keep telling myself I'm going to be alright and that there's nothing to worry about. He somehow finds a fucking outlet. Tears are running down my cheeks as I send my last texts to my family saying I love them. The teacher starts the lecture, and the student turns his laptop on. The colored lights on his RGB Backlit keyboard flare to life like a nuclear flash, and a deep humming fills my ears and shakes my very soul. The entire city power grid goes dark. The classroom begins to shake as the massive fans begin to spin. In mere seconds my world has gone from vibrant life, to a dark, earth shattering void where my body is getting torn apart by the 150mph gale force winds and the 500 decibel groan of the cooling fans. As my body finally surrenders, I weep, as my school and my city go under. I fucking hate gaming laptops.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen this copypasta
Bruh, y u here then ?

To think that intel learned zero lessons by getting crushed by AMD is just crazy

Randomly been finding loads of RUclips vids and news articles on gaming laptops after buying my Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3. So far everything I've read makes it sound like I got a good ass deal. Even got it for a few hundred off, and could spend extra on upgrades and software. I'm not complaining.
I really appreciate this format you use, usually under 10 minutes, condensed and clear message. Thank you for never just filling time.
Your video intro is, by far, my favourite on RUclips. No Music that blasts you while other people are around.
Your videos are so clean and aesthetically pleasing. The thumbnails are beautiful... Makes me want to binge watch Dave Lee videos
I just got the MSI GE75 10sf 2020 446 Model last Saturday and I'm happy with it. It has 5g video memory card, 500gb ssd drive, 1tb hdd drive and 17.3 screen and i'm happy with it.
I understand the point of your video and all, but I still haven't gotten over the bass in the new intro, it's incredible. I've literally rewound the video just to hear it again on headphones. I love everything you do, and all of your sets are beautiful
missive respect for D2D. It takes balls of steel to stand up against intel and do this. Most reviewers would take the easy way out and just publish what's told to them.
So laptops are not good
@@yoshimitsu8643 Intel gaming laptops are not worth the price, amds has better performance for better price
Honestly the only reason im personally still invested interest wise with intel is thunderbolt. Once AMD can use it(like x13) intel wouldnt have much left.
Same i am unable to buy amd laptop cuz i really need thunderbolt port
USB 4 is equivalent to Thunderbolt 4 speed wise, you can use adaptors I think for peripherals.
@@anch95 But my favourite laptops asus g14 and g15 don't have them and i don't know laptops that have usb 4
I thought USB C basically replaced Thunderbolt by now?
@@alouisschafer7212 the thing is usb c cannot transfer files as fast thunderbolt can
Here in the Philippines, the Dash F15 w/ i5 + RTX 3060 is actually a pretty good choice since it's the same price or even cheaper with other RTX 3060 equipped laptops but w/ 10th Gen i5.
Plus it's the thinnest RTX 3060 in the price range.
Yes indeed price was like around USD 1100-1200 and for some reason, amd laptops price are higher than intel.
If it has the 144Hz 1080p screen, that might be why. This laptop comes with two different screens, and I almost bought the shitty one. The colors looked so washed. Definitely not worth it.
@@peter_parkour can confirm it is the 144hz 1080p
@@peter_parkour is 144hz good or bad?
Everyone should buy AMD gaming laptop. Period.
I'm still hesitant because amd chips used to not last at all. I used to work in it a while back and AMD chip sets just failed all the time.
@@mwdaros times have changed my friend. My Lenovo flex 5 with a 4700u costed $750. It has 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd. The 4700u crushes my brothers Razer blade stealth which costed $1400+ it had a 8th gen quad core intel and an mx150. The igpu in my 4700u is even *better* than the mx 150. Battery life is superb but then again everyone should know this. The u series is probably only second to Apple's m1.

This laptop for all the oldies who are like: "AH I ONLY BUY INTEL CUZ ITS ALL I KNOW
the oldies know, that things come and go.
The one's who would choose a laptop having more RAM than the other
Those oldies sadly exist in my family and they buy those intel and dell laptops for my cousins (despite me referring them to better options).
Not really, the demand for AMD is massive but you can't buy anything right now due to shortages. I preorded a Asus Strix 17 on the 12th and was told a few days ago i might not get it for another 1-2 months, i figured i'd just walk into the local store and try the new Aorus 17G which is similar in price and i love it, sure I'd take AMD if i could get it but it's not like Intel are crap all of a sudden and the gaming performance is only a little bit slower than the Strix 17 based on GizmoSlipTech review with similar thermals.
I can pick tthe F15 brand new for $1050. Is it worth buying based on that price?

Dave: Heavy breathing
Thanks for being blunt and saying what needs to be said, this is what separates you and other reviewers.
Still my favourite intro: "OKAY"
Personal recomendation:
If youre getting a gaming laptop, set up a laptop dock. I do it, and it allows for a pretty portable gaming setup. Just have an extra monitor(i use a tv), keyboard and mouse and youre good to go. I kinda dont see the point in getting a slim laptop when your talking about gaming. Its going to get hot, its going to need processing power. Why constraint it.
And for tower fans yes, getting a tower is probably more efficient, but a gaming laptop with a laptop dock makes it incredibly portable. I visit my friend every weekend or so, and i can just bring my laptop instead of lugging a case around
Your channel just upgraded to my 'Must Be Notified List'🙌

I got an MSI GE65 (slim something) from XOTICPC...and it's a beast. As in, I can run RDR2 with most settings on ultra, a couple on high with 50-65 fps.
I think it's pretty good, especially for the price.
Here's the specs:
>i7-10750H
>RTX 3060 Max Q (Max Q means go down about 2 or 3 desktop gpus, so about equal to a desktop 2060, slightly better in some aspects)
>16gb RAM
>512gb HD (not that much ik)
>144hz 1080p (Looks amazing, but then again the screen is pretty small. Not a bad thing for me.)
>$1,200 base price
Considering laptops with anything above GTX cards are usually $1,400+, I'd say it was a good deal. So far, not much fazed it.

Intel does do gaming laptops with the 11800H line, which has the beans for gaming, but the thermal management needs to be on point for it to work.
