I've been wanting to crochet forever...I'm a knitter by habit. However, I have tried it and can do the Tunisian simple stitch. Your demonstration of this stitch was so clearly done that I said, I can do that. I watched the video and then read the pattern while watching the video to get familiar with the crochet abbreviations and I'm off to the races. My first crochet blanket. It'll be full of mistakes in tension I am sure, but it's so easy to do and so rhythmic. I'm having fun and have already decided on my colors for the next one I do!
My personal favorite is rainbow/baby colors. I love this pattern. I received a baby blanket like this in 77' for my 2nd baby. She has it now & used it for her little one. The person who crocheted the blanket is deceased-her name was Savannah E. Bless her sweet big ❤️. 😇. Thank you for this video- all of your vids & work.
I completely agree about the solid color losing the pattern and especially in white I have always found this to be the case. I like the self striping and Ombré yarns. I really like the blue background you are using it really makes it easier to see what you are doing.
Hi Glenda. This is beautiful. I would change colors every two rows because I do not like sewing ends in. I love how you teach so I can understand clearly how the pattern works
Hi Glenda! This is such a sweet version of a chevron. I must admit, that the 3 up and 3 down pattern makes it way easier to stay accurate…. For some reason, even though I’m careful, oon some of those 7 st up and down I get distracted and then my peaks or valleys don’t line up and I wind up frogging…tv will do that, lol…I’m thinking this could be fun in seasonal colors, or is there a way to do 3 rows color and 3 rows white only the middle white row being a Dc ch 1… um, the count wouldn’t work would it? I love this. My creative juices are dripping all over the place!🤪😋😊😉thank you!!
Perhaps the first row could be done in one hook size larger than the rest of the work to avoid the curling. Or maybe the first row after foundation chain could be done in the back hump would remedy the curl. I’m going to experiment since the curl would make me crazy!😊😂.
Hi Glenda! I LOVE the original pattern colors broken up with the white. I have a question. If I went up a hook size for that original change and sc would that help with the end curling up or no? Thanks.
Please can you tell me what make your crochet hooks are? Yours seem to have a different design of hook end to mine. My hook end is smaller and more rounded, but yours seem deeper. I struggle with my hook sometimes as a beginner crocheter, so wondered if trying a different sort would help. Love your videos and have learned a lot so thank you 😊

I use the Susan Bates in-line hooks
What yarn do you recommend for a baby afgan
Mine is twisting on the first and second row, I tried to do the chain loosely , will this sort itself out later on in the blanket...
