I record the voiceovers by making it up as I go along (no script) - so unfortunately a few errors will creep in every now and then. It's not as bad as when I said ODB instead of OBD for an entire video. Be aware that Megabytes, Gigabytes and Terabytes are very likely to be transposed without warning at some point in the future.
You may find this hard to believe, but I am still using an iPhone 3G (the one before the 3GS). It doesn't record video or have auto focus and takes terrible pictures. I will however finally be upgrading this year when the next iPhone comes out. I'll have to because a company in Taiwan is already sending me a case for both it and the iPad mini. I may then be able to test some other interesting iPhone accessories.
Please read the blog (link in the video description) if you plan on imparting a nugget of information about 360º video - I may have already covered it in the accompanying post. You should also already be aware that you can't post any links in RUclips's comments, but you can do on my blog.
I've been looking at these - but even when discounted they are still very expensive. I've also got issues with one of my eyes at the moment, so anything 3D is off the table for the foreseeable future.
It's Xmas for me too every time a new gadget gets delivered. I think Sony is struggling to find its direction. All these discounted Bloggies whilst great for the consumer, must have cost them a fortune. They are making some excellent cameras at the moment though and I'm very tempted by one of their 55" TVs...because its the only one around that hasn't sacrificed sound quality in pursuit of an ever thinner case.
It's funny how I've been googling lot of gadgets latly and I've bumped into your videos so many times now! Love how you seem to review the obscure stuff I'm interested in! Already subscribed, which is why I now recognize your voice and name, haha! Funky!
So, it's a boring day and I get another fantastic review from Techmoan. It is kinda like Xmas in August because it is fun to see the toys you review. As always, a bit of British Humour embedded in the video. In this case, I am convinced that Sony is a company on the way out. They remind me of NCR or Commodore. They HAD great ideas, but just don't care anymore.
Interestingly the video max resolution is 720. I could see a slight difference between the two photos shown side by side. The 1080 photo was slightly sharper than the 720 but I guess that is because you zoomed in a bit even though the video itself was 720.
i've never had any problems doing it this way, just use lots of overlap between the photos and you'll be fine (50mm at F8 on FF camera). I rarely use a my panorama head, I only found it necessary for very confined spaces such as cars when using an ultra wide angle lens.
you can do 360 degree photos with every camera if you can screw it to a tripod. It is cheaper to buy the stitching software to combine multiple shots & that way you'll get allot better quality. Although not every part of the picture is from exactly the same moment, so it wont work for every subject. - Thanks for making this video, it is greatly appreciated.
Try importing the 360 video into the GoPano app on the latest iDevices, it should feel a little more interactive compared to the default Sony software. This all plastic 360 lens still looks a step up from the GoPano attachment for the iPhone but usability is not quite there yet; without the convenience of viewing the 360 image properly on the device.
Ah, in addition, I watched this video in inspiration after reading/seeing the Tamaggo, and you mention it in the clip! What a coincidence! Sure hoping that camera will come out sooner than later. Just emailed them about feature requests earlier today ;)
This is one of the major reasons I appreciate your videos... waste of money and as you stated, just a novelty... in reference to the 360 lens... and the other is the good values from otherwise cheaper and less known cameras... a bonus is the "travel-log of sorts" throughout the UK... ;)~
I have a Bloggie, but a limited release I think MHS-CM5. 5x optical, flip out view finder and smoother focusing but nothing too amazing. Sony should go back to making more of these tiny handycam type units.
I think the Tamaggo has already gone the way of the Dodo unfortunately. Tamaggo_360 has just made one tweet in the last 6 months and that was 100 days ago. Their website hasn't been updated in 6 months either. I suppose it was all just too good to be true, shame.
Hrm. Yeah, I kept researching it online and found out (and saw myself) that the panorama samples published so far were only simulations, stitched from normal photographs, meaning the mockup hardware was just that. The lens is real though, Immersive Media could make a camera of their own, make a lens for MFT or any other system camera model or make an attachment for the GoPro 3 Black edition, would fit their 1440p mode just fine. Aaah, the dreams of panoramic video... so distant again.
If you standing still or mount it on a tripod or something and not move around it will take a great videos and photos... try filming and walking.. man i can’t stand the shakiness... yeah and the delayed focus is sucks.. I dont think that it has any stabilization or something like that..., mine is mhs-ts10
Uhoh. Was just googling around for 360 cameras again after the geonaute 360 was announced at CES. Noticed that tamaggo was now listed with a subdomain, and voila... site update, and they now list two video modes. Shock! I wonder if they are actually on track, though a year late... o_O Who knows. Apparently I cannot include a link in my comment but their normal URL goes to the new subdomain.
i agree smartphones have really good cameras that why Flip does not make cameras anymore cuz its not worth it for ex why spend 80$ when i can get a smartphone with a good camera on it or better for that money i see only few uses for cameras like these what you showed at the end for people who want to record when they are doing extreme sports or somethin for other stuff not much
"Rugged-ized" smartphone: Casio Gz'One Commando. Shock resistant, Gorilla glass screen, waterproof to about 6 ft. (2m) A real construction-work / outdoors-type phone. Compass, temp, gps, pedometer, etc. May be worth your time to review. Hoping to get one soon, when my Verizon, 2 year upgrade comes up.
Thecnoman can you help me I have a Sony camera like the one you are showing but my is old maybe 5 years or more and I forget how to use it I am charging the camera but I don't know if is working the light that show is amber but I try orly but don't turn on. I will appreciate your feedback
hi my friend, look up zollotech , he reviewed this 360 cam about 2 years ago, and it was the same sh*t ;) bascliy just another model, but the 360 lens is equal greetings

its cool how fast that technology improved over the 7 years with much better quality 360 cameras
Thanks to Techmoan's clips, I just wanna visit Manchester!

Absolutely love it - can't praise it highly enough.

For screen capture I use the built in function in Quicktime Player on the Mac.
Thanks for the info...I would never have thought about looking at their site again. Fingers crossed for a release.
So handy to not only see where you are going but where you have been all at the same time! So useful! 🤔
I bought this camera many years ago, and I still use it.
do you still have this camera? how do you transfer videos from it to newer laptops?
@@fearofsex I use an iMac, and it work well.
I'm from Manchester, and that tram horn at 6:43 genuinely put a stupid smile on my face

Yes I'm aware of that one - although not really a serious product, more an experiment.
Is this good for RUclips vides?
+Hoodie right on time

Now this is vintage tech..... now.
Just great to see a good view on a camera I have thought about. But now I am thinking maybe I will wait for now, thanks!

Hi
Look up "BloggieUnwarper" or "download BloggieUnwarp for OSX"
there;s open source software for unwrapping the donut video..
Ah, in addition, I watched this video in inspiration after reading/seeing the Tamaggo, and you mention it in the clip! What a coincidence! Sure hoping that camera will come out sooner than later. Just emailed them about feature requests earlier today ;)

Your presentation is super. Clear and concise. I wonder what software you are using for your screen capture. Thanks.
Do you buy all these products just to test and review them?
I really like your videos.Have you done any reviews of car back up cameras?.
Are there any cameras these days that can do it for a reasonable price? To be clear, I want to buy this for fun, to really for any professional use.

How's the new motorcycle been?
Have you done a review on the Sony Blogger Duo? I saw your other review on the Sony blogger and just wondered what your thoughts are.
You should check out 360 degree video with the Oculus Rift VR Headset. Personally I think it could be the future of movies.

Your review always very good and completed with many useful information. Anyway will you review Sony 3D personal viewer.

hahaha love that comment. "sony really do know how to put things together, sometimes."
Is the maximum continuous recording time still 30 minutes? Is there any way around it so it could record long than 30 minutes at a time?
hello their is their any bloggie click on this new model on my old one ts10 it clicked when i made some video clips.could you let me know ta..
Deansgate bus-swipe ftw!
If you standing still or mount it on a tripod or something and not move around it will take a great videos and photos... try filming and walking.. man i can’t stand the shakiness... yeah and the delayed focus is sucks..

can I put it in water???
Can you maybe review Swivel dock for Iphone/gopro.
From what i know that goes for videos but not for pictures and its not like it cant show the full size
Aaaw thats a shame,
Well as for the pictures, i hope you know about the "Photomerge" option in photoshop if you really have to take a 360.

Matt, thanks for the review. :)
Is there any way to mount this on a tripod? Like with an optional extra or something.

well 4:3 or 16:9 it relative to your monitor actually
the 16:9 look obviously better on my 16:9 monitor, i guess that you have a 4:3 monitor
what system was used on the bike?

The street around 6:00 looks like Scalectrix.
drug scales :D
they really should've added 2 tripods to this, otherwise you're also gonna need a cellphone tripod clamp
Did you say "drug scales"?
Glad, I saw this. What a disappointment
According to my drug scale 😂
hi my friend, look up zollotech , he reviewed this 360 cam about 2 years ago, and it was the same sh*t ;) bascliy just another model, but the 360 lens is equal
