- The Sony Bloggie Touch review. The Bloggie AKA MHS-TS20, AKA the "Mobile HD snap camera" is a pocket sized full HD camera featuring a slim line body with a brushed aluminium finish.

ive never really been intersted in cameras or gadgets until i started watching your vidios about half a year ago, and now i find this type of thing facinating but have never hade the money to really try anything you review for my self. this small camera woudl be a great start for someon who isnt used to holdinf real cameras and just want to be apart of what you see.
Blunty, the reason i need this Sony Bloggie Touch, is because in April i will be going to Italy for a school study tour. With this camera i will take daily vlogs and pictures from which i can show my friends and family when i get home. I currently do not have a video camera and would definitely find this very handy and useful. Hey Blunty - The reason I need a Sony Bloggie Camera. My wife and I are FINALLY going on our honeymoon (only a year late). We are driving ourselves, across Europe, visiting all the major sites and small towns. We will use the Bloggie to capture all the candid moments - from all the antics we get up to in the major cities, capture the local culture in small towns and all the fun we have together travelling in the car. We want to capture the moment and share it with others.
I would love to have a Sony Bloggie because I am a film maker and could use it to plan shots, document the making of my films, bring it with me on location scouts and carry it with me everywhere so I don't have to lug around my big boy camera.

I am a student of culinary arts, and as such, I spend most of my time either studying or working on my internship hours (which do not pay). I cannot afford a camera, but I could very well use one to record some classes. I have never had a video camera before, even though I did (and still do) want one, but the problem is that I live in Argentina, and technology here is disgustingly expensive.

i seen a guy playing the bagpipes on a skateboard in my local skatepark, no joke, and i had nothing to video it with. I never want to miss out on anything that awesome ever again.

My daughter would absolutely kill for this thing. i have been thinking of giving her my flip but then i have nothing to film with myself other than a desktop web cam. this is a really amazing camera though, i had a hands on look at one of them before but had no idea of the capabilities till now. this is pretty slick actually.

The reason I could use a nice and easy-to-use camera is that I am soon moving away from my hometown which include most of my friends and family for school.
The camera isn't for me, it is for my family to film some fun stuff (like my newly born brother) and our baby cat (but I consider the newest brother to be somewhat more important) so we can save those precious moments like the first walk and so I experience them as well.
This is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for. I've recently started up doing video game reviews for a blog, but want to start to transition into Video reviews, but I also want something small and portable to maybe do v-logs when I go on vacation with my family (which I do a lot). As much as I like it, my old school camera doesn't get very good quality video, audio, memory space, or battery life.
That's why I'd REALLY like one of those.
I want the Bloggie to take video of the wildlife around my area as well as the amazing landscape and trees. We get great sunsets and the snow looks beautiful here!

I'd have great use of that little clever thing as I study film and while we can borrow cameras for projects, I have nothing to experiment on my own free time with. I'd love to be able to shoot all those magic moments you don't want to miss and also try out new stuff so I can get better at editing and shooting.

Well, I don't exactly NEED this camera
but as a senior high-school student I would like to experiment and honestly just play around with it and who knows, it could be useful later for any upcoming major assignments.
Nice video Blunty, I really do like the HD recording nature of the Bloggies, but SONY could still do with a few tweaks before it's perfected. Because of this I imported the MHS-CM5 overseas model that has some advantaged like optical zoom and a focus that doesn't spaz out and a screen that rotates.
I don't know even if I deserve it more than anyone else here, but this camera could be start of something for my passion. I have a passion for multimedia, and have recently done a Film-making course here in SA and entered it in the Mullet film festival and WON! Sadly we used the cameras the the MRC had loaned to us as a part of the course. So even though I know it isn't the greatest camera for film making it would be a great start. So thank you for this opportunistic moment.
Just bought mine today and it was the last one AT ALL BEST BUYS IN INDIANA. No joke. The camera is fabulous and i love it. I was excited for it and sony has made another quality product. If i could review it, i would definitely give it a 10. Dont question it. Buy it

Durning the summer me and my mates are going on a tour of the UK before going to university. With it being the last big thing I do with my current mates I would love to keep a record of every thing we see and do. Having never owned a video camera the simplicity of the interface would be brilliant. Plus it would always be handy to have a camera at Uni :)
I would very much like the sony bloggie as I believe it would get that much closer to being more like you, the personification of a greater than symbol, a deity amongst us mere mortals and most importantly every time I use it, I would be reminded of what a generous and kind man you are.

I would like to own that bloggie because I am a media student, this year finishing my 2 year course and heading out to get a job in film. With this camera I could capture every interesting moment of life here around London, prove my camera and editing skills here on youtube, and because I like shiny things.
I need one because having a hi def dedicated camera is a very handy piece of pocket stuffing. Unlike my phone, it is easily accessible to get into camera mode and capture the moments that would have otherwise been missed. That camera seems like it would do a perfect job and the name, Bloggie, fits it nicely. I know I will use it daily, and it would give sony word of mouth advertising. Most off all, it just seems like a really awesome piece of technology that I would to get my hands on.

as a vlogger i am in need of a device that is easy to take with me on my trips, something i can easily grab out of my pocket and record on the go, without having to worry about something big and heavy. i understand that through your review that a device like this would help. so yeah, im sure your decision shall be a good one
I'd Need one of these Spectacularly awesome bloggie camera's, so I can start doing Gig Logs or "Vlogs" of my events that I play at, as I am a DJ! It looks far more appetising in feature set than Cisco's "Flip" line of camera's too. This video actually restored my faith in hand held "Vlogging" camera's as the Flip and Kodak's Zi6 etc. The picture quality and feature set was just too limited. Very Impressed Sony! I deserve to win a bloggie because it would stop my girlfriend from nagging me about going out and buying one anyway. I had been eyeing this device for a few weeks now as a present for her (she's a musician/vlogger) and it would be an ideal present for our one year anniversary coming up soon.
This review has basically cemented my desire for this camera rather than other ones... great job Blunty!
Currently doing a diploma course in multimedia, would absolutely love getting a good quality camera to work with. My main cam is a Nikon D80 with a bunch of lenses (almost ashamed of the money I have put into them). A high quality HD video camera is next on my list, winning one would just be awesome.
Fairly surprised at the low-light quality too, definitely better than the flip mino "hd".
I cant really say I need one but I sure would enjoy having one when I wish to capture all the beauty of the Oregon coast as well as I love to record firearm shooting.
I'd like a Bloggie because the current camera i'm using is the iTouch 4Gs one - a far cry from the iPhone 4, and with the most hopeless mic you'll hear.
Plus, these things look like they can be mounted with relative stability on a fair few places, which would be a massive plus.
Like some other people on here, I don't "NEED" this camera, but I feel that I could produce far higher quality videos than I am now with this camera, as opposed to my cheap Insignia flip camera that I got off of ebay for US $23. Thanks Blunty!!

Hey Blunty awesome review. i would love this camera because i'm getting deployed to Egypt, because i'm in the army, and would love to use this to get some footage to show my family when i get back.
I want this camera because Spring time is on its way in over here in the UK, and my parkour team will be getting back into the game again. We're a relatively widely known team here on youtube, and as of yet we've not had a decent HD camera that can capture us doing our stuff in good enough quality, and we feel we owe it to our supporters and other learning Parkour Practitioners to deliver high quality videos, with high quality content.
@VRPudz In the context of built in mics, pretty decent, It'll get the job done nicely enough, but it isn't gonna blow you away (Nor will the built in mics on cameras 2 or 3 times the price for that matter)
I need this camera because I want something easy to use, with the great quality that you choose about. The only thing which I hope you won't disqualify me from winning was the fact that you never mentioned anything about the audio quality. i have looked at a lot of pocket HD cameras and this one seems to have everything i need :), i have been trying to do a game based review show for some time but have been stuck using my crappy webcam as my only means of recording something. I cant afford to get a nice camera and would LOVE to have one of these. :) from one reviewer to another, keep up the great work blunty
Hi Blunty, i'm a 19 year old student living in Melbourne studying Animation and Interactive Media. I'm in my second year and to be quite honest it's been hard for me to transition my University projects at home/casual days like weekends. Usually i go to the Uni office, line up, sign a consent form and pick up the Nikon D5000, which to be honest takes a heck of a long time. By the end of the day i go to the office line-up to give them back the camera. Unable to continue what i enjoy casually.
I will definitely say this video does a SUPERB job at enhancing the pros to this camera. I got it two years ago, and it's not bad at all in image quality, but the silver top of my camera is slightly loose and the silver metal casing is lightly scratched. None of this, of course, is the camera's fault. Nice camera I have to say! Make my videos with it!
I really want this camera since my brother stole very old Sony cam. I have always fancied Sony cameras since I think they do absolutely gorgeous products for those who do freelance work. I think having this cam will also help me in pushing through with my creative projects. Of course, It's free so what the heck! choose me!
I need a sony bloggie touch because I am an animator of sorts and my inspiration for making stop motion videos is you! Unfortunately, all the cameras I get usually have terrible auto focus or don't take really good shots. Also, for a lot of my live action videos, they require me to walk around. They stability of the camera would allow me to get crisp, clear walking scenes.
I'm majoring in film production at Brooklyn College here in NY and I don't even have a camera of my own yet. I have been watching your videos for years and whenever I see a video of a camera you are reviewing I think, "Imagine what I could film with that camera if I had it!" Being in the fringe of my schooling years, I am in search of something to help aspire towards my currently amateur producing career. Being in the presence of analog camera's limits the potential for real world filming, something which I hope to follow through with one day. The pleasure I gain from editing simple clips against music is unparalleled by other activities, hopefully this is a sign of the passion I share with other producers such as yourself. smiley face.

Hi there Blunty, as a high school senior, I'm currently studying video based visual art for the semester, so I think this would definitely help me out a bit.
As well as that, I could help out with school photography and I'd actually have a decent hobby for once.
I need one of these because i need a pocket camera to film school purposed videos around the school in order to highlight certain projects and events without borrowing the the tv-j teacher's cameras and clunky equipment. Also, it would be nice to have a pocket camera with better quality then my phone's camera for when I'm with friends and having fun. Not to mention this camera looks amazing and i do not have the money to afford one.
@biorez1 That was simply because I was trying to use the camera while looking at it through the viewfinder of another camera, makes hitting the mark a bit more difficult as you may imagine... in normal use the touchscreen has been perfectly responsive for me.
Reasons why i need the camera because:
1) I have just started getting interested in photography and film and dont have a proper camera yet.
2) I have just started yr 11 at school and I am doing multimedia which involves a lot of filming.
3) Because i need something to record the Brisbane supanova with.
4) Because I'm an Aussie
I would use this to catch every trip i got to (I travel alot) and I would show my family that live around the world and my new friends i make when i visit a new place.

Recently, my brother's cat died due an ongoing stomach condition. He was so devastated by the loss and to make matters worse, he is in a huge debt due to the ridiculous vet fees. This camera would help him tremendously because he has a baby on the way. My brother always said he wanted to record his boy's first day on earth but with these huge vet bills, I just can't see him affording a camera anytime soon. It would be amazing if I could surprise him with this camera.

I'm a musician and since it is VERY important for musicians to have a decent online presence, this camera would be just perfectly fine for our needs. I'd film us writing songs, rehearsing, on the road, at the backstage and at all the other things we musicians do. so yeah, that'd be great if you chose me/us :)
I need one of these camera's so that i can finally film my tech reviews and other wonderful videos that i have dreamed to do for a very long time. I was think of doing a video series on how to build, setup and maintain things like computers and laptops and what not as well as how to identify and fix problems that may happen.
I'd like a Sony Bloggie so I can finally get a decent recording device for my IT and Film&TV classes in my final year at school. Being in these classes, you kinda need a good camera for both still shots and video and my school is too cheap to provide us with cameras, and with this Bloggie, I can get quick shots with great quality in hardly any time at all.
Right now I'm using an iPod Touch 4g for my images and videos, and that should speak for itself...
i would love to get a camera, for the anime Boston convention around April, since all the recording devices in my house hold are extremely heavy or lack anything to a battery life, i have worked with this type of camera before and you are 100% right about the running and jitteryness and when you use the camera in a highly active setting, its easier to maneuver in tight spaces.
the main reason i would need one would be I'm a media student currently working in my second semester and a little camera like this would be lovely to have.

Well Nate, i wouldnt say im in a high need of a camera such as this. But i think the experience of going round filming outdoors would be a great benifit for me, seeing as i dont go out with my friends or anywhere at all in my current predicament. Its not a nice feeling being told i have a social phobia.. not being as confident as i was many years ago. So i think having something as enjoyable as this could be.. may get me back out and enjoying activities more often with old friends x
Hey Blunty- I've always been into video creation and editing and other stuff, but have only really had a low quality digital camera to work with, limiting me dramatically with what footage I can use or which locations I can and cannot use. Frankly, I was downright impressed with what this camera is capable of, and am thrilled to hear about the giveaway.

Hey Nat, I neeeeed a Mobile HD Snap Camera. I'm a uni student, studying education, about to commencement teaching rounds in a secondary school. My core subject is media production, and to introduce something as efficient and cost conscious as what you reviewed would be fantastic. Of course, by obtaining one first and demonstrating around the school (through different students assignments) I would be able to demonstrate the necessity of such a portable device to the powers that be :)
i need the bloggie camera because I just don't have or own a camera. The best camera I have is from my nokia 6280 which i bought years ago. If you haven't seen the quality of it yet, it is horrendous compared to the advanced cameras of today's modern society so I wouldn't even regard it as a camera. In addition, i'd just like to let you know I've subscribed to you for over a year and I am very pleased with the reviews that you post.

This would be an awesome camera to receive. I have been wanting to make some videos, but I don't have a camera. I remember talking to my friends when doing a school project where we made a video. We wanted to record some things about our research like an interview, but none of us had a camera. This camera seems light and compact without loosing quality. So it would be really nice to get a camera like the bloggie.

I always seem to find myself in situations that need to be recorded for one reason or another. Sadly, the video camera on my phone is garbage, so several of these events are missed. This is why I would like to have this bloggie touch camera.

I'll be honest... I would want one so that I could more easily make videos with my friends, either cooking, making music or just plain having fun. I've also been kind of into the blogging business, but because of a large camera I didn't really find it an attractive hobby. I believe such a camera would maybe help me achieve more video content for myself and my friends! And that's my résumé.
I use this camera all the time. Brilliant piece of equipment.
Never really had a proper camera - tried recording with the phone cameras etc but it's just not good at all, and I absolutely love recording things, being creative but my lack of a decent camera prevents me from taking it further which I'd love to do. It's also my birthday on the 22nd, so it'd be a nice 'day before birthday' surprise!
By using a Sony Bloggie I would finally be able to have a small hand held camera that records very detailed footage for RUclips, I am sure my fiancé would like me taking photos of wedding dresses and other girly stuff but we all know the Bloggie would require a much harder challenge. Either taking footage of race cars or taking footage on board a beautifully restored steam train, Seems like this little unit it most certainly up for the challenge. I wouldn't mind having one considering I've been debating on which Flip camera I wanna get. I used to have a Mino but have been debating on an Ultra since they are now slimmer than they used to be but I'm still not a fan of their design differences This camera seems to be MUCH better in low lighting situations and has the ability to shoot in 1080p. Gotta say it's making me think about getting one, although getting one for free would solve that problem. :) Pocket cam first, DSLR later.
I'd love to have one so I could give it to my Dad, who does photography as a hobby to support our family. I know he'd really appreciate it, as it's his 52nd birthday is in three weeks. My Dad has given me so much in my life, and I'd love to give him something in return (as small as it may seem!).

im going to be serious for once, im a high school student and im very interestd in getting into youtube video making and production, but because i am doing my A levels at the moment (not too sure what the Aussie equivilent is sorry) i have very little free time to make such videos. a camera like this 1 would be perfect because i could bring it anywhere and still shoot wonderful footage whilst being able to share it with the wonderful youtube comunity. thanks Nate :)
I would love one of these cameras for a school project I have to do at ex'pression College in Emeryville, California. The project is making a blog, and my topic is "Online relationships" and how gaming bring people closer and not feather apart. The reason the camera would be useful is b/c we have to film interviews and I plan on filming some gaming with friends. (Post 1/2)
The 21st is my 1 Year Anniversary with my lovely Girlfriend. I'm also a student doing a bachelor in multimedia design on a school that lacks good equipment, most people on my school have bought their own camera by now but I don't have the money to get anything good for myself. So I'm usually stuck using bad school camera's, which doesn't give me a lot of chance to explore and cross the boundaries of my "talent". The Sony Bloggie would be perfect to start something with. I'd love you forever. xD
The reason why i would like this camera is i wish to start being able to move more freely whilst doing tutorials and this camera would allow me to create a better video and overall a better experience for the viewers that i have and any that i will accumulate in the near future.

i would like one of the Bloggie camera's because i skateboard a lot with my friends. we have a camera but unfortunately it doesn't have good focus, good white balance quality, and it doesn't have an autostabilization feature. so you can imagine how jumpy the image is on film when you're filming your friend pumping around a bowl at 25 miles an hour. well thats my reasoning for why i should recieve one of the bloggie video cameras. thanks and have a good day!
I got a simple reason I need this cam. I'm using an old cam right now, can't remember its specs but to put it on youtube I have to plug it to the tele, comp the vid to a dvd, then burn it, then change the format. so much freaking work for a novice director like me.
Great review, Blunty! I'd love one of these things. I go on a lot of family trips and vacations, and filming with a digital still camera with a video mode really isn't that great. We go on lots of tours involving a lot of walking, so the smoothness of the video would be nice for that. Also, I've been thinking of doing my own electronic reviews. I've seen a lot of other people do it, and you're a pretty big inspiration for it too :) That's why I need this camera! :D
I dont really need this camera because I've already got a Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5, but I wanted to say that I really liked the way you did this video....totally pro.
Never owneda handheld still/video camera of any sort, and its for that reason that i find myself so irked on many occassions where by the moment passes that i wish to capture.
I won't plead, as I am more than aware of the fact that others follow your videos far more religiously than i do, so perhaps are more deserving, what i will say though, is that this seems to be a great entry level camera for a beginner like myself, and so would suit my needs.

Digital photography and video has always been something that I've liked to play with, though something I sadly lack the funds for. My not-so-trusty Cybershot has trouble in all but the lightest of conditions, and with travel around Europe in a few months would be nice to record the memories with this device.
Plus, all your recent videos on cameras have made me very jealous :P
Hi Blunty - the reason i deserve a bloggie is that its Sunday, and i've been working for about 9 hours. while i'm not happy about that, i hope that receiving a bloggie would ring balance to the force once again...LOL

I need one because I am going to the Monte-Carlo Grand Prix in Formula One, and i'd die for a camera that could capture the awesome moments, because I don't have any cameras, not even on my phone...
