Very interesting opening analysis. I wonder if Black's safest option is 2...d5, as Karjakin played in the 2016 match against Carlsen.

Yeah, very playable this 2 ... d5, although maybe not better than Ne4.
After 2 ... d5 probably the line of 3.Bxf6 is interesting, as I mentioned in the other video about how to play Trompowsky.
