Okay as a home decorator I did a jungle room for my son. He loves safari animals. I did this really cute safari animal wallpaper halfway up the wall, upper wall painted sky blue. Leaf trim for border and I’ve been try to figure out how to do a simple grid for the ceiling to hang vines and his favorite stuffed safari animals. Thank you! You helped me figure it out with the j pegs, supplies and instructions.😊

I'm really glad I found this video. Explains in really good detail how to do this; I have to put up the ceiling in my 38.5x48' shop before they can blow in the insulation. Do you happen to have a video on installing interior metal siding also? :)
Nice video! Of the two garages I’ve installed metal, it’s more helpful to screw off next to the overlap rib instead of the midpoint between ribs. This ensures your overlap rib is tight to the profile of the adjacent panel. That way no sagging can occur and if there is a slight misalignment of panels (say 1/8”), it’ll cinch the overlapping ribs tight.
I used a similar lift to install sixteen 16’ steel panels on a 12’ 6” high workshop ceiling this past week! My wife and I did most of it ourselves, I’m 70 years old! Without it the job would have been nearly impossible! Other than lifting the panels up onto the lift, I could have done it alone. I had to built an extension rack to add about 18” of height because the lift came up a little short!

What style metal did you use on your ceiling, PBR etc. ?
@@pete7894 I called my local lumber yard and ordered it. They said that there is a special material some people use but I believe I used regular roof metal, whatever the standard gauge is. It worked out great because no extra framing was necessary to span the 4’ between the trusses. Be careful and measure carefully or chalk line so your screws don’t miss the truss. I eyeballed them and missed a couple times!

Hey, Just what I needed. I have been dragging my feet about getting a lift as I didn’t want to buy something that didn’t hold up or be difficult to operate by myself. I liked this one. The chain is what did it for me! I like how you improvised to accommodate the longer steel. After I complete the sheet rock job in my house I can tackle a ceiling in my barn. Yeah, those platforms are great for fastening the ceilings. I have one and it was so helpful putting up ceiling planks. I was not about to work off a ladder! Hey, are those power snippers attachable to different brand tools? I have Milwaukee tools. Thanks a lot
This chain driven lift is really nice! I would highly recommend it. Yes, those powers snippers that you were talking about Will attached to most tools. I think it’s engineered mainly for the Dewalt but I got it to attach to my Ridgid. I hope that helps!
Sorry, let me ask a little bit. What is the function of brown paper or cloth and is between the wood on the roof? Your work tools are complete enough to make your 👍 work easier

Good video! I am at the stage in my new shop where I'm almost ready to install metal similar to what you have done. The difference is that my trusses are on 4-foot centre's instead of 2 foot. I plan to buy what is referred to as tough-rib (reasonably sturdy ribs but only the cheaper 29 gauge and not 22 gauge) panels in the hopes I won't have to strap the ceiling with 2 x 4s first. Here's my question to you and your readers: Do you think the metal ceiling will sag and look stupid if I am only able to screw the metal every 4 feet?
Couldn’t you flip the panel over after the pilot hole and cutting through the ribs and use the same pilot to finish cutting the hole?
And what is the max height of the lift.

I would have laid the recessed lights out so they want on the ridges of the metal. The can time would look better.

How thick were the panels?
I’m new to this and have learned a lot, but why didn’t you use a vapor barrier?
I looked up the price for the Panellift - model 439 - you are using in this video and at Lowes it is priced at 1660.38 and at Home Depot it is priced a little cheaper at 1299.99. Still expensive for what it does. Two people should have no problem lifting and installing metal panels the size you are installing without using a lift. I installed metal panels on my house by myself on my own without any problems other than the metal panels being bulky. Also, where is your vapor barrier between the metal panels and wood joists ? I would be afraid of mold and/or wood rot from condensation you can get with metal without it. Finally, where did you buy the metal panels from ? Thanks.
Why have paper backed insulation if you aren’t going to use it properly?
Maybe I missed it but I was wondering why you insulated the roof part of the outdoor kitchen area. Was there a reason that I am missing? I wouldn’t think the insulation would be helping anything with the three sides being open. Thanks for another video. Great job as always.
Thank you. Good question! I have finished space above the outdoor kitchen. I could have saved some insulation and just insulated the 12 foot section in the middle, but my insulator recommended going from outside wall outside wall. I hope that helps!

Why not trim screws? Wouldn’t those nails risk coming out over time
I have not had an issue with that. Trim screw protrude down so if you use those, keep that in mind. Thanks for watching!
