Great review guys, I really dig that guitar& combo. The mid-boost feature only works on the top channel though, not the bottom channel, it’s a regular mid control on the bottom channel.
+LoudonGuitar - The MkV:35 will punch and them some! A couple of the guys here are using them as part of their gig rig & they have nothing but praise for them. They also have a Cab Clone built into them, so you can go directly into the PA too. Hope this has helped Murdoch
it will get through,,trust me...my drummer is loud as hell and hits the skins hard..my bassist has tremendous cut and this 35 watt fits the bill just fine,,,,i play rock and metal,,and use the clean channel a great deal for the Funky stuff we do...lion-hearted.us.org..check us out
couldn't help notice but you didn't have the eq controls set at 12 o clock at all ... just an observation, why not just include the changes and due a proper revue?
You can throw it down to 10watts and it's really good. You won't get the punch at the full 35watt but this amp kicks ass !! Get a 1x12 for the bedroom and 2x12 cab for everything else. Enjoy
Question... If V35 were compared with V25, in 10 and 25 watts, will be the same sound, tone, headroom, etc... it feels like losing tone compared to V25.
Allan Ardon Because the 5:35 has a bigger output transformer than that of the 5:25, the 25-watt and 10-watt settings will be warmer and bigger than those settings on the 5:25.
Allan Ardon According to the official Mesa product video (as well as my heavy research), the 5:25 and 5:35 are identical in every way, with the exception that the 5:35 adds the solo controls, the "Vintage" mode on the built-in Cab Clone, two more EL84 output tubes, and a larger output transformer, as well as a long spring reverb tank (as opposed to the short spring tank in the 5:25). Apparently the 10 and 25 watt settings on the 5:35 sounds better than the 5:25 because of the larger output transformer. All in all a better amp.
I try really hard to like it but. Having that dialed in Mkiii purple stripe sitting in the next room. Mesa needs to start making that quality of amp again. There really is no comparison. Maybe they just CAN'T do it anymore.
@@aaronshortmusic Its been like it since I bought it... its a real problem... Im having teh tubes changed this week...I did try another one a 25 watt version, and that was the same... lots fo people say that its normal...i say un usable...LIVE. does yours thud.?
Great demo thanks guys and some nice DT riffs thrown in. I just bought this head...arrives in 2 days!
Better than Triple Crown?
DT?
Dream Theater
My first thought was Derek Trucks. Thanks.
Sounds good! And the Suhr looks stunning
Great tones and playing! Finally someone who dials the boogie in correctly!

Awesome and quality demo, gents!
Dream rig, sounds absolutely sick with the 2 12..
How good do the pickups sound on the Suhr, wow..
what you're hearing is just how good this amp is :)
Good demo guys, does the combo still weigh 20 plus kilos?
Thanks Colin! Weighs just about smack bang on 20kg.
How much in American pounds?
@@DSilverguna kilo is 2.2 pounds
Really struggling with picking one of these up. Sounds great but concerned it won't punch through a full band. Anyone able to confirm?

I use it for gigging, I never get it even half way up! It rocks
Beautiful Suhr by the way...

What would the amp be like at bedroom volumes?
You can throw it down to 10watts and it's really good. You won't get the punch at the full 35watt but this amp kicks ass !! Get a 1x12 for the bedroom and 2x12 cab for everything else. Enjoy
Not to be a buzz kill, but it really sounds thin to me. Beautiful guitar tho and thanks for your video
I bought this amp rig, really good....love it.
Being one of the best amp I'm surprised U not get a kick ass play to demo
would you guys recomend that one or the 25w version for home practicing/studio
Anthony S. Is the cabclone a good feature?? I've read a lot of bad comments about it.
Maybe Mesa could bring out a Mk5-45 later in the year and a Mk5-55 next year.
dont forget the Mk5-90 !
hah funny.
I am waiting for the Mark VI 6-66 :)
by the way, does that Suhr have the SSH+ or the Aldrich..need to know...
Hey Rockero 44 - The guitar is a Modern Pro so is an SSH+. Cheers, Murdoch

Terrific playing Daniel. Great tone on all modes!! Very well done

Nice thud when changing channels..mine does that and makes it un usable in a live situation >?>>
Keep the wattages the same on both channels and it won’t happen.
@@aaronshortmusic mine does...with matched and un matched wattages..
rob reed Does it make any other strange noises? Maybe it has a tube issue?

rob reed If the wattage is set the same then no
Thats a nice suhr.
Tube screamer ruined the amps tone.
turn up the mids!
The sound, especially in IIc+ mode still has plenty mids as far as I can hear
Kudos to the Indian kid for picking a really good guitar to try this out!
dont ever play that europe tune again
Harsh distortion, almost like a solid state amp. Not for me.
Settings are just horrible
Why would they bastardize this with the likes of a cabclone?! Waste of money.
When I hear you pronounce it Mess-ah I move on, It’s May-suh boogie. If you can’t do the name justice don’t bother.
