    Honestly I was not a fan of the Boz but I am touched by the man Brian Bosworth. It is motivating to see people triumph within the human experience.
    Brian should hold his head up high for his accomplishments. This man was not a failure and in the end appears to have figured out the most important parts of life.

    I was playing high school football when the BOZ was at his peak, he was definitely kicking some ass in those days. I really wanted him to succeed in Seattle but no matter how big the heart or fire when the body says no more it means no more.

      Yeah bro, I can't believe you said that... No way does he need to apologize, they need to apologize to him. He made the university 49 mil. In four months. What he said about the NCAA is true. They prostitute the players and get all the money as the players get nothing in return. Not even a free education. They have to work and earn that. Brian the boz. 55 ;)

    I'm from a small town about 100 miles southwest of Seattle . In the 80's I don't think a team like the Seahawks were ready for " The Boz " . We had Largent and he was quiet and polite . The Seahawks hadn't grown into our bad boy stage yet . We didn't hit that stride until several years later . Now if The Boz would have been a member of the Legion Of Boom in his prime that would of been something .

    Brian Bosworth was not an NFL bust injury-shortened his career

  • @stevehall7479
    @stevehall7479 10 лет назад +23

    Brian Bosworth was not a bust. Todd Marinivich was a bust. Marinivich chose drugs and partying over the NFL. Bosworth always loved football and his injuries ended his career. Of course as a natural doctor I know that steroids destroy joints in the long term, and his MD was prescribing him steroids for his shoulder injury which masked the pain and made him more invinceable as a side effect and make a borderline jerk a real a$$hole but eventually worsened his shoulder condition and ended a potentially rewarding career in the NFL. I just love the one video clip of Brian getting knocked back by Bo Jackson and that's the one everyone hangs their hat on "a bust" Guess what he made the tackle (too high which was one of his bad habits) and no one was stopping Bo Jackson in those days. I see 45 million contract LB's in the NFL today that totally whiff on tackles to mediocre running backs. If you watch that clip you will see how he breaks down and gets ready to make impact instead of flying in out of control like they do in the NFL today. If Bosworth could have played with healthy shoulders he would have made Brian Urlacher look like he was in slow motion.

    • @bobkidd1054
      @bobkidd1054 10 лет назад +3

      Definitely not a bust. The doctor that gave him all the steroids for his shoulder cost him an NFL career. He was the best LB to come out of college in the 1980s. Had his shoulders not been irreparably damaged by his 3rd year in the league, he would have been a hall of famer.

    I was glad to see him stand up at the Sooner Legends get together and apologize for those transactions in front of all those legendary players. Took real guts to do that. That humbleness brought closure, and got his picture back up of the wall of legends in the Switzer center museum.

    For whatever its worth or if anyone even care, Bosworth gets a bad rap. He was a VERY good player. He just suffered from injuries and continued to play doing nothing about it for a long while. He was very talented player that got taken out of the game before his time.....

    I remember him, grew up loving football. He should have had surgery sooner. Love the Boz. He played his ass off.

    How is it possible for a young kid to deal with all of this. His manager/agent and all his handlers road this kid til they couldn't anymore. Bos is the greatest college lineman of all time. Well him and lt

    Luck guy almost destroyed the best thing in his life. His relationship with his wife. What a special lady. After watching this, I have a new respect for Brian, but as a Denver Broncos fan, I despised " The Boz". Glad he found God and his family.

    As happens so often, there are usually "handlers" behind the scenes pulling the strings. In this case, Bozworth's agent is IMO, the one who drove the Boz persona and told him, if you do what I say, you'll be the biggest, richest star in the world. That guy had Bosworth living in a fantasy world. "Oh, he can play in the NFL for 5 or 7 years and then become a movie star, bla, bla, bla.

    What ended his career was the tough guy mentality. The entire 'eat the pain' mentality is what did him in. I guarantee 100% that he was hurt a thousand times and never told anyone. Injury after injury and he never told anyone and never got treatment. That's what got him.

    I grew up watching Stone Cold, never knew he was such a great player on the field tho. His career was cut short before I really got into keeping up with sports and players. Wish I could had witness him play, especially being that I played the linebacker position in HS.

    What makes a "star" is the team he plays on. Football is a team game like nothing else. Once your supporting cast is gone, your star will often fall.

    Brian Bosworth had the personality of a professional wrestler at a time before there was the wrestler Sting (Steve Borden) then Brock Lesnar later on. Brian Bosworth set the path for these personalities

Haven't you ever had the same thing happen to you? Where something you heard was found to be quite easily relatable to you or something you were enduring or experienced? Has nothing ever reached you on such a personal level before? I'm just curious
