My Bo story. I was in Newark, trying to get to Portland OR. Only flight open was to SFO, first class. So I paid the extra $$, and lo and behold, Bo sat next to me. There are a few highlights that make him look like he was some sort of great player. He was not. Look how powerful he is he broke the bat over his knee & again over his helmet. Guess what he struck out those times. But got positive publicity for striking out. Those players you mentioned actually accomplished stuff in a good solid long career. Those guys also were big/clutch in post season. Bo Jackson BA .230 No Hr's No RBI's but did manage to strike out 50% of his AB's
Back in those days Bo was everywhere. Baseball season, football season, nike ads on tv, radio. Everybody had his jersey or nike apparel. Must have been a great ride while it lasted. Had it been these days. Bo would have a billion dollar contract.

@@tommymc7535 Wilt Chamberlain made the Hall of Fame in 2 pro sports. Basketball and Volleyball. Bob Hayes won a gold medal and was an all pro and Hall of famer in track and football. Jim Thorpe was a 2 time Olympic Champion, a World Champion, an all pro and a Hall of famer. All of those are on the highest levels in those sports. Bo made the pro bowl and the MLB all star game (which is just a popularity contest). So again tell me how no one did what he did in 2 sports.
What makes him great is who he played against. Look at the other teams player's from College to NFL and Baseball. He stood out a mug the best for short time in both sports.
You know, I really miss watching him play sports, especially Football and Baseball, he's the BEAST that ate the beast, I mean he was unstoppable, and nobody wanted to be in front of Bo in football, because if you were, then he's mowing your ass down, no questions asked! Lmao. I wonder what he's doing today. I miss Bo!
I grew up with the "Bo knows" billboards and watched him ay baseball and football. He reminds me of an early American Indian Jim Thorpe who was a pro football, pro baseball and Olympic Champion in the decathlon and the pentathlon in 1912. He was the greatest athlete the world had ever seen and they say he rarely trained.
Jim Thorpe is the greatest athlete ever! Two Olympic gold medals in 1912 in the Decathalon and Pentathalon, setting world records in the process, NFL HOF and played until he was 40 when guys played both offense and defense, six years in Major League Baseball, at least two years of professional basketball, and in 1913 was offered a contract to play professional hockey in Toronto.
AiyaYa! I was born in July 84 and live in Alabama and always have and growing up I’m a hardcore Bama fan but Bo Jackson being that I started watch around 1990 and Bo was just a legend that was one of those like me being a hardcore Bama’r I still loved Bo. There just ain’t never gonna be another player like him or MJ or Herschel Walker maybe Barry Sanders too. But all these people played at the same time! So growing up in that era was like being a Bama fan.. just the greatest time in sports to grow up. But I tell you something else.. u know who else was mythical like them athletes at the same time and ironically was connected to one of those people! Oh wait I forgot about Mike Tyson all these people were going on at the same time! My goodness anyway so this other guy had a serious major connection with 2 of that group (Mike Tyson and Herschel Walker) Donald Trump! Was making his bones at the same time was a legend just like those guys even to kids at the bus stop. Just incredible!
What I see the most runs deeper than ability. It's the fact that he grew into a fine man. Ever hear of him getting into trouble with a scandal, drugs, run in with the law, or domestic abuse, etc.? Not once!! He's got my vote and he's most definitely a role model which kids today are lacking but need so badly.
There was nobody like him or since him! It blows your mind to think what could have been if not for that dreaded injury! He would have been the greatest athlete the world had ever seen or will ever see! Doesn’t even seem possible that a human can be that great at any sport! PERIOD! The day he got injured was shocking. Just hard to imagine the NFL or even the Royals without him! 💔
If doctors had the skills and modern equipment they could have diagnosed his injury correctly and save his hip. But they didn't figure it out til it was too late. He could have been in baseball hall and nfl hall first ballot
I was watching an interview one time with a guy that played with him in college, he said Bo did not even practice, he could just show up on game day and produce.
My neighbor RUSS played on the Royals with him and said he was the best teammate you could ever ask for. I figured he was very arrogant but RUSS swore he was just the opposite in every way. I live in Kansas City and watched him play baseball. I hate the Raiders since I’m a diehard Chiefs. I would watch Raiders football to see Bo instead of my beloved Chiefs. Bo was the REAL GOAT! However, we now have a spectacle to watch in Kansas City! There’s no place like Mahomes!
JimBrown is the only athlete that was close in my lifetime as he is considered the greatest running back and was also an all America. Lacrosse player but Bo did more and even after his hip injury came back to MLB. BO is now a masterful Archer and I am sure would be great at anything not limited by his hip injury. I only wish I could meet and talk to him. He is a great inspiration.
Man this inspires the fuck out of me me and Bo Jackson share the same Great Grandfather I never got to meet that side of my family I really wish I could get in touch with them
If there ever was a person on earth who was a better all around athlete, my name is Elmer Fudd. Too add to everything else said he could throw a baseball 300 ft on a line. BEST ARM I've ever seen. Half because he did not run track on the pro level after college. 3. Jim Thorpe 2x Olympic gold medalist; decathlon 10 events, and pentathlon 5 events. Also competed in the individual Olympic high jump (4th place) and the long jump (7th place). He then won the World All around athletic competition, Then played NFL football and had an HOF career. Then played Major League Baseball, after that he played Pro Basketball too! That is 4 sports at the highest level. Twice as many as Bo. So Mr. Fudd, What say you?

@@EricKearneyMusic LMAO!! I am beginning to think you are a Bo Fanboy. We'll see. You actually believe Bo ran a legit 4.1 40?!? Lol. That 40 time is total BS. Bo's times at other distances do not point to him being that quick. His 10.44 100m or his 6.18 55m both WA verified and his documented 4.1 hand timed 30yd dash from home to 1st base during a baseball workout. The 100m is not even in the top 70 fastest by NFL players. The 55m (not a popular distance and only 60.15yds) is slower than: James Jett 6.12 Herschel Walker 6.11 Curtis Dickey 6.10 Rocket Ismail 6.07 Ron Brown 6.07 Sam Graddy 6.03 None of these men have 4.13 40 times. But you believe that Bo would be ahead of them at the 40yd mark only to be passed and destroyed by a wide margin in only the next 20yds. The 4.1 30yd dash makes it humanly IMPOSSIBLE to cover the last 10yds in 0.02 seconds. LMAO!! Show me where he could throw a baseball 100m per hour. Why only count 5 sports? Wilt Chamberlain was an all-star in pro Basketball and pro Volleyball. In fact he made both HOF's. Bo did not have the required carries to even be counted in the books for avg yds per carry. In your mind Bo's physical ability far surpasses everyone. I gave you 3 guys who's athletic resumes are greater than Bo's yet you call it garbage. Lol! That is the response of a fanboy who doesn't deal in reality. As far as Bo being the fastest team sports player Just stop it. The NFL has had 2 former WORLD'S FASTEST HUMANS play in the league. So you can just sit down with that super crap. There have been plenty of players who could run over larger men. Lol. Wilt was not slow. You obviously don't know much about Wilt. Wilt beat Jim Brown in a foot race. Wilt ran 49 seconds in the 440yd dash in hi top sneakers. Wilt and Herschel both threw the shot put farther than Bo. Again Walker himself was faster than Bo. I have already posted their verified times. You are going to have to show proof of the car jumping crap. Your reply will show if you are indeed a fanboy or not.
Bo Jackson was the greatest athlete ever. Period. The best two sport athlete though has to be Deion Sanders. He's a football hall of famer and the only man to appear in the world series and the Superbowl. Bo never should have played football unless it was on defense. Those big hits cost the world the most electrifying athlete of all time.
I love watching this guy. Growing up in the UK during the 80s we had access to the NFL but only saw rare highlights of his baseball exploits and none of his college career. Even so we were well aware of his incredible abilities. Most of my sports heroes played rugby, cricket or soccer but after seeing Bo play once for the raiders (Im a 49ers fan) it was obvious he was special. I'd never seen anyone like him in any sport. Wish I could have seen him play live.
...Just because someone plays in the world series doesn't make him great. He was a mediocre baseball player at best. Even Deion admitted Bo was a better all around athlete on national TV. In football he was a great defensive back as far as preventing or intercepting passes, but was chickenshit as a tackler.
Fun Fact “$” The BO KNOWS campaign came about in a legendary way as well. What Nike did , Spike Lee was doing the MJ air Jordan commercials and they asked Spike to talk to Bo and help them come up with an equivalent to “Air” his highness Jordan. Spike came back to the guys and said this guy doesn’t have much to say. They said so what d’you got Spike we need something . Spike said I don’t know . They said what ! ? Spike said I don’t know ? Bo Knows. Legendary

I have often maintained the two greatest athletes were Jim Thorpe and Bo Jackson and by no coincidence, this video mentioned Jim Thorpe just right before the 4:00 minute mark.
Yes, no argument there, but then again, everyone forgets about Jim Brown, his football is obviously never forgotten, but he's also in the National LaCrosse Hall of Fame
1. Thorpe HOF pro football, baseball and basketball, Two time Olympic gold medalist in the multi events 2. Herschel Walker pro football pro bowl, pro MMA fighter, Olympic bobsledder, world class sprinter 3. Wilt Chamberlain GOAT HOF basketball, HOF pro volleyball 4. Jim Brown pro football hof, lacrosse hof 5. Bo pro football pro bowl, baseball all star 6. Deion Sanders pro football HOF, pro baseball
Not saying he was BO but one of the most underrated 2 sport athletes of all time is Kirk Gibson. Everybody remembers him for that famous HR off Eckersley in the World Series but he was a lot more than that. He was obviously a great baseball player leading multiple teams to championships, being a perennial All Star and winning an MVP. But what is lesser known is just how great he was at football. He is in the college football Hall of Fame, and according to many NFL evaluators would have been the number 1 pick in the NFL Draft if he chose to enter. Those same evaluators clocked him running a 40 at 4.28 seconds. Gibson was also a relatively large guy too being 6'4 235. Guys that size don't usually run times like that. Again not saying he was Bo, but it's a shame that his athletic greatness isn't talked about more. He was legit one of the best pure athletes of the last 40 or 50 years. Just a genetic freak that had speed, power and heart and determination(as evident of hitting that famous HR off one leg).
He played before the marketing era for sportsman: commercials, channels, pay per view, nike, shoes, big contracts, hip hop and black music, culture, etc. ... Bo came arrived almost right on time and his injury made Nike focused on Jordan. Now Jordan is this and that, marketing narratives altered the facts nd true history.
I really wish Bo would've stuck to baseball. He'd have stolen 1,000 bases and hit 600 home runs for sure. So incredibly strong and fast. The thing about Bo that no one talks about is his arm strength. Best arm I've ever seen.
Whether he donned a football or a baseball helmet? Bo just knew! Bo is in fact the greatest athlete ever. I'll even go as far as to say that Michael Jordan is the Bo Jackson of basketball!!
3:44 This is the correct answer. Jackson was my generation's superhero, but not enough people remember Thorpe, and how much he dominated everything he touched. Both can be true at the same time
Marcus Allen: "From the first 20 yards I don't know if there is anyone who is as fast as he is." He's talking about a 230 pound, 6'1" man. From what I saw of Bo on the football field I agree. I watched him all the time in many games on TV and not only was he extremely difficult to take down much like Larry Csonka, he was impossible to catch once he had an inch on the defense and he would just turn on his after burners and run into the end zone and this is from anywhere on the football field whether it be the 1 yd line or the 99 yd line. Once he got ahead of you I don't understand why anyone even tried to catch him, he was un-catchable. The guy was a freak of nature. The only other athlete I can think of who compares to and is probably better than Bo as far as athletic ability goes is Wilt Chamberlain.
I Just remember watching that first quick pitch to Bo that the Raiders ran and he of course turned the corner faster than anyone I had ever seen. I stood up and said "Oh my God!"
@@dazdealz4648 I have seen him play and run at Auburn, and I've seen all 38 of his NFL games. @@sydboski Herschel wasn't as fast as Bo nor was he anywhere as gifted. Never saw Hershel hit a 500 ft HR before. Herschel played for my eagles and he was an overall bust. If Bo Never got hurt he would've smashed Herschel and everyone knows it.
Herschel indeed was faster than Bo. Bo's best 100m dash is 10.44 vs Walker's 10.23. Also the 55m Bo 6.18 to Walker's 6.11. There is no doubt Walker was faster than Bo. Gifted? Both were gifted with athleticism, Bo just was not as rounded as Walker. No you never saw Walker hit a HR, but you never saw Bo in the winter Olympics or fighting in a Pro MMA match or earning a 5th degree black belt. Bust?!? I think not. You cannot call a player a bust that has: 1954 carries, 8225 yards (including 1070yds for the Eagles in 1992) 61 tds and a 4.2 avg per run, in 13 years. Wait I'm not done. Walker also has: 215 kr for 5084 yds and 2 tds. Also somethimg Bo did not do. And those are just his NFL stats. Many people forget Walker played 3 seasons in the USFL a rival of the NFL in the early 1980's. Walker ran for 5562 yds on 1143 carries 54tds and a 4.9 avg. So Walker's pro football stats are: 3097 rushes for 13,787 yds 115 tds and had an avg of 4.6 per carry. Bust? Lol I think not.

Needs to be in HOF for football and baseball.
Without a doubt the greatest athlete I have ever seen. I grew up in the 80's. Simply amazing.

Wilt Chamberlain was 7'1" 300 lbs, ran a 4.6 40 yard dash, had a 44-inch vertical leap, bench pressed 600 lbs and high-jumped 6'6" ... scored 100 points in an NBA game, averaged 50 points and 30 rebounds in one season, had 55 rebounds in one game against the great Bill Russell and the Celtics, lead the league assists oneyear just to prove a point. Michael Jordan had 31-50 point games in his career ~ WILT had 45 50-point games in one season... Wilt retired w 91 NBA all-time records and 50 years later still has 61 records most of which will never be equalled. Wilt is the only person to make the HOF in 3 sports ~ NBA, Volleyball and Track & Field. Arnold Schwarzenegger has said Wilt is the strongest man he's ever seen who could literally pick Arnold up with one hand. WILT CHAMBERLAIN IS THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF RECORD / IN WORLD HISTORY!!!
I consider myself lucky to have seen him play.
I'm happy i'm old enough to have seen Bo Jackson play in his prime. He is the truely G.O.A.T
In his prime. No rb. Faster had he not gotten injured ......
Me too......😀

BO was an amazing man. The drive and determination was legendary. But the size, speed, power and GOD given ability are unrivaled. Rumor has it he has a small indentation on the back of his head. They say that's where GOD took his finger and pushed his soul into the world.
I was a good athlete
Then there’s exceptional athletes
Then there’s extraordinary athletes
Then there’s super athletes
Then there’s Bo !
They will be no one else like this man he was a beast
Quagmire saying over and over again, "That's not fair! Bo Jackson is too fast" is too funny! 😂
Im gonna win and now im gonna jump BO JACKSON!! 😂
The Greatest athlete of my lifetime , seen him play for the Raiders had his jersey back in them days
Bo was the most exciting athlete I've ever seen, and I'm old! 🤣
One thing is for absolute certain, there will never be another 2 sport athlete like Bo Jackson
Best 2 Sports Athlete of The modern era 🏈⚾️
THE G.O.A.T! There is no “what if”. Bo is the greatest of all time! If not, why are we still talking about him? Why are we still mesmerized by his accomplishments? Simply because He Is The Greatest! EVER!!!
Greatest what?
@@sydboski 2 sport athlete for sure… no one did what he did in 2 sports.
@@sydboski Bo was never an all star in football and baseball?? I was under the misconception he was.
@@tommymc7535 Who said he wasn't? I commented that Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Hayes and Jim Thorpe eclipsed just making all-star in two sports.
BEST OF ALL-TIME!!!
Bo is simply the Babe Ruth of our time im so happy I was able to witness greatness we'll always cherish Bo as an athlete and human being
Absolutely not! Ruth couldn't hold Bo's jock strap. Ruth was a man amongst boys, but Bo was a God!
What makes him great is who he played against. Look at the other teams player's from College to NFL and Baseball. He stood out a mug the best for short time in both sports.
I agree, the best two sport athlete ever, and what a shame his career ended so early.
I'm guessing that doesn't include 3 sport or 4 sport athletes.
Wow what an athlete. God sure blessed him with all could be.
I miss Bo!
Men can piss their name in snow... Bo could piss his name in concrete!!
I thank the Lord that I got to see BO. The Greatest of all-time.
God giveth & God taketh away.
He gave us a glimpse of greatness but couldn't let it last otherwise all of the records would be only 1 name.
I love the way he would just snap those twigs! what do you say? Those are baseball bats? WOWZERS!
Too bad black athletes weren’t allowed to complete back then…
My goodness anyway so this other guy had a serious major connection with 2 of that group (Mike Tyson and Herschel Walker)
Donald Trump! Was making his bones at the same time was a legend just like those guys even to kids at the bus stop. Just incredible!
This man was a FREAK OF NATURE
The power of a raging bull and the speed of a diving falcon is forever unstoppable.
Unstoppable force porcupine
Multiplied quintrillion
Immovable object. Armadillo
He was an average baseball player.
bo is in a class by himself best athlete of all time
How?
Bo jackson is with out a doubt the greatest athlete ever yes I said the greatest athlete I have ever seen with unreal natural talent
I was watching an interview one time with a guy that played with him in college, he said Bo did not even practice, he could just show up on game day and produce.
Forget Michael Jordan give me Bo Jackson
My neighbor RUSS played on the Royals with him and said he was the best teammate you could ever ask for. I figured he was very arrogant but RUSS swore he was just the opposite in every way. I live in Kansas City and watched him play baseball. I hate the Raiders since I’m a diehard Chiefs. I would watch Raiders football to see Bo instead of my beloved Chiefs.
Bo was the REAL GOAT! However, we now have a spectacle to watch in Kansas City! There’s no place like Mahomes!
Have you ever tried to bust a bat over your knee yet alone your head …….it is impossible…..his strength was super human!
Seeing the immense speed & accuracy of his throw he would have prolly made a great Pitcher as well as being a top tier Batter & Footballer 💪
One of the Top 10 greatest athletes in the history of sports
(Proper title)☺️
Bo Is my favorite player. He wad crazy skills.
I guess you don't know Wilt Chamberlain or Herschel Walker?
Man this inspires the fuck out of me me and Bo Jackson share the same Great Grandfather I never got to meet that side of my family I really wish I could get in touch with them
It doesn't get any better than that period.
If there ever was a person on earth who was a better all around athlete, my name is Elmer Fudd. Too add to everything else said he could throw a baseball 300 ft on a line. BEST ARM I've ever seen. I've NEVER seen ANYONE other than him throw someone out at home from the warning track with NO cutoff. No bounce. In the air.
Hey Elmer!
1. Wilton Norman Chamberlain NBA HOF GOAT, Pro Volleyball HOF. 2 sports at the highest level.
2. Herschel Walker Pro Football All start in 2 pro leagues, Played HB, FB, and KR, Was an Olympic Bobsledder (9th in the world), A pro MMA fighter with a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo, and was a world class sprinter (yes faster than Bo 10.23 to 10.44 100m). 3.5 sports at the highest level.
@@sydboski Garbage...regardless of sport Bo Jackson was the best Athlete ever. EVER. 6'1" 230 - Fastest 40 time in NFL history 4.1 seconds. Track record. Could throw a baseball 100mph. Could hit a baseball 500ft. ONLY american athlete to be an All-Star in two sports (baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer) in ONE YEAR. Most yards per carry in NFL history for those with 500 carries. He was so fast he once walked on a wall 4 steps!! His physical ability far surpasses anyone ever born.
Wilt was slow as molasses. Height doesnt equate to physical ability. Bo was faster than ANYBODY that ever played team sports. Off the charts strength. He could run over men much larger than he. He could jump over two cars parked side by side. The biggest freak of nature ever born.
The 55m (not a popular distance and only 60.15yds) is slower than:
James Jett 6.12
Herschel Walker 6.11
Curtis Dickey 6.10
Rocket Ismail 6.07
Ron Brown 6.07
Sam Graddy 6.03
None of these men have 4.13 40 times.
I understand Bo Jackson; I played sandlot softball, flag football, and intramural basketball!, yeah!
People are bouncing off of him while running like he's the juggernaut once he's moving you can't stop him
*My brother the Kansas City Silver Bullet as i called Him The Royal Raider*
I had those shoes in the black and Grey
A P same here, 🔥.
We don't mention this man enough!!
Bo Knows. Legendary

I would of loved to see him box. As good as his vision, hands, feet and strength was, he would of been a natural.
I have often maintained the two greatest athletes were Jim Thorpe and Bo Jackson and by no coincidence, this video mentioned Jim Thorpe just right before the 4:00 minute mark.
Wilt Chamberlain and Herschel Walker need to be mentioned.
Jim Thorpe the most overrated athlete of all time. Look when he was relevant
Bo Jackson is great but Jim Thorpe name has to be included in the conversation for greatest multi-sport athlete.
Yes, no argument there, but then again, everyone forgets about Jim Brown, his football is obviously never forgotten, but he's also in the National LaCrosse Hall of Fame
1. Thorpe HOF pro football, baseball and basketball, Two time Olympic gold medalist in the multi events
2. Herschel Walker pro football pro bowl, pro MMA fighter, Olympic bobsledder, world class sprinter
3. Wilt Chamberlain GOAT HOF basketball, HOF pro volleyball
4. Jim Brown pro football hof, lacrosse hof
5. Bo pro football pro bowl, baseball all star
Excellent
Should be in the hall of fame FB and BB the small sample shoes it.
Both can be true at the same time
Bo at Auburn, Chuck Long from Iowa the closest Heisman Trophy voting at that time. Bo won it. Bo was awesome. But, im an Iowa fan.
If only those two shared the duties equally.
I Just remember watching that first quick pitch to Bo that the Raiders ran and he of course turned the corner faster than anyone I had ever seen. I stood up and said "Oh my God!"
Bo is the greatest athlete of the century!
He is still the greatest athlete of all time!
How?
@@sydboski If you ever seen him play and you wouldn't ask that question
