Benjamin Franklin was the man who whenever he spoke you kept quiet and listened. He really was that important as a scientist, poet, speaker, founding father, diplomat, ambassador, etc. Along with Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin was really important. Without him and the founding fathers this country especially this constitution is not made.
This was such a wonderful documentary. I never realized how much Franklin contributed to our winning the Revolutionary War. Thanks to the gods of fate which gave us Benjamin Franklin! Take Franklin out of all the years he spent in France and we would almost certainly have lost the war. I cried for joy at the end and thanked the gods of fate again for giving us Ben Franklin.

The negative comments are hilarious! They have nothing to do with Benjamin Franklin really and everything to do with the sad lives of the commentators. 😂 As for the documentary itself it only seems dated because it dwells on Franklin's accomplishments, his work ethic, and the range of his intellectual abilities. Our Mexican war will be a topic of crimination and recrimination for years to come, it has sown our soil with dragons teeth, and in time will spring up armed men. And what is most to be concluded, not only was it unjustified and unconstitutional, but it was neither a profitable business enterprise or expenditure either, for we now pay Mexico, pay for the territory, and also pay the claimants, it was to put it in the wise words of the American philosopher, Benjamin Franklin, “Paying too dearly for the whistle” -from the book, “The War With Mexico Reviewed” by Abiel Livermore
Franklin is my favorite American by far. But I think historians make a mistake when they try to present him as a enthusiastic capitalist.
