The History of Benjamin Franklin and his effort to get support trom France reminds me ot President Zelenkyy's effort to get aid in his fight aganst Putin's Imperial Russia. Both Franklin and Zelenskyy are truly heroes. In addition, I think the State of Pennsylvania should be renamed, I recommend Franksylvania.
I suggest watching Apple show Franklin where Kirk Douglas plays him. It's set in France Ben is helping score weapons fron the French and his Grandson is a character to.underrated show. Apple also has another show Manhunt about Lincoln assination and very good too..good theme song fwiw
You seem to like to use the word "fatal" in your video headlines a lot. Are you sure you know what it means? If so, how often does a person need to be dealt "fatal blows" until they actually succumb to their injuries? While I despise Trump with every fiber of my being, I try not to fall into the delusion that he is someone to be dismissed or who lacks resilience. Just ask Hilary Clinton how underestimating him went for her. I agree with basically all of your analysis of Trump, but I really dislike Clickbait, as it insults my intelligence. It's one thing to think Trump is a buffoon, but is it really necessary to market your content as if your audience are fools as well? As to whether Harris should debate Trump again, the answer is clearly "Yes." Not only because she would undoubtedly win again, but because , despite the last debate attracting over 60 million viewers and that she has been the Vice President for the past 4 years, there are still millions of Americans who don't really know her story and what kind of leader she would be. Any opportunity to get her face in front of the wider public beyond those who already support her must be grasped.
Yes ! I'm British but Benjamin Franklin is one of my favourite characters from an era blessed with many fascinating characters. I'd love to have heard him go head to head with Dr Johnson....! Unfortunately King George iii mishandled the colonist's complaints ......and History took the path it did !!
Heck we be thankful for a benedict arnold. Someone that could unite people together again. They say colonist then HATED him.just to bad he got to escape England
52:45 I'm watching this as a thunderstorm passes through my neighborhood. There was a lightning strike outside my house and I wondered if it was lighting from the storm or from this video.
The negative comments are hilarious! They have nothing to do with Benjamin Franklin really and everything to do with the sad lives of the commentators. 😂 As for the documentary itself it only seems dated because it dwells on Franklin's accomplishments, his work ethic, and the range of his intellectual abilities. He was a polymath at a time when the sum of human knowledge was smaller and an individual gifted person could make substantial advances in multiple fields. But most of us lead placeholder lives - hence the desire to trash remarkable people.
3 hours? Almost 200 minutes? About one interesting dude who once owned slaves and never led a nation? With no photos, videos or audio recordings of him. And yes - I realize he did a lot of interesting things. But so did a lot of people in history. What's next? 7 hour documentary on Ivanka Trump? 14 hour documentary on George Steinbrenner? 35 hour documentary on Joe Biden's dog groomer? PBS is getting desperate. Nevertheless, thank you for posting it. ☮
That's how people think today for real. Even tho the bodies could of been put there after Franklin passed away they still think he is responsible for them lol. They also could of been redcoat bodies he had killed who knows who cares we have bigger issues in society then bodies in a house franklin also lived
And they told us lightning came down a kite string that he tied a key to, and we fell for that. Wow we are so sad, sad sad people we really believe some serious BS.😂😂😂😂😂😂

I'm I only one who watched 30 minutes of this and had to turn it off. Just constant fawning over the guy. He was so clever, popular, diligent, amazing, perfect.... 🤢🤮. That stuff is so boring. I want to hear about his flaws and vices because I'm sure he had some (like the rest of us) and that's way more interesting.
I SAID AT AGE 17 AS AN ADULT I WANTED TO TRAVEL TO EUROPE AND DO THE SAME THING AS BEN FRANKLIN...FUCK AND GET FUCKED BY HOES OF NO VIRTUE AND HOES OF EVEN LESS VIRTUE 😂 I WAS TOLD THAT MY GOAL WAS "VERY LIKELY"😅
Benjamin Franklin was a famous advocate of republicanism, the idea that a nation-state can rule itself from the consent of the governed for the benefit of the governed. Republicanism stands on four grounds - 1) Free, fair elections. Majority rule, minorities protected for peaceful transition of power 2) The checking and balancing of all organized selfish powers for inclusive compromise governance 3) The equal application of fair law and equitable economic policy for justice 4) The use of self-correcting evidence-based science, journalism and education for driving public policy, reporting corruption and truth. He knew, that these ideals could not be perfected all at once, but it would take evolution in the social consciousness of the people, so his words at the Constitutional Convention on what type of government the founders constructed were: "A republic if you can keep it".
I cant help it. Best opening to a documentry 😂😅😊
A truly wonderful, eye-opening documentary. Good work! Much obliged.
The irony of his family having come to America from England...?!? " And THIS is how you thank us ?!?!? " ..🇬🇧🇬🇧 😂😂
I look forward to any and all of the pictures from these very talented women who put this together. Love the dry humor 😊

Thomas Jefferson was a Great Leader and he authored the Declaration of Independence.
He didn't do it alone. Many drafts. Adams, Franklin proof read and changed important points✨🇺🇸✨
Ben franklin was supposedly a notorious buck and chuck. And they said disecting corpses.

Look up the dates of his presidency.
Public education cannot be this bad.

I suggest watching a Thomas Jefferson or a Daniel Boone documentary. Plenty of controversy there.
It's his intelligence and his ambition they gave this country its freedom❤
I'm kind of wondering why you would even start to watch this
@@p1dru2art I'm interested in history. It's just a naff documentary.
@@MikeWiggie-d2jHe does talk about his faults. I believe he wrote 2 bio.s They are very funny 😊

When the PC age hit the world I remember reading that if Franklin were alive he'd be one of the first to have a web site.
