    I'm blown away by the performance of this aircraft. On takeoff you just add the power and you're up to take off speed in no time. Its climb rate is incredible too. It's a nice piece of kit and well worth the money.

    Is push to talk button in the corner of the Panel?

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  6 лет назад +6

      Kshitiz Sigdel - Embraer has a push to talk button on both the yoke as well as up on the panel. For the pilot not flying, it is very nice to be able to rest your hand on the glare shield and use the push to talk button, and not have to follow the flying pilot’s control inputs on the yoke. Thank you for your question and for watching.

    Awesome. I have a question, why is the yoke pointed to the right during the takeoff run?

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  6 лет назад +3

      Mohammad - The yoke is turned into the crosswind to help with directional control. As the aircraft accelerates down the runway, I slowly take the correction out until at rotation the yoke is centered and control surfaces neutralized. Thank you for watching and for your question.

    Landing weight 600+lbs over, did y’all just burn a little extra fuel prior to landing?

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  3 года назад +1

      The 600+lbs over landing weight that the PNF (pilot not-flying) is referring to in our initial setup briefing is our current weight if we had to do an immediate emergency return to Savannah not our weight when we arrive at our destination. The speeds we programmed for landing are also those overweight landing speeds. All of that is done so that we are prepared for an emergency return when time is critical and the crew are under high stress and high workload. Thank you for watching and your question.

    6:18 Why is the steering wheel tilted to the right in a straight line?

    • @davidhoffman1278
      @davidhoffman1278 6 лет назад

      Ruben Barahona , cross wind.

    • @drewmitchell331
      @drewmitchell331 6 лет назад +2

      That is the yoke. On the ground aircraft are controlled by the rudder pedals used by the feet so the yoke has no play in aircraft steering. The yoke is tilted to the right for crosswind correction so the wind does not cause the aircraft to drift once at higher speeds.

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you for your question and for watching the video. We had a crosswind and thus it is proper to turn the yoke into the wind on departure.

    • @josephweir7211
      @josephweir7211 6 лет назад +1

      It is a yoke

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 6 лет назад +1

      Ruben Barahona "Why is the steering wheel tilted to the right in a straight line?"
      Others have already answered, but I'll give a longer answer. What you called a "steering wheel" is called a yoke, and some aircraft replace the yoke with a stick. The yoke or stick doesn't steer the aircraft when it's on the ground; that's done with the rudder pedals and/or the toe brakes. (On some large transport-category aircraft there may also be a knob down by the pilot's side called a nose-wheel steering control that turns the nose wheel left or right.) In the air, the rudder pedals control the direction the nose points, called the yaw. What the yoke or stick controls, when in the air, is the "tilt" of the aircraft to the left or right (called the bank angle) and the nose-up or nose-down angle (called the pitch attitude). The reason the pilot might turn the yoke to the right or left when on the ground is to move the ailerons on the wings to counteract a crosswind. (It puts a downward force on the upwind wing to keep that wing from lifting.)

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  6 лет назад

      Bombs Away - You are correct a lot of flying a modern aircraft is ensuring that the computers are doing as you want them to do. To answer your question, when the computers go down, and they do go down, then the pilot is left flying the aircraft. This particular plane was a lot of fun to fly, and I enjoy hand flying throughout the flight envelope.

    • @AircraftInsights
      @AircraftInsights  5 лет назад

      David - Thank you for your question. While the aircraft is single pilot certified, most insurance companies given the high hull value and performance, require dual pilot operation. You can get single pilot insurance coverage, however the premium is almost as much as a FO annual compensation.
