#Godox #Speedlight #TT685II
Thank you for a well made and lucid episode on these Godox lights.
I just want to say, huge thank you I am only just dipping into flash/speedlights so this video helped me a lot as the Godox TT685 II seems to be the main contender!
Yes Hubby and I love the V1 for its roundness, modelling light and the attachments. Sadly not used it much this year since I have been taking photos outside but you have just given me lots of ideas on situations I could use it!!!! Thanks.
😊 thank you!
Have both Godox Tt685c version 1 and Flashpoints Zoom, I myself take the TT685 with me more than my round head because the square head fits in my camera sling bag better when I travel light. A much needed improvement with the hot-shoe release and the interface. Definitely going with the upgrade. Thank you.
Cool Godox TT685 II Speedlight review. It does have a nice locking mechanism and nice brightness.
only 3 seconds in and i must say this is LIT BEAUTIFULLY KING. keep it up!
Thank you! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great review!
Thanks for a really clear review Ryan. I think I’ll go with the V1 since it was my original choice. So much for looking for a cheaper option 😀
Lol you can’t go wrong with the v1!
Thanks Ryan. Like I need another speedlight but.....now I want this. Great review.
😂😂😂😂 thanks bro!
This video have given a lot of info about the godox flash.. Thanks for sharing...
My pleasure
Godox/Flashpoint make great products. Those speed lights definitely do come in hand. I have a couple pb960 battery packs that I power mine with to eliminate the need to swap batteries. Great video as always.
Thanks Bro!
Nice review, thank you!
Thank you Sebastian!
I've been using 3 SB800s and an SB900 with the Pocket Wizard TT%/TT1 system. Well, I got a Nikon Z7ii and learned quickly that the TT5 system because unusable unless I wanted to spend $500 on a different controller. So, let's see, $500 to keep using my very old flashes, or $516 for 4, brand new TT685ii flashes. Yup, bought the new flashes and have now used them for 2 events, and I am very pleased with them.
My typical setup: 1 on camera bracket (Digital Pro-M from Custom Brackets with the Nikon SC-29 cable) set for TTL and 2 or 3 flashes on stands set at 1/4 power.
You make some very good points on the Number One version!!! I personally hate double A batteries BUT if you run out for forget you can find them at almost any store!!! The rechargeable one is like you said, you better have a couple - like you would your regular camera's battery. That little extra "focus light" on the One could be very handy for some. You did a great wrap-up on spending a little more to begin with for a longer lasting, better quality product... I intended to go with one of the UNPRONOUNCEABLE cheaper brands, but this convinced me!!!! THANKS!!!!!
thank you!! i really appreciate it. and thank you for watching!
Thanks so much for your video. You absolutely answered my thoughts; should I upgrade from my 685 for a V1. Now I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, if I didn't have a flash, I would opt for the V1. But I have a perfectly working 685, so unless someone gifts me with a V1.... Thanks again)))
Since I mostly do sports and wildlife, flash photography is a huge void in my portfolio. Your video planted a few seeds in my mind for future use. Basic flash concepts would be a welcome area of interest for me. Keep the great videos coming.
Thank you Paul!
Nice video man. The major con of v1 is it's size. I don't mind shooting with it whole day but I'm always afraid that it could break. I can't support it with my hand due to supporting my sigma 105mm 😅 They should came up with som sort of supporting rig don't you think 🤔😊
I really prefer the AA battery flash. I don’t use rechargeable batteries in them as they won’t last as long as or have the power of regular batteries. I just keep a stack of AAs at the ready. This is definitely a flash unit I’ll be checking out. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching bro!
And it's very future proof. AA batteries are everywhere and are insanely cheap these days.
I got this flash instead of the v60ii for that reason. I am used to AA rechargeables. I can get a pack of 4 for $8 and lasts at least 2 years. Unless your a wedding or event photographer I stay clear of proprietary batteries.
Does the new version of the tt685 have a green cast like some Godox flashes?
In fact I'm wondering if the old version had a green cast also.
I hesitate between tthe old and the new version. The new has a 2.5mm jack while the old one had a 3.5mm one.
I'm used to 3.5mm jacks...
Good review. Any HSS? Godox v1 is my go to as well solid products from godox no doubt!
Yep there is High Speed Sync!
For me it would be the TT685 because I already have the PB960 power pack for my Nikon SB800 speedlites, so I will just need a new power cord with a Godox connector.
I have 2 685 lights. One is for Canon and the other is for Nikon. I also have a 24" collapsible softbox and the 48" octobox. The octobox is a pain to put up and take down. There's an umbrella type version that costs more that I think I'm going to buy in its place. I bought Panasonic rechargeable AA batteries for my first speed light. I like the fact that if they run down I can always go to a store and buy AA batteries. Even at a gas station. The recycle time may not be as fast but I don't shoot that fast anyway. I recently bought the AD200 pro. I have not used it yet. And I bought the Gary Fong lightsphere. I have used it once at an indoor shoot where I didn't have room for a softbox and it works pretty well.
Do you feel the need to upgrade or are the originals still doing good for you?
@@RyanTroy no. I'll replace them if they stop working.
Just curious if you have used any Nikon flashes and why you prefer Godox. I last used SB910 with D810. This year hopefully will get Z9, but possibly Z8 if it comes out anytime in next year. Have never used they're SB 5000 radio triggered one, and am not aware of any other new Nikon flashes.
I have not had any experience with Nikon Speed Lights. but its because of pricing and the reason i go with godox is because their lineup is soooooooo huge! i use their modifiers i use their strobes and their speedlight and it works together so thats why i keep buying into the system. they make speedlights and triggers for every brand of camera so when purchasing you have to make sure you buy the one that is for Nikon. you can see the N on my speed light that lets you know it is a nikon one
Does Godox have their own radio triggering devices for multiple flashes? Wasn't sure if Nikon did for their new flash which I believe does. Also does Nikon SB910 work on new mirrorless cameras?
honestly i never used nikon speedlights because i always felt they were wayyyyy to expensive. so Godox does have their own trigger and its not expensive at all and it is compatible with all of their speedlights and strobes. check out the xpro trigger for godox thats the one that i use.
As for the battery, you can buy a 24 pack of AA batteries for less than 10 dollars.
Great review brother, I have both of these lights well the version 1 but i love the V1. #ArbiesForTheWin lol
😂😂😂😂 Arbys!!!
Sorry for my ignorance about flash photography but is this model comes with HSS ?
Yes there is HSS
I would like a definition of "a very long time" as a Godox user myself, I'm disagreeing. I'm putting their dependable life at two years used or not. For the TT685 [two of]
Can I use tgis Speed light as a off camera Flash with a a sony Camera with a Trigger ? Reason for asking my homeboy Gifting me one but its for Cannon but i use Sony Nex 5r
Yes. You can use it that way.
@@RyanTroy thank you
The fast charge batteries are the worst. They charge fast, but don't last long and self discharge quickly. I use eneloop which are low self discharge batteries and have been using them since 2007 and recommend them.
build quality is poor, mine broke within a week unfortunatly at the base, hotshoe broke off.
Nikon flashes are still superior to all the Godox speedlights.
you think so? whats the price for the one you use?
@Ops Blac Nikon speedlights they are built better more reliable will out last any Godox flash, Nikon flashes are the best imo I have 4 no issues whatsoever. You can work a Nikon light harder before it overheats, try a Nikon SB 910 and let me know.
@@RyanTroy Yes sir the price I would pay for reliability, I bought an Nikon SB910 in 2014 still banging strong, try one used bro you would see how the Nikon light balance light outdoors.
I say that about my Canon versions too. However there are limitations, but with CPS support now €300 per repair ... I can toss two Godox into the bin after two years ~ so there is that.
But
