My brother has a new I-Box II. When he tries the stock remote, most any button pressed changes settings on his television. He's had to rescan his tv for channels several times because we just had a hard time believing it was actually doing this. We're hard pressed for a resolve. As a result he uses a mouse and hid the remote so nobody uses it. Anyone else have a like-kind problem? Or know of a setting on the remote to try to alleviate this problem? Thanks
Hi, FYI, up to now I have found two types of remotes that do look similiar but have different circuit boards (yes I opened them). They have different IF signals so they are not interchangeable. Meaning you do not have a matching pair(box&remote).
I was pretty sure about that. Unfortunately the company refused this fact. What is worse Amazon was washing its hands and said they are clean since I got the price refunded. Kingsfaith and its mother company still sell on Amazon... Well, I had to learn it in the hard way: do not send back anything to China.
It's the remote not the box problem. There is a simple test to check if the remote is working, by pointing it to your smartphone camera and pressing any of the button.
Ricky Rock has already pointed the fact that there are same looking remote controls with different software on them. So even the box and the remote are both working fine they are still not compatible.
Came home today, power had gone off - when power back on, remote control no longer works with box, exactly as above. Unit probably powered off wrongly.... don't know how to fix it though... very annoying!
Same problem here... But i have solution. Plugin USB mouse! Install from Play store Standby app, then make Android TV BOX to standby with this app and after then remote works again.
i have 6 boxes where the remote seems sometimes unresponsive , I tested it with more remotes and it is all the same , for me I found that you need to point exactly to the box and it works flawless , I have t95 boxes , it is not the remote I have 6 remotes to test , it is the receiver in the box for t95 , point directly to the box and no laggy remote
And again. I am an electronic technician. My remote did not work with this MX III box even for a moment and did not matter if it was 4 inches or 4 meters away. The infra LED was alive when I pressed any buttons so it was transmitting something but whatever it was transmit was incompatible with the box, or the box was faulty which was denied by the supplier.
+Spyder One actually it never did... I have found it in settings, the option is called "Hide status bar". It is confusing because that bar is actually navigation bar and not status bar...
Yes, I have already found that. This one is confusing because status bar is the on on the top of the screen actually. However that was what I was looking for. Thanks for help.
yo tuve ese problema y se soluciono limpiando el interior del contacto mismo . luego lo asegure con trozo de cinta adhesiva . Era nuevo pero llego con suciedad I had that problem was solved and cleaning inside the same contact. then secure it with piece of tape. It was new but came with dirt
Mine arrived today and the remote does not work at all. I tried 2 different sets of brand new AAA but no joy. Pointing it directly at it 1 ft away does nothing.
You can identify if it is a remote problem. One way is to use a teachable universal remote and try to send a signal to it. I for example was able to see a barely glow red light when I pressed a button and looked into the infrared LED. If you succeed that means the remote is transmitting. If not You have a faulty remote.
Company came through for me. They had me order another remote from Amazon and then credited my $5 charge for the remote and that one worked good. The remote that came with the unit was just bad. Thanks,.
My friend, you missed the point. I did actually use it with a wireless keyboard & mouse. The problem was that this unit was brand new out of the box with a non matching remote and the supplier instead of sending me a proper one just denied everything.
Antoinette Green I guess you have then a different model because this one has. The easiest way if you unplug it from the power supply and reconnect. My android box (the successor of this one) turns on this way. However my new box also have control over HDMI. It means I am able to switch on the box and the TV with one touch of the box remote and turn them both off with the TV sets remote.
I sent the unit back to China. They lied to me and refused to pay me back my postal costs. If you find a universal remote control which works with it is one solution, or you use wireless keyboard and press the standby button manually. I wish I did not send the unit back but I did.
Preya James All universal remotes have automated search function bull built in. So you start to press the off button in search mode and if nothing happens go to the next setting... and so on.
+Black Green Then You have a faulty remote controller or faulty receiver in Your box. You can check if the batteries are properly touching the + / - points and the connection between them. If sometimes works sometimes not is most likely a contact error somewhere. Or there is a broken soldering point on the circuit board. Or anything else but these are the first obvious points to be checked. I hope I could help, good luck!
+Damarcus Bell Unfortunately I won't be able to test that since I sent the unit back. Even if it works that way there are few questions: Why I was not provided this information from the seller? On the other hand this is an Android TV box, not KODI or XBMC box and should be working with XBMC/KODI uninstalled too, isn't it?
+Gracias Palacios i managed to figure a workaround. If you have a IR capable phone you can download the "Sure Universal Remote" app on your phone and use the "amlogic" frequency. Hope that helps :)

hello friend. i have the same problem with mine. what did you do? did you fix it? hope to hear from you.
idan shain Hi, where did you get the unit from? I have some ideas if you get it from the Amazon as I did.
+Spyder One i bought it from 'geekbuying' ,not from amazon.. it is a new unit. just got it yesterday.
It's the remote not the box problem.

how does this test the remote. mine not working controller not even lighting up
how does this test the remote. mine not working controller not even lighting up
So what if the check shows light how do i get my remote to work
There is no way. You only can test if the remote is transmitting anything.
Came home today, power had gone off - when power back on, remote control no longer works with box, exactly as above. Unit probably powered off wrongly.... don't know how to fix it though... very annoying!
Dealing with the same issue now. Have yet to come up with a solution. What a shame.
Yesterday, I received the MXQ TV Box, and found that the remote control does not work, while using the mouse is ok.
Welcome in the Club! :) Is the remote controller transmitting anything, or really does not work?
Same problem works with pc pad remote perfect

Does anyone know how to set up the Android tv remote for smart iptv? I cannot click on blue to go on groups. Blue turns up the volume. Please help
OMG I'm having the same problem with the SAME remote! Very frustrating
Well if you could test if a smartphone with infrared and appropriate app works around the problem would be really appreciated.
sophee24 did you ever fix the problem ?
@@kassandraortiz7522 computer mouse USB work miss it fix your problems with remote
the navigation bar below (back, home, recent apps) is not visible in mine. Niether can I "drag" it up with mouse. How can I make it visible?
That is the normal state of this unit. They will appear as soon as you start an Android application such as a browser, game... etc.
+Spyder One actually it never did... I have found it in settings, the option is called "Hide status bar". It is confusing because that bar is actually navigation bar and not status bar...
+Emil Huseynov yep, the status bar is the top one.

Is there a way to fix it if u do the phone camera check and it shows light
Has your box worked with this remote previously? If yes, there is a slight chance to fix the problem with a hard reset. But more likely not.
its worked before i reset the box and changed the remote batteries
The serial number of the unit is: S/N:S802A150304302 2G.

How do you turn on your android box without a remote
I guess with the button on the top of the unit, obviously. ;)

Any fix for it?

how do I used my universal remote to the Android box I don't have any codes

i have the same problem with my mxiii tv box, the remote sometimes works.
+Black Green
No, you have not. There is a fine line between "sometimes works" and "never works". And also it HAS never worked, not for a moment.
+Spyder One my remote was working for 4 days, now it stops and it has been doing for two weeks now.
+Black Green

mine having the same problem, i tried your solution , no result , the same problem
i just unplug it a few times and then it works.
I have the same problem
I want to know if anyone has figured out how to fix this problem ??? plz let me know thx so much
The easiest solution is to force the supplier to send the proper remote controller.
+Gracias Palacios i managed to figure a workaround. If you have a IR capable phone you can download the "Sure Universal Remote" app on your phone and use the "amlogic" frequency. Hope that helps :)
Actually this is a brilliant solution! I wish I had that in mind as I recorded this video with a HTC One M7 which has infrared port...
i download it , i looked for amlogic i didn't find nothing with that name, plz how you do the amlogic frequency thx
+Chadi Afifi As soon as I have a little time for testing I will look and let you know the result.
you gotta turn it on from settingsmbox display.
nope. that's for remoting the unit via Wi-Fi.
