A thing like a bio crafter explains so much, like everyone not freaking out when they find a natural cloning factory (the onions) and Olimar's complete disregard for the pikmin's lives.
I don’t think Olimar has complete disregard, they both need each other after all, Olimar needs them to get his spaceship together, but they also benefit from him because he helped them get rid of their predators and increase their population. Even in the end scenes for the games, you see them able to fight against other creatures that they never would have otherwise been able to defeat on their own.
ok I should clarify, in the gameplay there is no punishment for killing any number of pikmin as long as you have at least one of that color left is what I meant by "complete disregard for the pikmin's lives." at the very least the only message I've seen in game about the topic is olimar seeing the pain in a yellow pikmin's face after accidentally blowing it's self up.
I actually found this by complete accident because my character just happens to look exactly like Molly except that the hair is pink instead of green. I saw her ID photo and I was like “omg that is my twin” and SHE POINTS IT OUT. I thought maybe it was coincidence so I went to go change my look to see if she would say something different and the stylist brought it up too
In the demo, I thought it would be fun for my character to be the weird, lanky son of Professor E. Gadd. Little did I know I had made a Russ doppelganger, haha. Cool they programmed these extra bits, but they probably should have made the main NPCs unique from the character creator, haha.
Well they did for the _main_ ones, but I guess they didn’t feel like uniquely designing characters from many different planets that are completely insignificant and just used the character creator.
@@KubickQ Russ is a pretty important NPC, though. He's the scientist you trade your raw materials to get upgrades and items from. Like, everyone from the Rescue Corps should have been unique, at least.

it's a shame the koppaites didn't get some variation of this where they say you look like a hocotatian version of them the character i created right at the start ended up looking exactly like nelle when i eventually got to save her would've had an organic chance to learn this feature exists
@@elianhg2144 when i said hocotatian i simply meant their species rather than home planet as that's the only name we've had to refer to the pointy eared people for the past forever just like how if there had been a round eared character from giya or something i'd probably still call them koppaite as their species

My character looked like Chet but with different colors. I don't recall seeing his "you look like me" dialogue, but I do remember the stylist saying I look like someone else there.
My character ended up looking the same as 2:51 Keesh but with different colors. Puddle told me I looked just like someone else at the base but I didn't catch that Keesh also mentioned it 1:09 EXCUSE ME??? They really hid a huge detail like that behind something almost no one is going to try?
I noticed there was dialogue when you looked similar to a character when Sheeba mentioned I looked like her! Also yeah it's interesting how they just casually mention lore like that
Some more things I found out: You can't perfectly copy the Koppaites. They use features from your character creator but slightly altered. Yorke's freckles, Don's square mustache and scar, Nelle's glasses, and all three's rounded ears. Same goes for all the rescue corps members except Collin and Shepard, whose faces and hair are totally different from your possible options. The people who actually do things like Schnauz and Corgwin don't have any special text, but Puddle still points out that you look like them
I find it interesting how certain npcs have different suits and hair colors from savefile to savefile, I did not know that until I saw Chez with pink hair, mine has blue which I find is very stylish for his benefactor personality. Y'know, since blue is a color often linked wit loyalty and all that, I think...
@@jardex2275 that's based purely on which color you select for your space suit in the character creator, it even changes the ship and other rescue corps members when you change it with the stylist npc
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the castaways with variable hair colours are the ones that were leaflings! The castaways seem to turn up in a set order no matter where you find them, but the leaflings are specific colours based on the physical location where you find them (though the exact Dandori Battles/Challenges in each cave also depends on the order you do them in), and when you cure a Leafling, their hair turns out to be the same colour their leaves were... so the nth leafling you cure will always be the same person, but could be any colour of Leafling, so their hair colour is decided when you cure them! Probably.

This guy's always talking about a rival that has always been around him and whenever he quotes this "rival" that guy speaks certain words in all caps (just like Bernard). Not only that but you find out that his rival is a *pilot* like him. EDIT: Just talked to Bernard a few times and he basically confirms it.

1:09 Is it really that weird? It just seems like a fourth wall break to me. A “biocrafter” is, by Pitunia’s definition, a way to refer to someone’s mother. The second part when she mentions that the player character likely wasn’t made by a biocrafter could just be a small nod to the fact that the PC is a vessel created for the player to experience the game, thus meaning the PC wasn’t created organically, but instead created by the character creator process. The real question is how she knows our character wasn’t made by a biocrafter.
It isn't. The dialogue is just a xenobiologist who is currently studying a natural biological factory having a bit of fun with words. She's literally just saying "Oh, are we children from the same mother? No, that'd be impossible without me knowing about you."
Interesting to not that the hair color does not need to match. I got the dialogue for Beaux even though my character’s hair was red. And come to think of it I think the skin tones may have been different too

My rescue team has all blue suits, while I've seen others with red suits in their games.
