I’ve heard convincing speculation that “bean” actually refers to the Glow Seeds, since they’re a separate entity from Glow Pikmin when thrown. That’s why their colors are near identical to “Photon” (Glow Pikmin), and they don’t have a flower or bud color. The fact that they would have a pellet color shows that the plan might have been to have a green onion/pellet that produces Glow Seeds. It would make for good DLC. So would Bulbmin
It seems to me that alpha, Brittany, and Charlie were originally planned to appear but were replaced sometime during development. What that reason is, who knows. Kind of a shame in my opinion. Would love to have seen then return for a small story related cameo
It would make sense. But I don't think pikmin wants us to explore the areas again, or fight the plasm wraith due to olimars greed whatsoever. Pikmin (usually) doesn't have final boss repeats. However, there is the Sovereign and/or emperor bulblaxes.
I’ve seen this theory a lot, and I just want to issue the reminder that the Piklopedia refers to the “parasite pikmin” AS Bulbmin. Bulbmin is NOT the name for a Bulborb-Pikmin, it is the name of “Parasiticus pikminicus”, the thing that makes a Bulborb its host. Unless this information is retconned, there is no individual parasite, and because the Bulbmin are referenced as ambuloradices like the Creeping ‘Mums in Pikmin 4, it’s unlikely that this info was retconned at all.
A side note: Almost all pikmin types seen to date actually made their first appearance in the true ending of pikmin 1. Although not seen directly, Purple, White, Grey, Pink and Cyan were among some of the colors in that ending that eventually reappeared in future pikmin games. And although white and purple onions did not appear in pikmin 2, they finally do in pikmin 4. The only two colors seen in the ending to not yet make an official appearance are Green and orange... And lo and behold. a green onion, a green pellet and a green pikmin type seems to indicate we would have gotten our green colored pikmin type as well. As it stands though...its possible that an orange or green color coded type will appear in pikmin 5 or dlc in this game
I doubt we get green pikmin. Glow pikmin seem to have completely replaced them whatsoever. Although, we may get them. Glow pikmin are yellow-greenish and glowing.
@@GalacticalSceronGlow Pikmin are a Lime Green, but that doesn't mean their can't be a dark green pikmin. Just like how the Blue and Ice Pikmin are blue; Ones actually Blue, and the others Light Blue/Cyan.

If that was the case, they probably decided to scrap it when someone pitched the idea of only having Glow Pikmin be useable at night and in caves to make them more balanced.

Edit: nevermind The sentence "the quick browm fox jumps over the lazy dog" is a sentence which contains every Letter in the modern english alphabet, and the number in the all caps verison contains every a copy number in base 10. This debug text was likely used to test all the letters and numbers in the font.
What do you think the text says on the sign? My favorite guess so far is the list of enemies that appear in the areas. Similar to how a sign at a normal aquarium shows you what is in the tank. Every word appears to start with a capital letter, but it is still hard to make out what the words are. They could easily be in Japanese as well.
5:55 Boundary Break actually just made a video on pikmin 4 with this sign. Through a modded camera he can actually get a really good view of the model.
Changing the colors of a model isn't that difficult, so it makes sense to think that when they were making the onions, they made it so all of the colors they were gonna use for pikmins were able to have an onion, until it wasn't enecesary for Glow/Bean/Green pikmin since their mechanic changes so much from normal pikmin I love to learn about this kind of unused and debug content so much, loved the video! ^^
They actually used some tricks in this game for that. If youre familiar with modeling, i have some context for that. It used to be that, there was a unique model for each ship color. There is actually only one model for a Pikmin's ship, and the only difference is the color that is painted onto it. Normal maps would be used to decide whether you have more than 1 pikmin type in the ship or not. Restoring the original "bean" pikmin colors were not difficult at all when the game gave us the hex values used to paint them.
Hopefully we get to see the Bean Pikmin again someday, I love their concept and the way it borrows from their real life counterparts, being ants. I know you could say that the green coloration is taken by Glow Pikmin, but since they technically aren’t Pikmin at all, you could say that it could still be possible in the way that both Purple Pikmin and Puffmin can exist with the same coloration.
Looking closely at the sign text… it probably doesn’t say anything coherent, considering how each word has its first letter capitalized, how many unusually long words are used, and that the text doesn’t look to be one large sentence (rather each line appears to be formatted like it is its own paragraph). Furthermore, a few of the lines appear to show up more than once, exactly identical in blurry shape. Maybe some Japanese devs just copied random English words from a dictionary?
Well we know now that a Darker green pikmin was supposed to be added, just means that in a few years we'll have Bean Pikmin to look forward to! Hopefully we're not all dead by then
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. i was about to comment this too lol it sounds like somebody that is pissed that that sentence has been used for basically every font preview ever and is keeping a tally
No problem! I appreciate that. The development of this game has a lot of stuff in it that we still don't know about yet. The game used Unreal Engine for most of the programming, and most of us are not unity devs unfortunately. With enough time, I'm sure there will be more to talk about.
i'd love to see the title screen at 5:02 made into a wallpaper engine background, like looped in a specific way to where when it starts up it zooms out from the tv and just plays the rest on loop
ive always wanted a pikmin wallpaper engine, it would be so cool if you could see pikmin doing stuff while in the background. i know it would be a nightmare to animate since id imagine it would last awhile so i know its unlikely someone would make it, but it would be awesome.
The idea that if glow pikmin are the green onion in pikmin 1’s credits, taking place of the bean pikmin… that means that all that’s left for onion types (by process of elimination, by no means am I saying we’re gonna stop getting new pikmin after this) then it’s crazy to think that, unless bulbmin are somehow it, the orange onion is still to this day unaccounted for, which I think is just a neat thing to look forward to in the next game :)
Parasitic Pikmin makes me think of Bulbmin. Maybe the idea was that they were weak on their own but they could go inside enemy corpses after you defeated them and you could make your own Bulbmin? I’d imagine when they sprout or come out of the onion they’d be the green bean looking guys and you’d have to find a new host each day for them. They could have scrapped the idea because it’d be a lot of work making a host for each enemy or they scrapped it because enemies don’t respawn? Just throwing out a wild idea
It sounds like Bean Pikmin were originally meant to replace finding shards in the bridge building mechanics, probably inspired by the way ants build living bridges to span chasms. However this was replaced with the mechanic of using materials to build bridges.

I will remain the number 1 supporter of the Original Concept i will never let it go Edit: Also if they ever make a different orange pikmin ill never accept it
Really surprised we didn’t see any files pertaining to a potential Wii U build seeing as how it started development there. I would expect to find some files maybe pertaining to the gamepad or even miiverse, as the operations base always felt like a sort of “Miiverse plaza” nintendo would put into their games at this time (e.g. splatoon, animal crossing plaza) wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more Wii U files get discovered, through I’m also not fully sure how much has been decompiled yet lol
I don't remember anything with references to Wii U, but there was information related to mobile devices in the game's files. In the file DefaultDeviceProfiles.ini, there are references to iPads, Galaxy Devices, and other modern mobile and PC OS devices. These are most likely related to the Pikmin Bloom links though, so I did not include them. The game runs in Unreal Engine, so it is entirely possible that these files were just necessary files with Unreal Engine 4.
ruclips.net/video/YETygKnhIRw/видео.html according to small parts of the internet and my own bad memory, this song plays when first loading into the alt start menu (the one taking place in heros hideaway) after the first time, it never plays again (i think)
I have to wonder if they’ll do DLC of some sort for this game. It’s definitely copium but another area would be awesome, even if the game already has so much content
It was way too short. You also had absolutely ZERO reasons to revisit an old area. Just 100% the area in one go, no need to get other pikmin types at all. Also Winged and Rock Pikmin are rather useless now. And to top it off NO RESPAWNING ENEMIES OUTSIDE OF CAVES.
Like I feel like this could lead to a 4 DLC with a new campaign including Bulbmin, which I hope they do return so they can see the daylight, maybe adding a new thing that the Orange Onion is for Bulbmin!
It’s actually more difficult to purge content from a game as opposed to just leaving it in if it doesn’t take up much space. Some of these things are probably part of debugs or scrapped ideas they don’t have plans to bring back. If something exists for future DLC, it likely wouldn’t be in the files that we see now, unless they decide to revive content for it.
Very sad we didn't get the original orange Glow pikmin & the green bean pikmin... The 'raw materials' thing was cute for like two seconds, but it's a weak concept. I would have much preferred having temporary bridges or at least natural clay piles for the pikmin to harvest from.
Is there any way to see from the data which of these audio files are being used in which situations? Is the only way to determine this is to listen to them one by one?

I believe that bean is just bean pikmin and they were a scrapped type. Because of the onion and such
This could be reaching but with the pikmin 3 music files and character files what if there was supposed to be a side story for the 3 og kopaiates or maybeeeee there’s gonna be a dlc for those 3 characters??
I’m pretty sure the video with Oatchi, the Pikmin and the Bulborb is used in the game, jt’s a chance to get it on the title screen
I would have loved a 2nd bean type instead of the glowmin being the only other type since they are basically bulbmin and pikmin 2 added two new types amd the bulbmin
Bro beated the whole game in less than a minute💀
I feel like this video needs more traction, ur doin amazing work
@@Gimmicking well I’m happy that these are doing well! Have a good one!
I still refuse to accept green glow pikmin, I want Orange Glow Pikmin from the concept art page and ill never let it go. Hope we do get Green Bean Pikmin in future DLC though. They are the only Green Pikmin I Need and Want.
I will remain the number 1 supporter of the Original Concept i will never let it go
Edit: Also if they ever make a different orange pikmin ill never accept it
Hopefully we’ll get a green Pikmin
They were gonna add the fiddle min
Behold the worker class Bean/Green pikmin
Green pikmin in pikmin 5
at 5:18 that is actually a secret title screen I think because I actually keep seeing it on Pikmin 4 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I wonder why there isn’t a pellet color in the graph for the dandori battles even though they have unique pellet colors for each team
Pikmin 4 is not a squeal and I believe it’s been confirmed by the devs and the game itself
If you ever feel useless, remember that there are youtube subtitles on this video.
The grene onion must be the green pikmin a worker class
I just clicked. I'm feeling lucky and I found this.
I love the bean pikmin pellet they are SOOO SHINY

according to small parts of the internet and my own bad memory, this song plays when first loading into the alt start menu (the one taking place in heros hideaway)
after the first time, it never plays again (i think)
*Imagine if they had a bulby onion*
I have to wonder if they’ll do DLC of some sort for this game. It’s definitely copium but another area would be awesome, even if the game already has so much content
6:43 I caught that Lol
The order and placement of the audio files for the pikmin to sing is disjointed. I would like to know how to align these.
Wait, what about my video, the unused preview of groovy long legs theme???? It’s was removed after the games release.
You have my attention
7:26
5728100643.99 times! that fox must be tired!
3:27 Isn't this the reveal trailer theme?
6:49 l is real obviously
That's amazing
It was way too short. You also had absolutely ZERO reasons to revisit an old area. Just 100% the area in one go, no need to get other pikmin types at all. Also Winged and Rock Pikmin are rather useless now. And to top it off NO RESPAWNING ENEMIES OUTSIDE OF CAVES.
i actually like visiting the areas even if its completely done i just bring up the pikmin population for all the types
The dog made everything too easy
So play without using him, game is pretty open to difficulty pathing
Is it me or is some of the unused content seems a bit suspicious to be left in?
Like I feel like this could lead to a 4 DLC with a new campaign including Bulbmin, which I hope they do return so they can see the daylight, maybe adding a new thing that the Orange Onion is for Bulbmin!
It’s actually more difficult to purge content from a game as opposed to just leaving it in if it doesn’t take up much space. Some of these things are probably part of debugs or scrapped ideas they don’t have plans to bring back. If something exists for future DLC, it likely wouldn’t be in the files that we see now, unless they decide to revive content for it.
how long was that quick brown fox going for
Pikmin 5
Very sad we didn't get the original orange Glow pikmin & the green bean pikmin... The 'raw materials' thing was cute for like two seconds, but it's a weak concept. I would have much preferred having temporary bridges or at least natural clay piles for the pikmin to harvest from.
i clicked this so fast lol
It says L is real 2401
Is there any way to see from the data which of these audio files are being used in which situations? Is the only way to determine this is to listen to them one by one?
3:27 what is this link to audio? Please give me the link.
Description
@@Gimmicking is it a dandori battle theme remix?
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/16_omTbJ_utucdFT_DxqgjVz-Nj4iXhqmvcMSt6gbtNA/htmlview too hard to find
3:26 can you make an ost for that theme?
All of the sounds used are in the description :)
4:42 I wanna see that full video! (Or the music)
Is there a video of the first credits without text
ruclips.net/video/8rIKlwQRZ6Y/видео.html - Yes there is! The video does not have sound by default though
Cool
Based on file data are you able to pin the time Pikmin 4 started development?
So far, that is the oldest date that appears on the files. There might be some more data in the .uproject file when we figure out how to open it.
@@Gimmickingare you talking about the 2022 date shown in the video?
