    I know this is an old video Mike but has anyone ever clocked the speed between the two different PCBs? Is the 8mb a tab bit faster than the 4 or are they the exact same?

    Very interesting video! I got a problem with my MKII board. When I boot up the machine, I ear 2 "dong" sounds wich, according to the sound test, means bad U2 checksum. What that do is when I perform a fatality, the sound stops working. Friendship and babality are fine. Just fatality makes the sound to crash. The way to avoid having to reboot the machine in case someone tries a fatality, I've simply turned violence dipswitch to off so no fatality are allowed. Do you know where I can get a U2 sound rom for the sound board to get faltalitys again? Maybe you could happen to have some spares roms.
    I do not want to buy a whole game/sound boards just for 1 defect rom chip.
    Thank you very much!

    I very recently acquired an MKII Cabinet and watched your "Mortal Kombat PCB Voltage Issue/Reset Solution" video. The advice given in the video fixed my resetting problem but now I'm getting red UA11 and UA12 during the bootup diagnostics. Not sure what I did but now the graphics are a complete mess. Do you happen to have a video showing how to replace the RAM chips as well as a link to a vendor who might sell me some? Thanks :)

    What is your occupation? Not sure if you mentioned it in an earlier video? Do you have a degree in electrical engineering or something along those lines, or is it all self taught? Sorry for all the questions, I tend to watch your videos at breakfast before college in the mornings lol

    So do you have any memory expansion boards for sale?? If so, how much, and how soon can you get it to me?!? Or, do you sell a kit to do the conversion? I have a board that is saying U6-U12 is bad. Either of those options look good to me atm... The game plays, but the actual selected players are scrambled like they are out of sync and garbled across the bottom of the screen. The service screens all work properly, setting the volume, reset to factory,etc, All work, just the characters as they appear as sprites on the screen are garbled.

    • @YourMKArcadeSource
      @YourMKArcadeSource  7 лет назад

      For sale? No. I have like 4 of them lying around. You can have one if you want it. Just message me your email and we can communicate that way and I can get one out to you.

    good video thanks you can give me the files of the version 3.1 give information of the files to program rooms 8b pcb the sound rooms are also programmed which erpom you recommend me to program them thanks

  • @replicax

    Mike a 16L8CN is a PAL and not a GAL. It's most likely protected with a closed fuse and IDK if its fusemap can work on a GAL to reproduce them. If its fuse is open you could convert it GAL. My programmer only programs them.

    What about the dipswitch?
    Can you leave the chip in if you change the dipswitch to "1 Circuit board"

    • @YourMKArcadeSource
      @YourMKArcadeSource  9 лет назад

      John Smith No. You must also change the little GAL chip I talked about.

      Oh.
      So what's the dipswitch for?

    • @YourMKArcadeSource
      @YourMKArcadeSource  9 лет назад

      It's used if you don't want to manually reposition the soldered-in jumpers I mentioned. You can leave them installed the way they are and just flip the dip switch instead, but you'll still need the correct 8mb GAL chip.

      You're welcome! Just remember that if they aren't blank and you have to erase them, they take 45-60 minutes to fully erase. They can give a false positive on the blank check sometimes. Make sure they are fully erased by letting them sit the 45-60 minutes before you try and burn them. I've had to learn the hard way. Also, I assume you have the correct 8mb GAL chip that I mention in the video? If you don't, you can't convert a 4mb board to an 8mb board.

      Hi good morning, could you please help me ? The thing is that, I did the whole process you did through the video. However, It did not fully worked, all the EPROMs show up in green, but the music does not Mach with the game. (I have no problems with the sound board because I have another dual mortal 2 and the sound board works great). The revision of the 3.1? Any idea please I’d really appreciate it
