I tried this on a UMK3 machine at a local arcade and was wondering why it didn't work. If I wanted to play any more I had to keep calling an attendant to jam the coin mechanism 30 times! Thanks for the vids!

Then I believe you held up on both joysticks and the 1 and 2 player buttons and it gave you another game. I may not be 100% correct on the execution because it was so long ago but it was something like that.
+Gaming With Gleez You had to perform an Animality on the third round against Ermac, then the game would take you back to the 'choose your destiny' screen for some unknown reason. Certainly a useful glitch if you're good at the game, that's for sure!
i did this trick when i went to a arcade that had mk2 i set it to free play and played mk2 for free for hours then left it on free play when i left for everyone else to enjoy
It all depends, you can get a cabinet anywhere from $500-$1500. Just depends on the condition and such. If the side art is scratched or bad new replacements are around $200 for good quality ones. Think that package comes with the control panel front and sides. New control panel overlay is around $50-$60. New buttons and joystick are about $45. That's about most of all what you may need to give you an idea. I have almost $2000 into mine. $800 for thr umk cab. $900 for mk1,mk2,mk3,umk, the switcher and wires, new lexan, all new buttons and switches, cpo, t molding ect. Sometimes you can get an old midway cabinet for cheap like around $100 if ita in bad shape or concerted. Then it's just the matter of redoing whatever you feel like and finding the game pcb to stick in there. The game PCBs are getting around $200-$350 a piece right now and have definitely gone up

Here's one for ya, when I plugged my UMK3 board into my CRT via a supergun setup and S-video input everything ran but the video kept moving like a slot machine from top to bottom. The MK games run at a 53hz refresh rate compared to other games that run at 60hz. You'll need to adjust the Vertical Hold setting on your setup to fix it.
YourMKArcadeSource Oh and one more question, will a regular PC power supply cord work to power the jamma PSU brick? I have some laying around Id rather hack the end off one of those and wire it in than buy one.

I just tried it on my 6 in 1 switcher. I was able access ejb menu on all of them. If I ever see an mk2-umk out in the wild I am doing this lol
Well, at least there's an override. As cool as it is to go in and play MK games for free, it would probably suck for the arcade owners...
+Superkidra I can see them banning EJB menu usage for a few reasons already, too, like disabling Hiddens in UMK3, which could get annoying

Don't ever do this on the arcade ports of UMK3 (MK Arcade Kollection and the XBLA) the game will be totally screwed if you turn off the freeplay.
Wouldn't really matter, would be a case of just uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
It just will not let you to do that. The freeplay setting is controlled via virtual dipswitch

Why is UMK3 not be part of today's fighting game tournaments like Super Street Fighter II Turbo? UMK3 had a lot of sick combos than SSF2T.
