Do you guys know if this EJB menu works on versions of UMK3 for PS2 which is found within Mortal Kombat Armageddon and PC's Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection?
I asked a a guy on ebay that sells happ joy sticks & buttons & he said he wasn't sure if they are compatible, so that's cool to know. Also want to see how you do the lit up marquee. Thanks for the video here, very helpful.
Replacing the buttons with Happ should work fine but you'll need to get some new wiring. I don't think Happ makes a joystick that will work with the board inside the A1U. I plan to just remove all of the original A1U boards and controls and put in a PC with USB encoder boards to wire all of the new controls. I'm hoping the marquee stuff will arrive soon so I can get to installing them! I'll hopefully have a video on it in a week or two.

After you change the sound settings from EJB menu, do you really have to go to that diagnostic screen where it shows lot of technical boxes and codes (@3:50), if so why? It seems it can mess some things there...
Thank you very much, Killer Arcade Games. The fact that I have the complete Mame 0.139u set-up on my laptop, I will try sometime this week to see if it'll work for me. Happy 2022 to you and yours.
You can reset the game while playing with Scorpion doing the teleport punch move back to back fast. I used to do it a lot playing against good players I couldn’t beat.

@@KillerArcadeGames yes I been struggling on if I wanted to buy a basic riser and get printed logo or a official mk riser , I feel the printed logo route would be more expensive. So I'll wait lol
Hello Killer Arcade Games! Was wondering if I can send you some octagonal gates, tension springs, and bat tops for a hardware mod mini review? Let me konw, thanks!
I’d love to do that, but I’ve modded all of my cabinets and removed the stock controls. If I get another one (not sure when that will be) I’d be willing to try it out. Those square gates were awful.
Does the arcade1up Mortal Kombat joystick itself have the square or octagonal gate? Been debating on getting an arcade1up cabinet, emulation is spray a turn off, but these are pretty neat. Do you honestly think the Mortal Kombat one is worth it, and the closest way to play and experience the original Mortal Kombat arcades back in the day?
They come with square gates stock. Its not very difficult to replace them with octagonal gates. I HATED the SF2 cabinet's controls. The sticks were awful. I only bought it to mod it so it wasn't a big deal. Mortal Kombat's stock controls were better. The joystick is the weakest point. Its very loose feeling but I was still able to pull off moves. I ultimately modded that cabinet into a MAME cabinet and replaced the controls with Happ sticks/buttons. Its so much better that way. If you're okay with the controls not feeling exactly like the original arcade and the fact that the emulation looks more pixelated than MAME, you'll enjoy this cabinet. If that’s a deal breaker, you could mod the cabinet but that increases your cost and effort quite a bit.
@@KillerArcadeGames hmm interesting... Questions... 1 so where is the best place and brand to purchase octagonal Gates and BAT TOP joysticks? 2. will this mod also work on HORI arcade fighting sticks? 3. Did Mortal Kombat originally come stock with the square gate back in the 90s arcades?
You can get both on Amazon fairly cheap Gates: amzn.to/2jJd6Wn Bat tops: amzn.to/2Y9ECyE I can't answer the HORI question, I've never used those and don't know much about them. The original MK arcades game with Happ controls, as far as I know there isn't a "gate" on those. They are 8 way joysticks that move smoothly in a circle. That's what I installed in my cabinets, it feels exactly like the original cabinets because it's the same. I buy button/joystick kits that are replacement packs for the real cabinets. I get them from Tornado Terry on eBay. Killer Instinct Set: goo.gl/E5dHJD Mortal Kombat Set: ebay.to/2VxLWDH I must warn you, if you decide to go that route, you must cut some of the joystick mount off. Since they’re made for the real arcades, they’re a little too large and will over lap either the buttons (on the SF2 cabinet) or the left side of the cabinet wall (the MK cabinet). Its not very difficult but you’ll need a dremel or something similar to cut it off. I show how to install those controls here: ruclips.net/video/fJ1CNyCF5gY/видео.html
@@KillerArcadeGames wow awesome, thank you so much. I saved all those links you gave me for the parts. So what website would you recommend for fully customizing a fighting joystick in general for PS4, Xbox One, etc?
Modding Arcade1Up I got it on May 27th. It worked on both mk2 and umk3 for me. I entered the ejb menu every time I started the games cause I was afraid of the brick said to come from saving initials. Then one of my buddies just started the cabinet up, selected umk3 and I walked over, immediately noticed that all the characters were available and the volume was fine. I exited went to mk2 and the settings were as I changed them without having to access ejb. I never saved my initials and it’s been working great. I don’t change anything in mk1, unless there is a volume fix. I couldn’t find it
This is very interesting. I tested mine before making the video to make sure it didn't save. Maybe they were trying to stop these from bricking! Or you just have a really special cabinet lol.
Hahaha I do the same thing. I find myself trying to pinch to zoom in on real pictures these days. I’m 35, I grew up without technology but it doesn’t take long to get that used to it!
Hahah I'm glad its entertaining. Sometimes I sit there and edit these thinking "I talk way too much" lol. The developers went wild on this one! I completely forgot one fun fact, the attract mode animated sequence was done by Deadpool director Tim Miller! That was probably the best fun fact and I forgot it.
Nice vid man. The last button count for the EJB menu is actually 3, not 4. That is why you’re always entering the diagnostic menu. And MK4 is not able to be emulated, so you can’t play it in Mame like the rest of these games. You’d have to use the PC version.
Thanks! Someone else told me that too, I copied the code from testyourmight's forum. that would explain why I always ended up in that menu. I had planned to use the PC version of MK4 anyway, even if MK4 worked on MAME, the PC I'm using wouldn't be able to run it lol. I did consider building another cabinet and buying a real MK4 board, its just pretty expensive and tough to find a board right now. Thanks for checking out this video, I've watched your channel off and on for years now. I hope to make it out to that arcade where some of your pristine condition cabinets are! Its a solid 8 hour drive for me though.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I do not think that there is a difficulty adjustment for Mortal Kombat one correct? Because I was only able to do it on 2 and 3 with no adverse effects
There's no way to do it on MK1, currently. I don't want to say it will never happen but its not likely. I know there won't be any volume settings to play with even if you get in, that game never had software volume settings. Just a knob inside the coin door. If you run the CPU test on the EJB menu in MK1, it just reboots immediately after.
There is a slight problem when turning on freeplay, when going to your character select screen, everything will be jumbled and look weird. It doesn’t affect the game but it makes it annoying to pick a character. If you do decide to do this, you can fix it by turning freeplay off.
To my knowledge, All Arcade Cabinets have this Diagnostic Setting. not just 1Up. All done the same way. The funny thing is too. All Arcade owners know this Diagnostic Code. Mainly for that reason, adjusting sounds, color, or switching out monitors. Or even filters like making it HQ, progressive, Interlaced, esg. Depending on your moniter you use. I have this cabinet that I made and a program called Mame Acade on my PC. And I can adjust everything on every game I have. In the setting like this one.
Real arcades and MAME do give you access to the service menus. Arcade1Up didn't on these so using this EJB menu trick makes it possible. The EJB menu is fun to poke around in on it's own though.
I just got the Mortal kombat legacy edition from arcade 1up and it's not letting me save the characters like the origin version. Is there a reason why?
followed everything you do a T and it all worked and all games still work no bricking as of yet. question I have is will it save if i unplug the cabinet? thanks again for the detailed tutorial!
If you entered your initials, it should be saved even if you shut it off or unplug it. If you haven’t seen already, I have a new video that shows you how to get into MK1’s test menu and change the difficulty and that saves too! ruclips.net/video/lq9FO8qhSKQ/видео.html
I would have thought they would have fixed the audio for the newer version. The Costco version looks better than the one I got. My monitor sucks, I would have had to swapped but I threw away the receipt not thinking I'd need it. They won't replace it without a receipt.
It looks like they mapped those run buttons as block buttons in MK1-2. The weird thing is if you hold the run button it won’t continuously block in those games. It acts as if you pressed it once.
The difficulty adjust apparently does nothing on both 2 and 3. The original console versions most people actually remember had easier AI, but the PC / console trilogy re-releases used the original arcade code and are thus impossible without using repetitive AI exploit strategies. I’ve read that the only other way is to simply lose approximately 20 times and then the AI handicaps itself to finally let you win the round. Apparently MKII’s AI also responds differently depending on whether you’re Player 1 or 2. But yeah, in both 2 and 3 the computer can spam special moves with no cooldown, deals more damage, gets hit priority over you, has better reach, immediately reads and reacts to your button input instead of the animation, etc. It basically makes having those two on the 1up completely pointless unless you’re playing against friends. MK1’s AI is still really cheap, but it’s beatable without resorting to extreme exploit strategies up until the boss fights. UMKIII even has the “difficulty ladders” but selecting novice is pretty meaningless because the game reverts to the highest difficulty after a couple rounds. MK1 also throws a couple easy rounds your way, but the arcade version gets pretty punishing about two characters before the doubles matches.
I do notice the first few characters are easier when you lower the difficulty but I definitely agree it ramps up drastically to an unbeatable level. Its almost like the game is forcing you to pay to beat certain characters. Or like you said, after you've died and pumped in $10 in money you can progress and it backs down again for the next few characters. The console versions weren't interested in making you continue repeatedly since they already got your money in one bulk purchase. But that arcade cabinet wanted to get record "collections" for arcade owners. If you watch the promos for the arcade games they would send out to operators, you'll hear them talk about how the game will bring in huge amounts of money. They can't do that if its too easy and someone can beat the whole game for just a credit or two. I now know why my local arcade would often have 2-3 cabinets of the newest Mortal Kombat. They must have made crazy amounts of money. The AI is so insanely frustrating at times in MK2. If you jump they instantly do too and kick you in the face lol. I'm sure the developers had zero idea that these could one day be repackaged in a free play only set up and sold to consumers. It would have been smart to change the difficulty to a reasonable level when its set to free play. I'm arguably much better at Killer Instinct than Mortal Kombat but I can fairly easily beat Killer Instinct on the hardest setting and more than easily beat the game with zero continues. It does not seem to have that same cheap AI.
My freaking hands hurt I’ve tried multiple times can’t seem to get the code in right or fast enough is it more of a speed issue or is there a certain pattern when entering?
I was messing around with the mame settings lastnight and found out that you could up the fps to 60fps and above because the arcade cabinet is set to 54fps by default which is weird.
This method works only for UMK3 but it should work on the Costco cabinet. There is an easier way though, this video works for all three of the games on the Costco version. ruclips.net/video/bSzI86TYnR0/видео.html
The ejb menu code is ridiculously hard to do consistently. If you want to just unlock the characters and you can get the code in at least once, enable the hidden characters and just beat the other player 10 times to save your initials. That will save the hidden characters. Then if you want to change the volume just use the test menu code and repeat to save. Win 10 times and put in initials. All settings saved. Trying to do that code 3 times lol 🙄. I was lucky I got once
This worked for me. However guys if you have the cosco version it's a different set up for the test menu (different video). I did the EJB in 3 tries by writing down the cadence😂
Everyone seems to have it working but I’m the worrying type, when you say things could break if we try this, is that a low percent anything can happen sort of warning or a .. there’s been a lot of reports of people breaking their game doing this ?
I have probably had 10 reports of this happened after watching my videos. Its not that common but I'm not exactly sure. I can tell you this, the difficulty change doesn't make a huge difference. I know a lot of people have trouble with the audio and that will help fix it.
@@KillerArcadeGames oh sweet ! Thanks man for replying I really appreciate it I’m getting the legacy one hopefully soon so the difficulty one won’t matter I guess I’m mainly after the unlockable characters as sub zero is my fav but also frigin ermac!!! The guy has the force in the old games, now it some cool soul stuff but I alwyas liked how he was in the old one, like a mystic wizard ninja Has a firey explosion for a teleport, a green orb thing he fires and force powers
so I got my mortal kombat 1up last night and tried to do the code. Had trouble. The issue is that my left hand is weaker when hitting the buttons than my right hand because I'm right handed. Is it possible to just use your right hand to move from P1 to P2 really fast? Can you confirm by trying to do it with whatever hand you write with only and get back to me and let me know that you unlocked it?
It does have the two lines of stars lol. I immediately tried it on my MAME cabinet and it looks normal there. I guess they aren’t using MAME in the MK cabinet. I’ve heard people saying it’s the Moo emulator.
It seems the volume has been adjusted for the Costco bundle. No popping of the speaker even when turned to max. Have not tried the codes to see if it works but there is a newer pcb board on it. Nice video will definitely try the codes.
The EJB codes should almost certainly work. They'd have to do some serious coding to remove that. But the button/joystick combo I made a video about soon after this one apparently doesn't work. That code was put in my A1U though so they can easily remove it.
It's highly unlikely a button combo exists like this for other arcade games. But, Arcade1Up did hide a button/joystick combo that gets you into the MK menus, including MK1 to change difficulty. ruclips.net/video/lq9FO8qhSKQ/видео.html Its possible there are other ways in for these games.
You can emulate it on almost any PC and even raspberry pi now. You don't need an arcade cabinet. If you need help setting up MAME, try this video I made ruclips.net/video/7G-xB9D9bio/видео.html
You'd have to do it twice. You can't get back to the EJB menu once you go into the service menus. The other option would be to just set your settings then go play the game on two player mode until you rack up about 10 wins in a row, then let player two quit and enter your initials.
I have done this twice. Second time watching your video once again to make sure I did exactly everything you’ve done. Mine never saves I can literally turn the arcade off once and it’s all back to normal. Please help?
Also I'm glad that you pointed out the error message in the audio test it occurred to me that maybe we are getting an error because this is ported to be in Stereo but actually runs in mono?
I'm not sure on that one. I'm fairly sure the original arcade games output in mono even though they had two speakers. I'll have to try the test on my other A1U running MAME to see if it fails too.
Thank you for this video...it worked great...with the exception that I just got the Arcade 1up Legacy cabinet (No riser/no light up marquee), and when I do this code, it does not "take". Meaning it doesn't save the unlocked UMK3 characters when you power down the machine, and restart. Any ideas?
Yeah...unfortunately it doesn't save on the Legacy cabinet...no matter what you do. I can only assume they were tired of replacing their PCBs that went bad after saving this info so they stopped all saving of info.
@@KillerArcadeGames that kinda sucks. Do you see any other issues with modding this cabinet to add MK4, or other games like WarGods, etc. that use the same button pattern? Or is it just the PCB that is the issue with this saving?
Boss thanks to you ...I got the ejb menu..thanks for explaining about separating the 2player 10 blocks for 5 and 5..counting to 10 can mess u up... I never got it counting to 10 ..so thanks to u ..I got it..Thank you :-)
I'm in the early stages of planning it right now. I also need to wait until I have a little more spare cash lol. I try not to spend my everyday money on these, I keep a separate account for all of my hobbies and I've been draining it lately. The main reason for the mod would be to add MK4, I think I might try adding the Dreamcast version this time. I've never had any luck with those emulators so I've got to research a little more. I like the PC version but it doesn't run very well. The cutscenes never work right. I'd like a coin door too!
Fair warning, I got the ejb code to work for MK3 and only changed the volume to a lower setting (which worked). But the next time I went to play the game after the cabinet was off, MK3 no longer booted up as if the game was completely erased
This happens, unfortunately. I firmly believe it has nothing to do with the EJB menu. Its got to be an issue with the board that would have happened if you had reached the point of entering your initials legitimately. Hopefully you get a replacement soon.
did you follow this vid to the T I did and its flawless, even entered the same initials as he did. sorry to here that any ways. my honest opinion is that they rushed these out cause remember they had a release date time of september.
How do you adjust the difficulty settings on UMK3? It doesn't give me the option. Also, I have version 1.2. Can you only change the difficulty on the 1.4 UMK3?
Once you're in the EJB menu, you go to the CPU board test in the diagnostics menu. Run that test, when its finished you'll be in the Test menu, not the EJB menu. It will have a difficulty option in the Game Adjustment section.
For the end of the code, I only hit the P3 Block button three times and it got me in--I wonder if that extra fourth is what puts you in the diagnostic? Thanks so much for this tutorial!
Ah...Christian, I'm sorry to say but you're one of the unlucky ones. Your cabinet must have that defect that causes it to fail after entering the menu. Contact Arcade1Up support, they'll typically just send you a replacement PCB. This likely would have happened even if you didn't enter the menu. Entering your initials causes it to save which seems to cause some memory to corrupt and the game won't load anymore.
I cannot get the UMK3 code to work to save my life. Got the MK2 one. I just wanna unlock the three players that are locked. I’ve got the code down and have flown through it. Any suggestions
The only other way to do it is enter the Kombat code for each character after you die and don't continue. I don't have a video on it but you can easily find a good tutorial on RUclips. I did it once just to test it, it's not that difficult. It may be easier than the EJB menu to you.
Its very nice to be able to get in to those menus. I wish MK1 had a way to get into the difficulty settings but no one has found a way around that yet.
@@KillerArcadeGames I've been MK1 although it was hard lol Sub-Zero is the man.. I do what I could turn it down a little endurance 3 then straight to Goro is unfair

@@lokoXmage You can try, that old way was removed from a lot of 1Up releases. They put it in so removing it was easy. But they can't remove the EJB menu since its in the original game's code.

I'll hopefully have a video on it in a week or two.

can't wait to see your mods, I just got one last sunday, I'll keep checking on you. I subbed!
I been looking at getting lit MK sign or at least a MK Riser.
Thanks! I hope my marquee comes soon. I'm excited to install it and get my Killer Instinct marquee lit. I'm surprised they didn't release the MK risers now. I guess I could always just get graphics printed for it if I want it.
@@KillerArcadeGames yes I been struggling on if I wanted to buy a basic riser and get printed logo or a official mk riser , I feel the printed logo route would be more expensive. So I'll wait lol
MK1 and 2 also had their own EJB menus. do those button combos work too?
The EJB codes work on all of the games.
MK1...

MK2...
P1 (5), P2 (10), P1 (2), P2 (8), P1 (2)
MK3/UMK3...

No problem! lol
You can get both on Amazon fairly cheap Gates: amzn.to/2jJd6Wn Bat tops: amzn.to/2Y9ECyE
I can't answer the HORI question, I've never used those and don't know much about them.
Killer Instinct Set: goo.gl/E5dHJD
Mortal Kombat Set: ebay.to/2VxLWDH
I must warn you, if you decide to go that route, you must cut some of the joystick mount off.
Man, I really don’t know. I don’t play many console fighting games.
Even for non arcade cabinet user this video was good
You actually don’t need to enter initials. It keeps everything when you exit and power off.
That was not the case for me (except for MK1). Did you just buy your cabinet? I wonder if you could have gotten a newer version that saves?
Tell me why i tried to scroll up on the video but to see the rest of the screen lol
Hahaha I do the same thing. I find myself trying to pinch to zoom in on real pictures these days. I’m 35, I grew up without technology but it doesn’t take long to get that used to it!
@liquid snake but theyre just soo good
ARGH same.
lmfao .. i legit just tried to do this a couple times.. haha I blame the weed :P
You can unlock with he pre fight screen too just make sure your game saves. I had lived by one in a skating rink that always had smoke unlocked
@@KillerArcadeGames wow I never knew
@@imshaunnurse Uhh...this comment was meant for another video lol. I think RUclips messed up on that one. I was talking about CarnEvil by the way.
Thanks for being a fan! If you ever do make it out this way, me know.
I will!
Or the superior Dreamcast version, MK gold.
MK 1 is easy lol. MK 2 isn't easy but its not that bad. UMK 3 can be a bitch, but it's not impossible.
There is a slight problem when turning on freeplay, when going to your character select screen, everything will be jumbled and look weird. It doesn’t affect the game but it makes it annoying to pick a character. If you do decide to do this, you can fix it by turning freeplay off.
Hmm...thats interesting. Is this on an Arcade1Up?
Killer Arcade Games
No it is on a normal UMK3 Arcade machine.
That cabinet doesn't save for some reason. They changed something and it won't save anything, its very annoying.
followed everything you do a T and it all worked and all games still work no bricking as of yet. question I have is will it save if i unplug the cabinet? thanks again for the detailed tutorial!
If you entered your initials, it should be saved even if you shut it off or unplug it. If you haven’t seen already, I have a new video that shows you how to get into MK1’s test menu and change the difficulty and that saves too! ruclips.net/video/lq9FO8qhSKQ/видео.html
My Costco Mk 2 sound was set very low to begin with, thanks for the cool video! Now I can actually play this without getting destroyed right away.
I would have thought they would have fixed the audio for the newer version. The Costco version looks better than the one I got. My monitor sucks, I would have had to swapped but I threw away the receipt not thinking I'd need it. They won't replace it without a receipt.
Thank you for this video. Should also be noted that umk3 uses the block buttons as shown, but mk1 and mk2 I have accessed using run buttons.
It looks like they mapped those run buttons as block buttons in MK1-2. The weird thing is if you hold the run button it won’t continuously block in those games. It acts as if you pressed it once.
Nice job ma man, and an awesome video too! Keep em’ comin. Subbed 😎👍
Thanks!!
I don't have those issues because I'm good at the games. Don't be a pussy all your life.
Cool stuff. I’m subbed now
Thanks!!
My freaking hands hurt I’ve tried multiple times can’t seem to get the code in right or fast enough is it more of a speed issue or is there a certain pattern when entering?
It seems to need to be done very fast and of course, perfectly. I try to leave no gaps in the pressed when switching between hands.
Will this work on the MK Legacy Edition Arcade1up cab as well?
Yes, this method will work on anything emulating or running the arcade game's original code.
Thank you bro, this video was extremely helpful.
No problem 👍
I was messing around with the mame settings lastnight and found out that you could up the fps to 60fps and above because the arcade cabinet is set to 54fps by default which is weird.
Will this work on the newer Costco cabinet? Does setting it to very easy set it for MK1 MK2 and MK3 easy or just MK2?
I did it so much I was able to do it consistently. Its been a while, not sure if I'm still that good.
This worked for me. However guys if you have the cosco version it's a different set up for the test menu (different video). I did the EJB in 3 tries by writing down the cadence😂
Terrific video. Great job on explaining this.
Thanks Rafael!
Thanks man for replying I really appreciate it
I’m getting the legacy one hopefully soon so the difficulty one won’t matter I guess I’m mainly after the unlockable characters as sub zero is my fav but also frigin ermac!!! The guy has the force in the old games, now it some cool soul stuff but I alwyas liked how he was in the old one, like a mystic wizard ninja
Has a firey explosion for a teleport, a green orb thing he fires and force powers
I know you made this video 4 years ago but I’m not fast enough to enter the code
so I got my mortal kombat 1up last night and tried to do the code.
Do you need to enter EJB menu at the newest 30th anniversary cabinet also, if you want to unlock and save the hidden characters on the UMK3?
Does your smoke bomb fatality with the earth have lines in it as well?
I don't think I've seen it yet, I'll try it today and see. I've heard of someone else's doing it though.
It does have the two lines of stars lol. I immediately tried it on my MAME cabinet and it looks normal there. I guess they aren’t using MAME in the MK cabinet. I’ve heard people saying it’s the Moo emulator.
CAN we adjust music volume through the menu on the MK1??
Unfortunately, no. That arcade game had a physical knob that was inside the coin door.
That disclaimer is brutal.
Hey, great video! Did you mod your lcd also? Your picture looks much more clear then the one on my cabinet.
Mine is the stock monitor. The games just look better because it’s running a PC instead of the lower end stock A1U hardware.
I got in and changed the hidden characters, went back in to put my initials but it never saved it. Any more tips?
Hmm...which version of the cabinet do you have? Some people say it does same and some say it doesn't. I'm not sure which cabs don't save though.
I'd love to know how to get into a menu like this with the Final Fight Arcade1up.
Can I get this emulation for the arcade gamer pro or some other that doesn’t need a cabinet?
You can emulate it on almost any PC and even raspberry pi now. You don't need an arcade cabinet. If you need help setting up MAME, try this video I made ruclips.net/video/7G-xB9D9bio/видео.html
Umk3 is my favorite mortal kombat game
It's a great game. It's not my favorite personally but its undeniably a great game.
Is there a menu like this for the MARVEL SUPERHEROES Arcade1up?
There's not...at least nothing that's ever been found. This is probably one of the only games that has something like this.
Can you enter your initials on the first menu login or do you have to do it twice?
You'd have to do it twice. You can't get back to the EJB menu once you go into the service menus. The other option would be to just set your settings then go play the game on two player mode until you rack up about 10 wins in a row, then let player two quit and enter your initials.
I'm stressed as hell... I can't do it in my MKll A1up version, it just don't open that menu in the UMK3. I do all the stuff but I don't get it.
I have the same ultimate mortal combat ll, how do I make sonja and Jason and crew do special moves?
I have done this twice. Second time watching your video once again to make sure I did exactly everything you’ve done. Mine never saves I can literally turn the arcade off once and it’s all back to normal. Please help?
If you have the Legacy cabinet, it won't save. I've never messed with one myself but everyone has told me that cabinet doesn't save anything.
Mortal Kombat arcades is hifi mono from mk2 to umk3.. the only one could be stereo is mk1
I never got it counting to 10 ..so thanks to u ..I got it..Thank you :-)
I’m glad the tips helped!
You got one nice! I look forward to your detailed mod vid as I may get one in the future I also want to add a working coin door
@@KillerArcadeGames Same happened to me. The board is on back order for about a month. Back to MAME.
did you follow this vid to the T I did and its flawless, even entered the same initials as he did. sorry to here that any ways. my honest opinion is that they rushed these out cause remember they had a release date time of september.
@@CRIPPYMAN Yup. most likely just an issue of the machines being glorified RaspberryPi's and having an overwrite corruption.
@@KillerArcadeGames Perfect, thank you for the info, thought my version was too early for a second.
For the end of the code, I only hit the P3 Block button three times and it got me in--I wonder if that extra fourth is what puts you in the diagnostic? Thanks so much for this tutorial!
You’re right. I copied that code from a forum
And it’s wrong apparently.
So you have to do a Brutality to get into the menu? :)
Hahahah
Have you figured out how to lower the difficulty setting of the Street Fighter cabinet for SSF2T?
Soooooo......why does your cabinet say MK2? Does it have all 3 games on it or something?
It’s an Arcade1Up cabinet that comes with all 3 games. I did mod it though so it has a lot of games in it now.
I need help lol .. after turning off the cabinet umk3 won't load . The screen goes black and stays like that. Any recommendations ?
Ah...Christian, I'm sorry to say but you're one of the unlucky ones. Your cabinet must have that defect that causes it to fail after entering the menu. Contact Arcade1Up support, they'll typically just send you a replacement PCB. This likely would have happened even if you didn't enter the menu. Entering your initials causes it to save which seems to cause some memory to corrupt and the game won't load anymore.
@@KillerArcadeGames thank you I'll try !

I've been told it doesn't save no matter what people try. The Legacy cabinet is unusual for some reason.
Do you have to redo if you unplug it. And is there any other way to get the secret characters
I’m not sure. Usually it will save and it will always be there after that. Some cabinets are different depending on the version you bought

Does it work on the MK Legacy cab? Just curious
It should. It works on anything running the arcade code. All A1U machines are emulating the arcade PCB.
That's Awesome this EJB Menu can be Done on Ps3 MK classic Arcade ??
I just wonder ir
It will work. I tested it on the Xbox 360 MK Classic just to see.
is there a code to make the 1up arcade larger? right now it is Hobbit-sized.
The only code I can think of is to just buy the real thing lol. They're heavy, hard to find and typically expensive but I honestly believe there worth it if you can fit them inside. I just finished a building in my back yard to house them.
How do I do this with the one player countercade version
You can't unfortunately. You'll need a two player set up.
@@KillerArcadeGames can I still unlock them the original way
@@lokoXmage You can try, that old way was removed from a lot of 1Up releases. They put it in so removing it was easy. But they can't remove the EJB menu since its in the original game's code.
Is this something you can do on a emulation of the arcade version?
Yes, it works on Arcade1Up, MAME, real MK arcade cabinets...basically anything that's running the arcade game's code. Emulation or the real thing!
