    I'm a little confused by the 4 receptacle box connection to the HAP power supply. You showed the receptacle box being connected to the power inputs on the power supply (7:50 mark) Wouldn't you be wiring in a power cord to the AC 115v connections?

      The 4 receptacle box was just to show where the AC 115v connections would go. We do use them sometimes but we do not give out any advice on 115v electrical wiring for liability reasons.

    • @RetroactivearcadeCa
      @RetroactivearcadeCa  4 года назад +1

      NO, there would be 2 separate Jamma Harnesses, 1 for player 1 & 2 and the other for players 3 & 4. Only the XXXX Game Family boards allow for this type of setup. Regular Jamma boards like Game Elf and Pandora's box only allow for 2 player setups. The new Pandora's Box DX allows for 3 & 4 players to be played with a USB controller only.

      @@erikgarston1395 I hope I have this right. The trackball can only be used if you use the serial port that is normally used for a mouse connection in the green port only. USB connections probably won't work with a stock board. There are hacks for this to add a spinner but I wouldn't recommend it. As for the vertical games, the only thing it will do is add a letterbox of black bars on the sides during game play. There is no way around it on these boards. If you want that you would have to buy the 3 way cocktail xxxx version that is the 2475 game king board. It does this by default with a specific button sequence to change the display that also accesses a different game list of vertical games.

The same for gnd and +12v. I made myself a jamma harness, but the thing just turns on a little, then turned off, so that`s why i`m asking for your help! i damaged my cps2, theres some trace with no image at the screen now,maybe because i plugged the -5v, but maybe because of the wires issue that i asked you =(.

    My 412 in 1 game elf gamma board had been working great for 3 months. all of a sudden it boots up to game elf screen and cycles to 'No Cable' message and repeats this cycle. I tried replacing the board and the new board just stayed frozen on the game elf screen. Any ideas? I can try a new harness, but didn't know if that would make a difference.

    • @RetroactivearcadeCa
      @RetroactivearcadeCa  5 лет назад

      Check your VGA or video cable first, replace it if necessary, I would then check your power supply and confirm that it is producing exactly 12V and 5V to the Jamma Harness. If not then use the adjustment "pot" on the front to set the power output. If you cannot get the right voltage, replace the power supply. Also try and take the SD card out of the Game Elf then re-seat it back into it's slot and power back on to try that as well. Your harness will never effect the booting of your Game Elf unless it has a major short somewhere. If you are suspect of the harness try to just connect power and video to your Game Elf without the Jamma connector and boot it that way, if it loads properly you have a short in your harness, could just be a bad solder point on your power cables on the harness, use a multi meter to test it.

    After plugging the four receptacle box, where does the actual power come from? Do you need to make a new cord that goes from the box to the actual wall outlet? If so how would I go about doing this?

    • @RetroactivearcadeCa

      You would have to plug the other end of your cable from the receptacle into something like this mounted into your cabinet as a "Pass-through" and then a regular power cord goes from the wall to this. retroactivearcade.ca/emi-filter-power-switch/

    I have one of the Jamma boards, the last one in your video. It came pre-installed in the arcade cabinet that I bought from China some years ago. Anyways, my board is set up a little differently than yours, it uses a Molex type connector to power the top board. I had ordered a pandora's box 6 board, but I'm not sure how to use the power supply that came with my cabinet to power the pandora box. Do these Jamma boards, like the one I'm talking about, come with the os installed on the board, or the hard drive? I believe my hard drive died out on me, so I ended up buying 2019 in 1 hard drive, but my system is still not booting up. I get some error message, saying the third disk error failed. Please try inserting boot media, something like that. The guy I bought 2019 in 1 hard drive from said, that I bought the wrong hard drive, that it had to be 2100 in 1 version, which is the one that came with my system, is this true? Or is my board messed up? I'm able to get in the bios for the board, but like I said, I cannot get the system to boot up into the games menu.

    • @RetroactivearcadeCa
      @RetroactivearcadeCa  6 лет назад

      Hi, if this is true that you originally had a 2100 Games Family board then yes you have to buy a 2100 drive for it again to make it work. Those specific Jamma boards are quad core that was only used for the 2100 that uses windows ME/Vista I believe. The one you bought (2019) will work on any of the other blue Games Family boards and uses windows NT that uses the older style board and chip-set. Unfortunately if you want to use this board you are locked into the 2100 game list.
