    Excellent video. Quick question, the Coin wire (16- Green) terminates to a white plastic connector and not a single wire to connect to a Coin button with a microswitch? Is there a different button used for credits? Thanks so much

    Just a small point on your mains in connection to the power supply. You have used different colour crimp lugs to match the colour of your cable core. The colour of the lug is determined by the conductor size. I.e. Red- 0.5 to 1.5mm, Blue 1.6 to 2.5mm and Yellow 2.6 to 6mm. Your conductor size is .75mm2 so all three crimp lugs should be Red.

    Is there a way to connect your monitor to the power supply? Can you connect a monitor to either the power supply, or Jamma harness? I am asking, because I am trying to build an arcade cabinet. Or, does the monitor need to be power on through an outside power source?

  • @aliyafai4246
    @aliyafai4246 6 лет назад

    So youve got power supply cable.then you have to also plug in monitor..is there away where it will run off one plug.instead of both.in other words.like an original gaming table..cheers all

    Im curious as to the volume of the speaker from the Loom or if an amplifier is recommended.. Also, about rotating the monitor 90 degrees..

    • @TheMasterofNone2024
      @TheMasterofNone2024  8 лет назад

      The Boards have a internal amplifier so you can connect the speaker wires on the loom directly to the speakers.
      There's no need to rotate the monitor as the 619 boards play vertically, the smaller 412 boards need to be vertical.

    This video helped me a lot! I do have a querie though. Ive seen some setups (and old arcades) that have current filters fitted. So you have the plug socket that connects to the mains then the wires from the plug connect to a current filter and to a fuse. Then that connects to this power supply. What is this setup for? Thanks

    i have a wei-ya cv04 cga to video converter connected to my jamma harness connected to an ntsc TV. it works fine when I plug my neogeo mvs to the jamma harness, but when I plug the PB4 into it the video isn't syncing. Getting black and white only and the video is tearing. I vaguely remember reading something about some boards needing jumpering sync pins on the jamma connector or something. Any ideas?

    Great video friend ... Very accurate and very explanatory! Thank you for making it available ... I would like a little information: Would you have any link to provide me with some scheme of the Jamma whip? I have already searched in several places and can not find ... If I have a PDF schema link I would be very grateful. In the most great video, and always keep bringing the learning of the 80's and 90's to the present day =).

    I know your board isn't a pandora's box, but do you know if those have molex pin connectors for powering? I see many ads say they do but don't see the connection port on the pictures. I have a perfectly good PSU I would rather use than have to buy an arcade power supply and solder! Any idea?

    hi, can I ask a quick question,
    the cart/board shown street fighter etc, is the loom responsible for buttons 4,5,6?
    I was of the impression it needed a kick board for those?
    just wandering as I have a gun game board and USB arcade sticks for my Mame setup, just wanted to see how it differs compared to a multi game.
    thanks for this video, quite useful in your explaining
    oh, one final question, have u had any experience with a Pandora's box version?
    thinking of Molex power etc

    • @TheMasterofNone2024
      @TheMasterofNone2024  8 лет назад

      The loom used here has connections for all 6 buttons.
      I've only ever used the 619 boards as the pandora boards tend to have too many beat em ups as apposed to the better range of games on these boards.

    Stupid question: Is it harmful to connect the -5V to the jamma power supply if the board doesn't need it. Could you just connect it anyways?

    • @ThisOldSkater
      @ThisOldSkater 8 лет назад

      I don't know myself, but I look at it this way; you can do something and hope or nothing and know for sure. I say take the path of least resistance.

    • @notjux
      @notjux 8 лет назад

      ***** If anything, it seems like leaving it loose is a bad idea. If it gets knocked around and bridges two of the other leads, that could be short city.

      You can use the Jamma diagram to follow the wires down the loom so you wouldn't need to rely on the colours.
      As long as the power wires are installed you can put the board into its setup mode and wire it as you go.
      You'll then be able to check the wiring, when you press a button or move the joystick the corresponding button / movement will be highlighted on the screen so you can verify that its wired correctly.

      You actually see this in a lot of machines once you pop the lid. In that light this is a PSU intended to be built into a cab, if you decide to have it sitting on your desk with leads exposed then that's your call really.

    • @sealslayer
      @sealslayer 8 лет назад +1

      +neontetra1000 Most arcade machines have a power supply like that, its not intended to be on display but tucked away safely inside the machine.
