  • Secrets of Speed for the Toyota GR Yaris (GRY) and GR Corolla (GRC) Differential topic: what are the aftermarket options, how do they work and what are the benefits?
    Syvecs AWD controller (TCU) is also something not to overlook, with a bit of help from ACME Racing.
    Focus on GR Yaris Gearbox options: full stock, Cusco short final ratios on OEM box or full Sequential gearbox? And Power s naturally also tied to it, so I will share some considerations... Enjoy!
    Please note that all this information applies also to GR Corolla.

    I run ATS Carbon LSDs 1.5way F/R at 35kg/m preload. They are amazing 👌🏽

      Thankyou for that information: could you please detail the feedback from drivers perspective for us? ATS Carbon are very good products, I used to run thier clutch kit on my Evo

      @AJClubsport high initial torque provides great response and adjustment even mid-corner. Does not impact understeer even at relatively high preload and has increased the already high confidence in wet conditions. Only down side is limited oil choice and short service intervals to ensure propper function.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      Thankyou for that! Do you have contacts at ATS you can share privately ?
      How long are the service intervals?

      @@AJClubsport Watched the video from 5M ago, and one 2Y ago, no real detail on Dump pipes or Sport Cats other than you were fitting an HJS. Is there one I have missed? I already have an HKS Legamax Premium cat back fitted, so looking at options for the front piece from Turbo back. Thanks.

      For me the HJS is the best option as it is the most reliable kat builder, only certified by FIA. If you wish to discuss more detail, please send me an email and I will try to help.

    Hi Adriano,
    Input a lot. I like your channel. Yeah, what can I say. The HJS Downpipe works pretty well and powerful. 340 Horsepower and boost up to 1,7 bar is working. ECE Streetlegal in Germany. What we miss and what we need, but nobody produce is a street legal ECE Tuning OPF/ GPF. The GR Community is able to pay, we want, we must drive street legal. OPF/ GPF in Stanley, better in Titan or Incontinell. 1000 or 2000 Euro. We want to have, but no company produce. What the fuck Milltek, Akrapovic, - the best exhaust producers we know, everybody is lazy. Not only 1 full system ECE Konform is on the market. Maybe you can find out what's the reason.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад +1

      Thankyou for your informed message mate! The problem is that GR volumes are small, this is why producers, especially the large ones, are so lazy about it!

    • @Altesego1
      @Altesego1 Месяц назад

      This would indeed be great! I think without the Opf it would instantly make 15 hp more, without changing anything else, at least that’s what can be seen with the versions in non opf countries. Of course the sound would also benefit 😄

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      Yes mate, when we took the OPF off we saw about 10bhp and a good reduction in fuel consumption!

    • @holgerstoll4682
      @holgerstoll4682 Месяц назад +1

      Priority 1 is change the downpipe. HJS testet the restriction and changed from 700 or 800 Cell in an catalyser 300 Zell. 10 HP and better Tourque. HJS told me, they have testet also the flow reduction of the OPF/ GPF. On the bench for make it better, 2 or 3 HP with a tuning OPF. That's the reason why they say no production. Maybe Adriano has some friends can check the flow for find out is it the truth

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      @holgerstoll4682 thankyou Holger, that makes all the sense, since totally replacing the OPF makes 8-10hp, a better performance unit must make 2-3, while still filtering. HJS had told me directly that their Kat, on the other hand, is a 400cell unit. To me it is still unclear if a car would pass an Euro6D emissions test with their Kat installed and stock OPF

    Hey Adriano, congrats to the +5000 Subscribers!
    I hope you reach your +10000 Subscribers very soon, your content is the best & very informative. You deserve it!
    Quick question: Will you go a little bit more into the depth of the Cusco LSD's, once you finished doing your research?
    With cusco LSD's for the GR Yaris, I have found that you also buy a LSD that has 8-10K initial Torque or 2-4k or 3-5k and this is very confusing. :(
    On top of that there is also 55/20 Cam or 55/55 cam which is also another very confusing aspect.
    Sadly this topic is very confusing and hard too look through.
    Your guidance would be very appreciated!
    I wish you a wonderful upcoming weekend :)

    As all have said AJ , congratulations on 5k subs, well deserved 👍.
    Great info on the diffs and controllers available, I've no experience on 4 wheel drive, but on my comp cars 205 Gti and 172 Cup I've used Quaife and Gripper LSD's who are UK based, with this car I'd only replace the Torsens when needed, had a look on the Wavetrac
    site and these would be my choice, looked at these years ago but couldn't commit, they do recommend Motul oils only to retain the lifetime warranty, and they have a UK dealer.
    Looking forewards to the indepth update for the syvecs 4 wheel drive
    controller, will it be plug and play ?
    Regards Russ ..

    Great video! Very informative on a bunch of topics. I wanted to ask about 2 Way LSD. I am currently considering upgrading rear diff (together with a little bit of engine work, and ECU swap) and I was recommended to get a 2 way LSD at the rear. What are the downsides of having full engagement when there is no load applied to the diff? It should help in the middle of the corner or when braking into the corner, right? AFAIU it will still allow for the rear wheels to spin at different speeds at low speed (e.g. in a parking lot) because of the preload.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  26 дней назад +1

      Hello, thankyou for your kind words!
      A 2-way differential upon deceleration acts in equalling the speed of the wheels on that axle. In turn, this brings massive understeer. It is only used in very few applications where this is needed to correct an unbalanced behaviour pf a car.
      For GR Yaris the best solution is a 1.5way differential.

    Hi Adriano,
    Congratulations for your 5000+ subscribers!!!🎉🎉, I know you will reach 10,000 subscribers very quickly.
    I'd like to know, what you think about Quaffie diffs, they are very reputable but thier configuration is like a torsen, at the moment I have open diffs, I see them like an option instead of LSD, because they convenniece(cost, noise and maintenance). Besides of not receiving the option of the torsen diffs in my market, we don't get OPF, we get a catalyzer instead, so I think change the downpipe for one catless and I don't know if a repro can remove the CEL related to that or add a sensor "cheater" right after the downpipe to avoid the CEL , because in my country the emissions restrictions are not as strict as in the European ones, or will be better going for a catless midpipe that not jump any CEL and install a catted high flow downpipe?. Thank you for your time and congratulations again on reaching 5,000 subscribers.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад +1

      Hello Jorge and thankyou!
      About the LSD, quaife is like the stock ones, I would never pay to install them.
      The OSGinken work well and are totally silent, so probably this could be your option.
      If you remove the kat/downpipe, you will 100% get a CEL light, even with a cheater. You can install an EcuTeck remap, now they also offer remote tuning, try contacting their distribution ACME racing in Italy, they will hook you up!
      Hope this helps 💪🏼 have a great day!

    Well done, come on all, comment/subscribe, let's get it beyond 10k. Thoughts on future videos maybe. The Syvecs AWD Controller that I saw in ACME's recce car video. What about Drexler LSDs. They are a reputable European company that does wonders with BMW race cars. Finally, 370-380hp with a bulletproof/forged engine + upgraded turbo. For the occasional recce type, arrive and drive to the track gentleman driver's toy. That is what I like. And seats, my/your favourite bucket seats. Again, sorry all, that was a long one. For the algorithm.
