  • GAME OVER for BOS Suspension with AJClubsport and this isn't click bait!
    Today the last drop was spilled, when a subscriber received a new kit that not only was missing some parts, but was also the old revision. After waiting for four months, instead of two...
    It has been a very rough ride for me with BOS Suspension, and I had already decided to silently drop support, but I can not let You, my friend, alone without knowing. In the end, this is what AJClubsport is all about!

    We are lucky in Australia as we have access to MCA suspension that sells custom suspension, you pick your own spring rates front and rear and importantly custom hydraulic valving, for a very reasonable price, much cheaper than Ohlins or KW, so you can tune the suspension to work well at your desired ride height and road surface. Of coarse MCA will adjust the settings for you if you are unsure, just tell them what you plan on doing with the suspension.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад +2

      Yes, MCA can do some good things, but they only get to a certain level: I’m talking of world class results here!

      @bcm70 Месяц назад +1

      @@AJClubsport They're not on the world stage in rallying but cars running their Gold series have won Australian Rally Championships in the past. Their service is second to none. They also recently extended their warranty which covers both road and track use to 5 years if you buy their shock shields. That includes one free rebuild once per 12 months per unit in the first 3 years. Lots of serious time attack cars like Lamspeed's GR Yaris are running MCA as well. For the average punter they are good value, well performing coilovers that have excellent after sales service.

    Thank you so much for this update on BOS. Really really appreciate your honesty. Don't worry, everybody can make mistakes and be "fooled" especially when you have already invested a certain amount of money and that you are passionate & really involved about something. BOS is going to lose a lot of potential clients. I will post a link of your video on the Gazoo Forum just to avoid anybody having issues with these BOS kits. It's a real pity, and being French, living not too far from their company... so disappointing.
    So that's that. I will stick to the OEM "Track pack" suspension for the meantime, got used to it and it's behavior. I actually even like the way it absorbs at "high" speed B-road blasting. I only dislike it's low speed harshness and lack of absorption.
    Remember when I asked you some advice about BOS suspension Road kit, you said to me to wait, there was an updated version in association with AJClubsport coming up soon. I was really quite motivated to buy a kit from them. And still planning to do so until yesterday your video came out. Thanks once again for the heads-up, you avoided me a lot of trouble.

    Very sad to hear how the BOS Partnership was going, especially for all the money that has been spent on your side to make it possible. I dont want to imagine how much that must have cost.
    I can understand your frustration.
    Hoping for the best on your next project!
    I myself am in the process of getting my own GR Yaris (used, 1000km, arrived april 2024) and am researching for hours on the best first mods to do on it, your channel is helping a ton.
    I consider myself a clubsporter like your definition and im trying to make it OEM+. It already has the Milltek exhaust, paint protection in the front, and the Pipercross Induction Kit. I will give it a go as is, then maybe do some stiffening with cusco struts, small mud flaps in the front to keep the sides safe. Also an oil cooler and will try to get rid of the fake engine noise and speed limiter.
    Then a cheap but light set of wheels with 225-245 width and TÜV for better gripping tyres, your proposed Cup2's. The BBS will get snow tyres after the PS4S are toast just to have a little fun when it snows :)
    Wish you the best, thank you for your strong support for the GR Yaris community!

      Hello Jeppe, thankyou for sharing!
      Yes, I precisely understand your point and dissatisfaction: I can tell you that if you have a couple months more patience, I am currently developing 3 new kits with Rally characteristics - thru a partnership with a Suspension brand that has won 9 WRC titles!
      The three kits are:
      - 1-way
      - 4-way tarmac, with hydraulic bump stops
      - 4-way gravel, with hydraulic bump stops
      This time, I am overseeing the complete development, and the kits will not see the market till I am totally satisfied.

      Hai praticamente detto che ha solo rogne e l’azienda non è seria per niente, servizio e post vendita pessimo, rimane un kit che da grattacapi e non “user friendly” come può essere un road & track o un B16, ció non ha il minimo senso su un’auto stradale. Non comprerei mai un prodotto del genere con tutto il suo “sfortunato” contorno, non ho una scuderia che mi smonta e mi rimonta l’auto ad ogni trackday, deve funzionare e non darmi problemi.

      Io sto parlando di come funziona l’assetto, di cone assorbe le buche mentre vai al massimo, di come funziona in condizioni di scarsa aderenza, ecc. per un uso stradale voltato ai rally a 360*.
      Ho lavorato duro dietro a questa gente dietro a mille promesse, ed ho fatto quel che ho potuto finché non e’ stato evidente che non abbiano adottato l’evoluzione per i nuovi clienti, a quel punto mi dissocio.

    I don’t think this video leaves you in a good position. You knew all these issues of BOS during you partnership with them and it’s not until now (when you have stopped getting financial incentives) you make them public. I am so very happy I did not follow your (biased, very biased) advice and did not buy BOS. I am sorry for others that did, though, when you knew (and were marketing in favour) of a faulty product.
    I just can’t think of how people with follow your recommendations from now on, because everyone is going to think that any brand you recommend on here is paying you to say the nice things of the products while avoiding the bad ones.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      Hello,
      I don’t think you have seen the whole video or understood it if you have: I GOT NO FINANCIAL INCENTIVES. The problems were only for the most demanding of drivers, and I’ve been held in a weekly loop of calls and emails for two years to make it better and develop a second kit that would had been 3 way but less expensive.
      So this leaves me in the honest position of having done right, as I couldn’t just throw shit on something that does work while they are (or said) working on making it better for free and all.
      If you work yourself, you should understand

    • @CDM33333
      @CDM33333 Месяц назад +1

      @@AJClubsportcome on mate, you say in the video you got your kit on a REDUCED price in exchange of marketing cooperation. Why on earth are you saying now you don’t have financial incentives? The moment you pay less than retail price for something in exchange marketing work, in any product, YOU ARE GETTING financial incentives… are we crazy or what?

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      @CDM33333 tone it down: you wrote “untill you were getting financial incentives” that means that someone pays you in time for something. This is NOT the case. I just received a discount for the product upon purchase, and put all my work and testing to try and make it the best on the market (at that price point), almost achieved with the revised version. The problem here is that the company didn’t hold its word in giving the revised product to customers, plus long waiting times and poor customer service, that are the points that led me to take a step away.
      Everything that I do is transparent, and I only select the best of the best to cooperate with, but unfortunately I don’t have a crystal ball and shit happens when you work.

      AJ really appreciate the channel and information. However on this one I also don't understand how you could recommend a suspension despite knowing it has major issues? The ones that followed your advice now spent a lot of money on an inferior product.

    • @AJClubsport
      @AJClubsport  Месяц назад

      We are not talking about major issues mate, we are talking of making the best possible suspension kit for the money.
      The big point is about BOS not implementing the evolution I worked so hard on and the bad support.
      If you compare the basic BOS version with a PSS10 or R&T, and I have done it back to back, there is no comparison.
      Therefore i may have expressed myself in the wrong way, sorry for that.
      At the time it was the best kit out there and I didn’t know about the support issues, as I was lied to: they told me that they had sent springs of the wrong lenght, and many other things that were believable.
      People think I make money out of this, the reality is I spend a huge amount, even before counting the time and effort.

    Ciao, come probabilmente saprai in Italia la
    Maggior parte di chi ha modificato l’assetto ha montato gli olhins road track e sono stati quasi tutti montati da Pierluigi Bocchio, ora io non sono un esperto ma su quelli venduti non ho sentito lamentele ( e sicuramente ci sarà anche chi se ne intende più di me).come ti sarai accorto e’ molto pericoloso promuovere un solo marchio invece di fare una prova comparativa ma apprezzo il fatto di dichiararlo e metterci la faccia.
    Io essendo appassionato ,ma non me ne intendo ,ho fatto le modifiche sulla mia gr principalmente raccogliendo le varie opinioni sui social ed ho messo olhins .(+ eventuri, CAE,DTUK,e Yoko A052)
