I’m pretty sure this image is on the box art of a vehicular combat game called “Star Wars The Clone Wars” made for the original xbox and gamecube. And I’m decently sure this is in a few of the ship detail books that came out in the mid 2000s that shows the ship details in images and explains how things in the ships work. I could be completely wrong but these are just some core memories of mine from my days as a kid
They've gotten incorrect details off google before, I can't remember which set it was but I know Jang mentioned it in a video. Wouldn't put it past them to get photos off google too.
I don't really see why it would matter if it's from the movie or not. The shot on the box looks better than the shot in the movie. I'd rather have a shot that shows how it's "supposed" to look.
It's an official render. Lucasfilm made a few renders like this back around the time AOTC released. There's also pretty well-known renders of the LAAT and the AT-TE respectively.
It was created as a desktop wallpaper. I remember finding it online nearly 23 years ago! It's one of my favourite backgrounds.
I would argue it was just an image done by Lucasfilm to be used as a wallpaper to promote AotC.
The model isn't from AotC either - that fleet livery doesn't appear until we see it on Venators in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series.
Idk that art seems obviously legit
It’s just a promotional image from Aotc

This is fascinating! I had the same thought

Thats not really the question: The question is whether they got an "official" image or whether they just copied the first result from google.
@@arrun5125It's official. This render was created by Lucasfilm.
What a nothing burger. The toy company is using- le gasp!- promotional images from twenty years ago?
It wouldn't be the first time that star wars used unofficial models/art either knowingly or unknowingly

@CloneCommanderCrater1102 figured it probably was, just wanted to point out that star wars has a history of using fan assets
