I knew it would be overpriced, but there's no way it was going to cost $40 either. Had it come out in 2024, it could've possibly been $45. It looked like a perfect build from the promotional images, aside from the size, which I got over. Its definitely a must buy for me, but Ill happily wait for a deep discount. I think Lego is testing the customers on how much they can get away with for this set line, which I assume is doing well for them in sales. I dont think we'll see this type of behavior again, unless this set has already sold well, which I doubt. Quite possibly $50 will be the base line for any future sets, theyll just have more pieces to accompany that price, similar to the Invisible Hand.
Giving us 2 phase 1 clones would make this worth it to me. I happen to have 4500+ insider points to burn right now cause I picked up the Venator, which brings the price down to 17$ for me. Even with that, 50 is too high. I'll likely end up using those points for something else. Which is a shame cause putting this next to the Venator would be amazing, despite the scale difference.
It's becoming increasingly annoying when every single lego review has a negative note ruminating over the entire length of the video instead of just addressing the quality and price separately. You said yourself that it was an excellent build but even if you mean that it's really hard to believe you when every 15 seconds you go back to "this is overpriced. It should have been $40. Do not buy this set". And I know half the people are going to try to strawman me into oblivion, saying that I said "you shouldn't complain about the price, you should just buy more lego star wars blindly and never question a big corporation!!" All I'm saying is that you, and every other lego youtuber, should compartmentalize the build quality from the value. Go off on how awful the price is in its own section, but it's so frustrating when that's basically the whole video and commentary on the actual build is secondary to it. Please take this criticism as an opportunity to improve, not as a personal attack to deflect.
This. This is the whole reason I stopped watching MandR and started watching this guy because I couldn't deal with the toxicity from him. SolidBricks feels like the only fair person judging Lego Star Wars these days.
damn what a prize people! We shouldn’t forget reality. What else could we get for 50$ AND we all know the production prize of a set like this is less than 5-6$
Average cost to manufacture a piece is around 1/10th of a cent, so yeah, 5-6$ after brick production, instructions and packaging would be pretty accurate. There are shipping costs to send packages out to distributors, but unless it's an official Lego store, places like Walmart or other sellers typically cover that cost, not Lego themselves.
Honestly guys I will still buy it heck I know it’s a little expensive but I’ve come to expect this from not just Lego but any place general thinks you used be cheaper but adjust to inflation it’s roughly the same soooooo ima buy it bc I love the acclamator 😜
You talk as if this set will never go on sale. If it’s a desirable set from the clone wars people are still going to buy it they’ll just be smart about when to purchase it.
the price wasnt actually that overpriced. price per piece average of $0.10 actually puts it at around 45 dollars, but then the set has lots of rare angled pieces. also, everything was printed which was a big suprise to me. also, the invisible hand isn't at the same scale as the acclamator. acclamator is 1:3400 and the invisible hand is 1:3600. (last time i checked, im not the best at math.)
The price is the biggest downside of Legos products, and its a very very big downside. Lego acts like a premium, high quality brand, wich it is not these days. Its sad to say but nowadays the competition is just better when it comes to quality and price, but its just called "Fake Lego"... Stop buying new Lego so Lego has to change and actually gets better again...
Dude 90% of Star Wars ships are (for the most part) grey. Choose another franchise if that is boring for you. It’s not like LEGO is going out of their way to make them grey! Should they also do OTHER ships, including some that aren’t grey? Yes! Give it time.
lego keeps shrinking their sets and raising prices. it's funny how they came up with "mini scale" figures so that the shrinking and overpricing can be approved, and lego fans consume it
Ngl you’ve become my favorite lego star wars RUclipsr recently keep it up
he's the goat
my favorite midiscale set so far
If midi-scale had two exclusive figures it would be one of the greatest set lines to ever exist. Even micofighters have figures
The Acclamator will always make me think back to that mission in republic commando
I just recently picked it up the other day I like how it looks
This set is on my buying list
I love the Acclamator and it will pair nicely with my Midi Venator MOC. Definitely overpriced but I can't pass on this on this one.

I don't know why, but I like this one the best out of all the newer midi-scale sets.

Love the vids!
I was hoping for a midi-scale venator to pair with my invisible hand... Instead we got an overpriced acclamator...
Imagine they included a minifigure and alternate instructions to turn these into "midi-fighters"

Just wait 2-3 months and it will be 15-30% off on Amazon. Never buy day one if you’re a collector who doesn’t like to throw money at LEGO

It’s EXTREMELY overpriced, it’s a cool ship that Lego has really ignored for 2 decades now but I can’t justify paying anything over 35 dollars for it
Which Lego set isn’t overpriced at this point?
Agree

To small to expensive no minifig, pass
I think a unicorn throw up into that set 🦄

Lucky you a gift from the president himself
Trump wouldn’t gift such a left wing game that promotes anti police messages
