I’ve got a newfound appreciation for the 2021 Slave 1 cos as far as I can tell it scales really nice with the midi-scale falcon from this year so they look very nice on the shelf together.
I think the battlefront 2 republic tank came out in DLC in 2019, two years after the lego model. That makes it WAY weirder that they happen to look so much alike.
Most of these were just downsize of the last model which isn't so bad considering most of the Lego fans don't want to spend their whole bank account just for one (yet awesome) set
I don't understand why people like any version of the sandcrawler tbh. It's a hideous chunk of brown and tan bricks on tracks, I can't see the appeal at all when there are some actual cool-looking ships in Lego Star Wars.
I really agree, that sandcrawler for me was never an interesting vehicle in Star Wars, and just a giant brown tank, maybe the lego version can still catch the attention of consumers
@@fynii9478 Nah, the MTT has that sleek prequel look. It also has a rack for battle droids, AND an armored cockpit, AND guns. The sandcrawler doesn't have ANY of those things. Also, MTTs played a reasonably significant role in TPM as well as other media. Sandcrawlers have only contributed significantly to the story in (a) The Mandalorian and (b) the Lego Star Wars games. They're really just background vehicles.
I agree so much with the sailbarge take, I have the 2013 one, and even I am willing to admit the 2007 (I think) one looks so much better. The build is better, but the sarlaacc pit is lacking, but even then the barge makes up for it. If the older one had better figs it’d be legendary.

I have the 2018 Sandcrawler, 2021 Imperial Shittle and the 2020 AAT, and I do like them, especially the Sandcrawler. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had older versions of these sets, aside from the AAT as I have the 2015 one, but I do still think they’re ok.
2018 Sandcrawler is great! Half the price of the UCS one and has a better interior. It looks good, has great playability, rare (and valuable) droids, and doesn’t take up an entire room to store
Trade Federation MTT got downsized Imperial Landing Craft looks good, but the "interior", minifigures, and lack of functions sucks. The current clone swamp speeder battlepack is alright with trash figs, but the 2014 swamp speeder is so much better, and the minifigures are a 10 / 10
What about a best remake video? Some sets I can think of are the 2022 at-te and the 2019 Kylo Ren’s shuttle. Maybe the 2020 landspeeder as well (not the 2022 ucs one.) And maybe even the 2020 at-at. The 2007 mtt (2007 mtt isn’t the first mtt. 7184 is an older model.) 2013 republic gunship. That’s about what I can think of. I would also include the first order at-st on this list as it is technically a remake of the at-st (yes it might be from a different trilogy but it’s still an at-st so I would include it.)
Hot take…..I like the 2024 Tie Fighter NOW STICK WITH ME THE 2018 IS THE BEST TIE FIGHTER OTHER THEN THE UCS TIE but the new one is more accurate then any of the ties with the smaller window and the size is practically minifig scale but I wish it had the printed hatch.

That was a lot of money for a ship with just one pilot and no interior. Making it smaller makes it so much more accessible to kids and collectors alike.
