On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago IL on 9-17-19.
We're looking at a 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible in Charcoal Paint. The car comes with the factory 347 Cubic Inch V8 Fuel Injected engine.
The car's Owner is Ken Nagel. Ken’s had this car since 2008. Mario & Jay are sharing details of the car in Ken’s absence and this car looks “showroom” new.
If you'd like to see this car on Ken's website here is the link kennagelclassi...
ENJOY!
I’ve commented something like this before, but the style of 1950s cars just amazes me! The lines, the details and chrome accents, the details and design of the interiors; they were just breathtaking. And I’m young, just 22, but I am in love with them. I even have a book detailing every model year of the decade.

Just how cool it must have been to live in the 50's so many cool cars to choose from.
Pretty cool designs for sure :-)
Lou , one of my favorite things about your videos is your enthusiasm for vintage cars . It’s nice to know others share my obsession Lol
Hi Chris, Happy to read my FUN is coming out :-) You're on the right Channel! Please remember to watch the commercials at the beginning of the video (or at least the ones you can), as that's how I get paid so I can keep sharing with you :-) Lou
I love the respect you show to every car.
Now remembering that respect is "to value and admire the achievements of a person".
Wow what a masterpiece.
You can really appreciate and feel the hunger applied to every single detail of the car.
If i close my eyes I can almost feel the quality of the fit and finish of the vehicle, and the thickness of the brochure's pages.
Gosh! I can almost smell it!
Happy to read you're enjoying the Channel and glad you're along for the ride :-)
Boy oh boy...the 50's produced the finest looking Automobiles. It's a shame we don't produce the way we use to. Thanks for sharing Lou. She's a beauty!!!!

Hi John Runion, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your neighbors car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Lou

Hi RAYMOND, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this Pontiac :-) You're welcome, Lou
Spectacular! Such a reverberating wow effect. I think ALL cars should have that charcoal tone, looks amazing.
High praise :-)
It's amazing the quality built into this 57 Pontiac, it's a piece of history. That fuel injection system has to be mechanical. Thanks Lou.
Hi Marten, Happy to read you enjoy this rare treat with me :-) You're welcome, Lou
I was fortunate enough to see a black 2 door hardtop with factory fuel injection at a show about 5 years ago. I haven't seen another one since. Great video Lou love watching your channel.
Hi PlymouthDuster 225, Happy to read you were able to see one :-) Lou
WHAT WORK. ..WHAT A GRILL
FUEL INJECTION? WAOW !!!
All the bells and whistles :-)
'57 Bonneville's 630 units built was NOT "1 for every dealer" as is commonly repeated, but limited to ONLY 1 per dealer. Not every dealer got one; there were multiple thousands of Pontiac dealers in the 50s.

Gorgeous Pontiac Lou ! Love the color and the Injection is just the icing on the cake... Thanks ! Rudy
Hi Rudy, High praise for this Bonneville :-) You're welcome, Lou
Amazing that back in those days all new sheet metal, etc was changed EVERY YEAR with those old production processes, and now you get the same ol stuff for 5-7 years.
Hi Darrell, 1957 was a different time with different values, Lou
I am definitely happy to be along for the ride!
Thanks Lou!
Glad you're enjoying the episodes with me Jeff :-) You're welcome, Lou
Definitely the best pre-GTO Pontiac!
High praise :-)
You said it Lou,, "Glorious" the best description of this one 👏👏👏 , thanks for sharing and as always "Howdy"
Hi Greg from TX, High praise for this car :-) Lou
This Pontiac was at the same level of quality and extras than a Cadillac!
This car is a fantastic piece of American iron and American pride in design back in the day!
The owners manual showed that most of the car owners understood machines, that was neat, I would love to see manuals like that in todays cars!
Hi Pablo Cespedes, Happy to read you enjoy this car & episode :-) Lou
A "brand new" Pontiac. Like time travel. Thank you!
My pleasure sharing this one with you :-)
Aah a nice sound to hear on a snowy February day...
:-)
What an absolute stunner !!, Thanks for the vid Lou, now if you could find a 63 Bonneville 👍👍
Hi GaztheK's Modelworx
, Happy to read you find this one to be a "stunner !!" :-) I'll keep on the look out for a 63 Bonny, Lou
Hello, Lou! Once, again, we are lucky to have you sharing your passion. I wanted to compliment your technique that I will now steal from you. Meditate Shot. You allow those paused views so that we can stare (drool) , appreciate "the look". Thank you, so much! Best wishes and continued enjoyment of what you do. 👍🙏🇺🇸
Hi StuckInMyGarage, My pleasure sharing with you :-) Lou
Hi Mario, it is really nice to see you face here in the video. It has been great communicating with you.
:-)
Neighbors up the street had a 55' Pontiac. An older couple. It was a stodgy old folks looking pontiac for an old couple. I never liked pontiac styling until around 62 or 63'. Still a long way from driving age though. By the mid 60s Pontiac styling was sharp. A friends father had a brand new 66' Bonneville when we were in elementary school. Beautiful.
Hi Nicky, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Neighbors up the street's car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Outstanding Lou, nicely done!
Hi Paul, High praise :-) Thanks, Lou

It Reminds Me of My Dad's 53 Buick Special He Had When I Was a Child . Same Color Scheme . Great Car, Simply, Immaculate !
Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dad's car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
That colour would look fresh on a new car. I remember fuel injection being a big deal 30 years after this car, must’ve turned as meany heads in 57 as it does now.
Hi bdb studio, Happy to read this one is a head turner, then, and now :-) Lou
very classy, olds and Buick as well. thanks LOU!!!
My pleasure jeff :-)
The car is amazing the brochure is fascinating I love how bright colors sold things then ,you need atleast a Camaro to have good color nowadays
Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-)
Pontiac always had the most beautiful front ends hands down!
Happy to read you appreciate the design of the Pontiacs :-)
What a beautiful car. This is about the year I started paying attention to cars and the yearly changes. My folks always had Pontiacs.
Hi Stephen, Happy to read your Folks had Pontiacs, and you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou

Hi Richard Pasquale, Happy to read this car brings back memories :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
That car is a thing of beauty.
Nice :-)
These 1957 Pontiac Bonneville's were all custom made for the dealers only, since I have enjoyed antique cars now for 60 some years I have never ever at all the car shows I have been to including the biggest Hershey Antique Car Show in the world since the 60's have seen one of these. Production Bonneville's only started in 1958 so this is a BIG surprise for me to see. WOW!!!!
Hi Terry Strahl, High praise for this car :-) Lou
Wow....fuel injection on a 1957 Pontiac....who knew? Beautiful car..great color.
Hi Randy, Happy to receive a "Wow" from you :-) Lou
Spectacular, indeed. First year for Bonneville, if I'm not mistaken. The first year of updating Pontiac's image. And I'm guessing the first year of the foot-operated parking brake?
Happy to read you this this car is "Spectacular, indeed." :-)
WOW the cars of the 50's were really gorgeous works of art like this one and like the 1958 Buick Skylark and many others.
Happy to receive a "WOW" from you :-)
Another REMARKABLE car of the 50s. SHINING 'Metallica' dashboard, BRILLIANT! Car of the 50s are also AWESOME! and BEAUTIFUL! Another pride of GM - PONTIAC!
Hi Vern, High praise :-) Lou
At the opening driving this beauty driving into view, I half expected and wanted to hear Elton John's "Rocket Man" song start up. Way kewl wheeled rocket looking machine. I love it!
Hi ImTheDaveman, Happy to read you "love it!" :-) Lou
Great job Lou this time you outdid yourself I have never seen a 57 Pontiac Bonneville convertible I have seen a hardtop but it was not fuel injected and I have never seen one with a razor as a option .
High praise for this episode :-)
Magnificent.
Glad you enjoy this car Simon :-)
just simply stunning!!! notice that the dash clock wasn't running- I had a 1960 Buick Electra 225 and it had an "Electric" clock that really the only electric part of was the mainspring winder was powered by the vehicle and everything else about the clock was mechanical. It seemed like that was pretty "new" for 1960. I wonder when GM started with it
High praise for this car :-)
Fine machine!! Oh how far we have fallen!! God bless our nation!!!
Hi Scotty Jones, This is why I share them, so we can remember, Lou

FABULOUS 👌!
Nice !
For those who see a resemblance to the Chevrolet's it's by purpose. Pontiac had to share above the belt line to save on production cost. Things like the windshield , door glass are the same. Look at the 67 Pontiacs and Chevrolet's and you will see the resemblance very clearly. When Chevrolet was designing a pony car the Camaro , Pontiac wanted one of their own. Again they had to share but give it their own Pontiac flavor.

Lovely car, and Fuel Injected, think that made in the seventies. Love it.
Happy to read you "Love it." :-)
Another great film, Mr. Lou. Acres and acres of a very rare Pontiac. I would reckon the fuel mileage increased some when that 94-page binder was removed from the trunk.
Hi Donald Hollums, Happy to read you appreciate this rare treat car & the binder too :-) Lou
More proof that the evolution of humanity peaked in the '50's. If there was a such thing as a 2020 Pontiac, it would be an egg shaped, style-less rolling cell phone like appliance with a Pontiac badge stuck over the Chevy badge.
There was more effort put into the manufacture of these '50's cars than most of today's super cars. If GM built this car today bolt for bolt, it would cost a super car price too.
Enjoyed reading your comment :-)
Love the trunk treat as always!
Winner on this episode :-)
Oh my, thats incredibly insane!!
I know someone who has a light blue/baby blue one, its pretty!
Hi Wesley, Happy to read you enjoy this one :-) The blue one would be great too, Lou
Wow I just love this car beautiful amazing look beautiful colours

We've had a charcoal Bonneville in our family for over 50 years. Kinda rough so we just drive it.
Hi tkemp65, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
1957 was the year Pontiac turned the page on stodgy straight-eights and invited a young John DeLorean to join the team to sell exciting cars with performance, such as this rare "fuelie" as well as the 2-door wagon Safari, Pontiac's answer to Chevy's Nomad. He would lead them to Grand Prixs, GTO's, and more!!
Hi Steve, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge :-) Lou
I love this CAR !!!
High praise :-)
Best Brochure ! Cool Pontiac.
Happy to read you enjoy this "trunk & treats" :-)
Yes! FANTASTIC CAR!
High praise :-)
The 1st. trunky treat was the standard dealer brochure available for Joe Public to go in a grab from the dealer.
The 2nd. one is more of a "dealer book" shown to tough customers that wanted to scrutinize everything, or special order a car. There was an ancient Pontiac dealer in the small town I grew up in, and one of these cars was still owned by the family of the dealership. I lusted after that so bad, but they wouldn't sell!
Hi UberLummox, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, and happy to read this car brings back memories of the car at your Pontiac Dealer in town :-) Lou

Wow beautiful car love the convertible. I would like to drive it with the top down.
Driving this one with the top down is a good day :-)
💘 the original Dealer's brochure too!!
Pretty cool :-)
I know by 1960 A/C should be on the option list but not here. May be in 1957 it was a dealer option. Very nice car!

Beautiful car.
Lou's on another tough assignment, looking at all those pretty girls.
Some how.....some way.....I'll do my best to make it through :-)
Funny how here of late they've talked about fuel injection being a "technological innovation" when it even existed back in the 1950s.
Hi William, Challenge back then is it's not as efficient as it is today. In the upcoming months, you'll see a 1957 Chevrolet with Fuel Injection, and stick around for the ride portion of that video. Stay tuned, Lou
@@loucostabile Looking forward to it...thanks.
Nice Car!! My Dad had a similar '57 Chieftain 2dr hardtop the same color. So... you mean to say the exhaust comes out through THE BUMPER, NOT through THE FENDER as you stated, right??
Sorry, my Dad's '57was BLACK with white/black/gray interior! They just don't make cars like this any more at all. They don't even have brochures for cars anymore like they used to. My Dad and I would go to the new car dealers every fall from like 1968 through the 1970s to "window shop" the New cars. He would buy a BRAND NEW car every 2-3 years until he died...
Hi George, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
A very nice unusual feature automobile. Bunky Knudsen's first attempt to create a performance image for Pontiac. Unfortunately both the paint color and fender skirts greatly lessen the visual impact of this particular car. In white with red accents they are extremely stunning
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and what you notice.
Great car . Sounds like it's a bit off time or not getting enough gas though . That's my unprofessional opinion . Thanks for posting .
