Thank you for preserving this beauty! I own another '57 Golden Hawk that is metallic blue, white fins, 3sp. OD. Also a restomod from the early 1960's. Chrome under the hood, Polished etc. Bucket seats from a GT Hawk, Ansen floor shifter. Slow process of resto. Original owner passed.
😊😊 would love to be ridden in that kinda car, with John Denver Country Roads being played….the absolute living free experience. I was born to love Cars. Thx for sharing
Hi The_blue_sky, " I was born to love Cars" GOOD NEWS! You've found the right RUclips Channel for you! You're welcome, subscribe, and glad you're along for the ride, Lou
Usually, I don't care for restomods but this one is very well done. The car overall looks original, in fact, I didn't know it was a restomod until you pointed out. Love the gold color and the wire wheels, its a real looker! Great video Lou!
Hi Zach, You're right, this looks like it came from the Factory until you open the doors and look under the hood. Happy to share this "real looker!" with you :-) Lou
I have always found these Studebakers' to be stunners. It appears to be a throwback, in one way, to the vehicles from the 40s era, where the radiator was very prominent, and the headlights were mounted on separate fenders.
Hi Rhonda, Happy to read you appreciate the looks of this car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome. I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. What a great car! Wonderful presence and the wheels are wild. The engine and engine bay are spectacular. Great restoration. It’s a shame Studebaker didn’t last longer. Thanks Lou and Cindy for letting us see this icon.
@JeffKing310: It's too bad that STUDEBAKER and AMERICAN MOTORS CORPORATION and PACKARD didn't merge into one major company. Perhaps it would have been much more profitable.

This 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk with that Aztec Gold looks wonderful! I liked the combination of white in the beautiful rear wings, the large front grille with that shield logo, and under the headlights those stylized air intakes fitted to finish with the large and elegant chrome bumper (special mention for the beautiful wheels, with chrome spoke rings and white strips). The engine bay with that big Supercharged V8 looks superb too. When you open the door, all the beauty and elegance of the interior unfolds before your eyes; from the steering wheel adorned by that large chrome partition, to the beautiful upholstered seats next to the instrument panel. The scale model of the trunk was fantastic, and looks like an almost exact copy, down to the colours, of the full-size one (of course, not forgetting that original "supercharger" brochure that was still in the glove compartment). The walk at the end was very pleasant, as always. Congratulations to Cindy, on her stylish automotive Eva! And to think that it all started with a nice scale model, haha. Great catch, with this vehicle, Lou!
After the Packard engine plant shut down, Studebaker strapped a supercharger on their 289 and the Golden Hawk became a muscle car in ‘57. Dealers clamored for bucket seats and a four on the floor, but that didn’t happen until 1961. This Hawk is painted in the color combination that everyone wants - gold body and white fins. On a scale of 1-10, this Stude beauty is a 20!
When I heard resto mod, I was afraid we were going to find a LS under the hood..... I was greatly surprised it has the correct engine. And what an engine.... those VS (Variable Speed) superchargers are really cool. The Hawk's are another of those cars I didn't like the looks of in the 60's. But it has grown on me over the years as newer cars have become more and more soulless... Great car, Lou.
This car was always a favorite of mine growing up. I was 12 in 1957, and it seemed to be so far ahead of its time. I always loved the daring design. Everyone always mentions the '57 Chevy and '57 Chrysler cars, but this car had fins that were dominant ! The font end had more of a European design, which the public wasn't really ready for yet. Great looking car ! Thanks for the video. 👍

Geez what an impressive restoration. Seems like it would be an almost impossible task to get all the shiny trim and all the little knobs and emblems and all that stuff to look that perfect!?
If this isn't the most beautifully perfect car you've ever featured, it certainly must be really close to the top of the list! Definitely deserves ALL the awards! How lucky you were to see this one and ride in it.

I visit hospitals and private hospitals too but they couldn't help me. They gave me beta blockers to my heart and finally medicine to my high blood pressure too. I wanted to get inside the hospital but they refused to take me in. In private hospitals they couldn't understand why they dont take me in the main hospital. Awesome Car, how many records did the Hawks make at Bonneville?? Even Gale Banks when he was a young man had a Hawk that he would run on the Salt. Cindy and Peter you have a beautiful resto mod. Keeping the authenticity of the car but cleaning up all the imperfections. Thank You All Great Video Lou!!
One of my favorite cars of all time! I imagine, that the dry climate out West helped keep it from rusting away to ths point of no return. I remember seeing a couple of these in the late 1980's in a farm field in Georgia. They weren't marked as for sale & hadn't been moved in years judging from the plant growth around them. I often drove past them in the course of my work. Unfortunate for them in the Deep South (Southeast US), it's too humid & rust had just about gotten the best of them. Sour grapes, but I was too busy in those days, to even think about inquiring about them & taking them on as a project.
Everything about this car is stunning, including the proud owner who looks absolutely thrilled to drive this awesome Studebaker. I'm so happy for her, and happy that they shared this special beauty with Lou and his awesome viewers 😊
Hi Mike, "Everything about this car is stunning, including the proud owner who looks absolutely thrilled to drive this awesome Studebaker." High praise. Lou
I've always vacillated between 'wouldn't be caught dead in one' and 'I gotta get one of those' when it comes to those Golden Hawks. What a beautiful example of a restomod done 100% right! I would drive that Stude all day every day! Cool car Lou!!
Hi Tom (and JudyAnn), Happy to read "What a beautiful example of a restomod done 100% right! I would drive that Stude all day every day!" :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you, Lou
Nothing else looked like this in '57, that's for sure. Just beautiful...especially with those wheels. Engine was so clean and sounded fantastic. Not sure which I like best..front or rear! Love the brushed aluminum dash too. I never really knew how elegant these cars really are. It's beautiful.

This car is the same year I was born. She was in Puyallup. The same town my sister lives. I'm about 20 miles away. This car truly leaves me speechless.
The absolute best resto-mod you've ever had on. I've always loved those Golden Hawks, best car of it's era and ahead of it's time on aerodynamics. More please 👍👍 Thanks for being the best on RUclips Lou 👍😎
I always know how much i really like one of Lou's presentations when i sit here watching Lou drive away in his Viper, as i am saying wow * When a beautifully designed classic is restored and some details enhanced to make it even a little nicer i think that is the best of both worlds * Time to make the T-Shirt. . . :>/
Thats a car you never see at all . They got to be very rare now. Beautiful restoration. It sure has a lot of character. Thanks for showing this beautiful car guys.
Cindy's "Eve" is a perfect example of one of the last unique brands that made it for a little while, So stylish. My Dad had a 59 Silver Hawk...such great style. Thanks Lou.
A BEAUTIFUL car!!! I don't know much about Studebakers but I like this one. It's only lightly modified which I like also. She said that they pulled it from a junkyard I believe. That's great, another car saved from total death. The best compliment I can give is that "I would buy that car". No price would bother me.
Excellent car Lou. They don't make them like that anymore. We are a poorer nation with the loss of Studebaker as an automobile manufacturer for sure. Thanks for putting this video together.
A great restoration Lou. My Band Director had one of these in Black. The last of the glory of the Studebaker. Think the dissolved in 1959. Nice cat! ❤️💯👍👊
Hi Terry, Happy to read you enjoy this restoration. Glad to read this car brings back memories of your Band Directors car. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Wow! What an incredible machine! Nice to see a tasteful restomod done to perfection by folks who obviously are in tune with what they wanted to build. Thanks for sharing this beautiful car with us, Lou!
When you said it was a restromod, I was hard pressed to see the modifications. You didn't go into a lot of detail on what was modified, but other than the added sparkle in the paint, I am thinking maybe up dated guages and radio. The car looks fantastic! If I were wealthy enough to have a collection, I would like three Studebakers in my collection, a late 50s or early 60s Hawk, Lark, and a 63 Avanti. Great video, Lou!
My late uncle had one just like this ( same year ) he got brand new but was red and white. It was before i was born but have pics of him with it in front of my grand parents house. When we talked cars he always bought up his 57 Stude Hawk .....he loved it and always regretted selling it. Awesome car !
Absolutely stunning car. The color is captivating and really augments the overall design and is well set off with the white accent color. Once again you just have the eye for wonderful vehicles to showcase. Truly awesome channel, Lou, and keep up the great work.
Oh big bro Lou!! POW! And my floppy DC sneakers are yanked off my tube socked stocking feet by St. Gabriel himself here in snowy Brooklyn and hurled down that gorgeous desert AZ street, where you jump up and catch them both!!-100% Joe Montana style!! With that big bro Lou grin😄!! Hold onto my boys and send them back to me soon, will ya big bro🤣? Everything is this review is just beautiful, Lou. That Studebaker in Aztec Gold set against that magical flora and fauna and Arizona Spanish style homes there just took my breath away, man. Eve is in a perfect place to show off her "fins" and with perfect folks who love and care for her as they do. Ya know, I heard my Dad (who passed away 17 years ago) had a Studebaker coupe (maybe one of these?!) when he was a handsome young Irishman, a couple of years before he met my Mom, an Italian cupcake from the Bronx. Then they had me and my sisters and brothers, before lil' tube sock wearin' JV baseball jock JV Johnny as the baby boy😜. Seeing this review made me think of them. My God, I do miss them. Thanks for the trip, big bro. JV Johnny ⚾⚾
Hey JV Johnny, I can hear the sneaker "screech" on hot pavement in AZ from them being yanked off in Brooklyn :-) Happy to read this brings back memories of your Dads car. Eve in AZ is sun bathing....NICE! You're welcome, Lou
Beautiful Studebaker Hawk!...When I was a kid back in the late 50s and early 60s I thought Studebakers were ugly. Face it. The Lark etc was a rolling box😝. But the Hawk is a very beautiful car...Thanks for posting Lou! Gods blessing on you and your family!
Beautiful car, and as I'm fond of saying, "It's tough to outcool a finned Hawk". I'm curious about what modifications were made. The lady mentioned sparkle in the paint, I noticed wheels, tires, AC, an alternator, and the windshield wiper motor was missing. (likely reworked wiper mechanism). How about the brakes and transmission?
I learned to drive in one of these. White so the fins must have been gold. My mother's boyfriend sold automobiles had drove a golden hawk. The swirled dash had a plaque that had a production number and name of the man in Texas it was mad for. It had a Packard engine as I recall.

Gorgeous car, restored exactly as I would have done it. Why this car wasn't the top seller in its day is a mystery to me. Raymond Loewy was a genius. Just one more thing: Lou, whenever it's convenient, would you please ask Cindy if she'll marry me? Thanks.
Hi Stewart, Happy to read "Gorgeous car, restored exactly as I would have done it." :-) I believe she reads the comments, so good luck! You're welcome, Lou
Lou I hate to be critical but a restomod is an old car with a new modern chassis and running gear i.e. modern computer controlled engine most people opt fora GM ls. This car is a stock restoration and it is really nice. Sometimes I think you purposely mis state just to get a reaction drives us techno needs crazy Keep up the good work enjoy your videos

The more you approach the car the more you appreciated it. Paint and wheels are flawless!!
I agree.
A mighty fine resto-mod, with the looks to allow it to stand apart, yet the modernity to give it some ease of use. Well done.👏👏👏
:-)
Studebaker made some very fine cars.. I need to go through their Museum again .
Hi Mike, Happy to read this video reminds you to stop by the Museum again :-) Lou
They are rarely seen today they did get it going again and mods made very tastefully done
Hi Larry, Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of seeing one of these cars today, Lou

Hi Sparky, We have a WINNER for you today :-) Happy to read this brings back memories of the ones you saw in Georgia, Lou
Very tasteful restomod. The right color, stance, and wheels.

"It's beautiful" NICE!

The absolute best resto-mod you've ever had on. I've always loved those Golden Hawks, best car of it's era and ahead of it's time on aerodynamics.
More please 👍👍
Thanks for being the best on RUclips Lou 👍😎
Hi Pat, High praise. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
I always know how much i really like one of Lou's presentations when i sit here watching Lou drive away in his Viper, as i am saying wow * When a beautifully designed classic is restored and some details enhanced to make it even a little nicer i think that is the best of both worlds * Time to make the T-Shirt. . . :>/

A beeeeautiful example of automotive history. The car is definitely unique in looks and luxurious styling with such class.

Thank you so much Lou for bringing this to our attention.
I chuckled when I saw the brochure had a silhouette of a
man driving a 57 Thunderbird. 😀👍
You're welcome Cobra Charmer. Nice catch on the 57 T Bird Driver!
A BEAUTIFUL car!!! I don't know much about Studebakers but I like this one. It's only lightly modified which I like also. She said that they pulled it from a junkyard I believe. That's great, another car saved from total death. The best compliment I can give is that "I would buy that car". No price would bother me.
High praise.
One Lucky Lady !!! Eve us just Beautiful !!!
:-)
Excellent car Lou. They don't make them like that anymore. We are a poorer nation with the loss of Studebaker as an automobile manufacturer for sure. Thanks for putting this video together.
Hi Kevin, Happy to read you enjoy this "Excellent car" :-) You're welcome, Lou
The gold is looking more precious in shining sunlight, dark colour road 🎉
NICE!
Another fantastic car Lou! Cars now a days lack the beauty and flair of those of yesteryear! Love it!❤️👍

Happy to read "I love that car" :-)
Gorgeous car very well done 👍👍
High praise.
High praise. You're welcome Rick!
Hi Daniel, Happy to read "The car looks fantastic!" :-) Hope you get those 3 Studebakers soon. Lou
Great car.Outstanding video Lou
Hi Tim, Happy to read you enjoy this "Great car" :-) I appreciate the kind words on this video, Lou

My late uncle had one just like this ( same year ) he got brand new but was red and white. It was before i was born but have pics of him with it in front of my grand parents house. When we talked cars he always bought up his 57 Stude Hawk .....he loved it and always regretted selling it.
Awesome car !
Hi troynov1965, Happy to read you appreciate this "Awesome car !" :-) Glad to read this brings back memories of your Uncles car, Lou
Stylish but not bloated....beautiful car Lou, thanks.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car Mike. You're welcome.
Absolutely stunning car. The color is captivating and really augments the overall design and is well set off with the white accent color. Once again you just have the eye for wonderful vehicles to showcase. Truly awesome channel, Lou, and keep up the great work.
Hi ultraviolet tp, High praise. I appreciate your kind and encouraging words. Lou
Spent some $$ on that interior!
Thank you for viewing and sharing.
Remember these cars well beautiful car Lou thanks.

Цікава історія про Адама і Еву! Чудове авто! Дякую!
Hi Сергій, Happy to share the story of this car with you :-) You're welcome, Lou
Beautiful Studebaker Hawk!...When I was a kid back in the late 50s and early 60s I thought
Studebakers were ugly. Face it. The Lark etc was a rolling box😝. But the Hawk is a very beautiful car...Thanks for posting Lou! Gods blessing on you and your family!
Hi Gerry, Happy to read "the Hawk is a very beautiful car..." :-) You're welcome. Blessings received. God bless you and your family too, Lou
It’s really well put together, super nice color!👍. The back end is over the top.
Hi SYD Rider, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Beautiful car, and as I'm fond of saying, "It's tough to outcool a finned Hawk". I'm curious about what modifications were made. The lady mentioned sparkle in the paint, I noticed wheels, tires, AC, an alternator, and the windshield wiper motor was missing. (likely reworked wiper mechanism). How about the brakes and transmission?
Hi Jeff, Happy to share this "finned Hawk" with you :-) Hmmm, not sure about the brakes and transmission. Lou
And Cindy said, “Let there be a golden lady named, Eve, and she will be beautiful.”
Studebaker Bible, Cindy1957, Chapter 1, Verse 1
AMEN!
A beautiful car for a beautiful woman 👍
:-)
One of my favs. New a man who had one.
Happy to read "One of my favs" :-)
Wheels by Truespoke in Fallbrook, California. Beautiful rims!
Thanks for sharing what you liked :-)
Thanks!
Hi Dr. Candor, SUPER THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER THANKS! It's much appreciated, Lou
Raymond Lowey designed a winner.
Thank you for sharing :-)
I learned to drive in one of these. White so the fins must have been gold. My mother's boyfriend sold automobiles had drove a golden hawk. The swirled dash had a plaque that had a production number and name of the man in Texas it was mad for. It had a Packard engine as I recall.
Hi Joseph, Happy to read this car brings back memories of the car you learned to drive on :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful job!

GREAT COLOR. GOLD...
:-)
I have one of those, except it's the 1:18 scale version. This is a fin car without being goofy.
Hi Charles, Happy to read you have a little one of this car :-) Lou
The Car is heading to Indy and it will go up for Auction at Mecum Auctions.
Hmmm, I wasn't aware of that.
Tony, I'm married, I already have someone who has he job correcting everything I say. :-)
fantastic car ! better like new .
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
